Show off your shoes....
AmyG replied to twinkletoes's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
venus909, My dress is to the length of my 4" heels which I plan on wearing for pics and the reception. I will be barefoot for my beach ceremony, so I am fine with having my dress drag a little....or I will walk on my toes, lol. I did not have the option for a front hem either. Having the ability to wear heels during my reception for dancing adn stuff was important to me. -
Show us your wedding dress!

Thank you!! Took the words out of my mouth! -
Hi HeatherViolet, In the Divine package, it includes 2 hours of DJ service so I will be using it for the reception. I may only have a three hour reception so I would only need to get one addtional hour. I will be having a cocktail hour prior to the reception, but I might use an IPod for that hour. I figured we will all go to the nightclub after all of that. -Amy

Hi Heather, I don't mind answering any of your questions at all. I have received most of my information from past brides on this forum and facebook. I am going to base my wedding ceremony time on the sunset, so the approximate time for the sunset on my wedding date (March 16) would be 5:57pm. I will probably do my ceremony at 5:00 or 5:30pm. I am expecting some 'beach lookers' and walk bys at that time but I know they try to set up the ceremony site during the day so no one is sitting directly in that spot. Naturally people at the pool will see me and others walking to the ceremony but I figured I won't notice it too much and i'll just go with the flow. In the end, it will only be my fiance and family/friends sitting around me during the ceremony. I chose the Divine package. I am using the resort DJ for the reception, I will probably pay for a few additional hours. I will bring my own music for the ceremony and possibly the cocktail hour. I chose the Beach Terrace for two main reasons...1) I do not like the slats on the deck on the Tequila Terrace. Since I plan on wearing heels for my reception, I did not want myself or my guests to worry about footwear. I also did not want the extra expense of renting a dance floor. The Beach Terrace is a concrete area so I will not have to worry about it. 2) I did not like the fact that people in the restaurant(s) are right next to the deck and would pracrtically be watching the whole reception. At least at the Beach Terrace, the pool closes around 7:00 (I think) so we would have more privacy throughout the reception. Mind you these are only my personal opinions and since I had the option of either location I am extremely happy with my decision. I was previously working with another wedding coordinator but she is no longer there, so now I am working with Anel. I'm glad you are still using the Now Sapphire for your wedding! I have heard the best reviews from other brides there so I'm sure we have nothing to worry about. :-) -Amy Molly57, Thank you so much for the positive review! I hope you had a great time during your visit!! You did reassure me as to why I did not choose the Tequila Terrace, I never liked the idea of the restaurants so close by. I just hope that the restaurants are not a distraction at the Beach Terrace. I have heard that when two events are going on at both terraces you can not hear each others music, so I am glad you were able to confirm that. Did you book your wedding there? -Amy

Hi HeatherViolet, I booked my wedding back in February and when the new coordinators took over recently I confirmed my date/time/location with them to make sure...She did confirm it so I was okay, but I did hear from others that their booking date got screwed up. I was told they can have up to two weddings per day maximum, but the actual ceremonies would never be at the exact same time...perhaps an hour apart.. I was warned that it's possible I may see only one other bride. Since other resorts tend to have a reputation of being a 'wedding factory', I was okay with this. There are two beach ceremony locations based on where your reception location is. If your reception is on the Tequila Terrace then your beach ceremony would be on the beach in front of the deck steps. If your ceremony is on the Beach Terrace then your beach ceremony would be on the beach by the beach entrance closer to the pool. I actually booked the Beach Terrace, it is located on the concrete area closer to the pool but right in front of the beach entrance. From what I hear from other girls on here, it is far enough away from the Tequila Terrace so when two receptions are going on at the same time you won't even notice. Unfortunately I don't have any suggestions for you, I do feel bad that you have to have this stress in planning. Are you going to stick with your planned date still? I only hope that I don't have any 'curve balls' such as this thrown at me as my date gets closer. :-/ -Amy

I Love this dress!! You look Amazing! It has such beautiful features. -
I just found out that my mom invited my hairstylist to my wedding to do my hair and she is coming!!! That takes a lot of stress away that I had over my hair and makeup for my big day! I was starting to have nightmares that it was going to be frizzy and blowing around in the wind. Plus, she will be able to do my three bridesmaids hair and my mom. I
