  1. Okay thank you for the open bar info. I guess I'm just trying to get a better idea of what the total cost is going to be. I am also planning on doing the Divine Package, do you know if there is a dinner menu or options for the dinner meal?
  2. Hey Ladies, Does anyone already have or know if there is a Divine Package dinner menu/options for the Now Sapphire that you could email me? Thanks!!!!
  3. You must be so excited!!! I am also from Jersey so I know that I would love to get away from this weather for a while! I am just starting the planning process but I know it is going to go by so fast! Question: In the wedding package that you chose, do your guests have an open bar during the reception at the Beach Terrace that is included in your package or was that an additional cost? Thanks!! Amy G
  4. Oh my, I am actually in the process of booking the Now Sapphire so can you please give specifics of what you didn't like about it. I have never visited it so I do not know exactly what to expect. Thanks! :-)
  5. You must be soooooo excited!!! I hope you post pics and some good feedback about your experience there!! :-)
  6. Yes, I believe there is a Tequila Terrace, a Beach Terrace and maybe a Pool Terrace. Any other brides out there know the differences between these and any recommendations?
  7. Thanks babestaaa! Happy planning to you too! Did you choose the tequila terrace or the beach terrace?
  8. Thank you for the information clgriffi7 and perry1217...I really appreciate it. I wasn't even thinking that I need to get my website started with more specific info before I send out my Save the Dates...I this forum, lol.
  9. So ladies I did decide on the Now Saphire for my March 2012 wedding. I have relly appreciated ALL of the great reviews that other girls have posted....they were extremely helpful! I still have plenty of time to send in my reservation request to Sandra, but I do want to lock in my date so I have to narrow down my ceremony, cocktail an reception locations. As far as the reception goes, does anyone know if you need to rent a dance floor for the Tequila Terrace because I know the wooden slats might not be good for dancing. Also, has anyone seen the Beach Terrace decorated for a reception at night with the tables and maybe lighting? Also, does anyone know that if I choose the highest package, I think it's the Divine package, is there any additional/hidden costs for the reception dinner or is the entire dinner included with the dessert and drinks also? I know I could just email Sandra with my questions, but I figured you girls might get back to me sooner. :-) Any other 2012 Saphire Brides out there?? Thanks!!!
  10. Hi all !! I am a March 2012 bride-to-be! I got engaged 7 months ago and started planning a DW to Costa Rica unfortunately a lot of belly aching was going on because of the cost so I am now planning my DW to Mexico. I have another meeting with my TA tomorrow to hopefully narrow down and book my resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. I am super excited and I can not wait to chat with you all about the planning experience.
  11. I am planning on having a March 2012 DW in Mexico and I want to get my 'Save the Dates' out a year in advance. I am also planning to have a hometown reception when I return from my DW for all of the guests that could not make the trip. So here's the question...is it rude to only send Save the Dates to a certain group of people and then send an invitation to the rest of the people for my hometown reception? I do not want to be rude, but what if those only invited to the hometown reception get offended that I did not invite them to Mexico?? HELP!
  12. I asked my three sisters to be my bridesmaids the morning I went dress shopping by giving them each a Barbie that I personalized. Each 'Bridesmaid Barbie' looked exactly like each of my sisters. They absolutely loved them!!
  13. Hi sarcrook, Can you tell me what your deciding factors were to choose Dreams over Now Sapphire? I have an appt. this weekend with my travel agent to 'hopefully' commit to a locatin and they are both on my final list. Thanks!!
  14. annkho, Hi, please send me more pics as well. I just spoke with Sandra this morning from that resort and I would love to see more. [email protected] Thanks!! -Amy
  15. 1106wedding, Thank you sooo much for sharing your Pro's and Con's list and your pics!! I recently just decided to change my destination wedding from Costa Rica to Riveria Maya Mexico after 5 months of already planning so now I am starting over. I actually just spoke with Sandra at NOW Sapphire this morning so I am happy to hear that you had a pleasant experience there because I was leaning towards that resort. There are a ton of threads here so I haven't read through them all, but which resort did you decide on and what would have been your second choice? Thanks!! Amy
  16. Hi futuremrsj, I had a local travel agent (in New Jersey) already look into group hotel/airline rates so that is one of the factors that helped narrowed down my search. She did tell me that the rates are not definite though since some of the resorts are not releasing exact rates and airlines are not booking yet for 2012, so I got estimates. I definitely have at least 15 going to CR, but it is possible I will have approximately 25...perhaps 30 at the most. I also think I am looking more towards March of 2012. Please let me know if you hear anything further as well. Thanks!!! & Congrats!
  17. I have been doing research for a few months now for my destination wedding in Costa Rica for the beginning of 2012. Since I knew I wanted to fly into Liberia and stay in an all-inclusive resort along the North Pacific Coast, I have narrowed it down to these four resorts based on their location, price and their wedding packages. Please give me any positive & negative feedback you have on weddings there or any experience you have had with their staff...I need the help! - Flamingo Beach Resort (Guanacaste) - Riu (Guanacaste) - Barcelo (Langosta Beach, Tamarindo) - Occidental Grand Papagayo My only 'requirements' is that we are near a good surfing area and the resort must have a beautiful beach for our ceremony. I appreciate any help anyone can give me.
  18. Congrats ladies on booking your DW's !!! Â I am also in the process of planning mine. Could you tell me what month/year your weddings are for and how you came about narrowing down your location choice? Â Thanks!! Â Amy
  19. Thank you all for the responses..... I was also happy to see that there is a little Costa Rica section of this forum that I have discovered and I have been able to get some great advice there as well. Â Thanks!!!! Â Amy
  20. Hi Everyone, I am planning a 2012 destination wedding to Costa Rica and I need help! If anyone has any real knowledge or experience of all-inclusive hotels and wedding locations in Costa Rica I would love to hear all about it. I believe I have narrowed down my preferred location to be somewhere in the Northern Pacific coast primarily because it is close to the Liberia airport and it is know for some good surf spots (for my fiance). Â I have enjoyed reading other posts about others experiences in planning a destination wedding and it has relieved me somewhat to know that others are going through the same things as me....good and bad!! Â Thanks!!
