  1. Hi Noxx, What joda said is dead on! I like the gazebo surrounded by the pool (not the chess board gazebo) but if you want private then that is not the route to take. Pretty much any location you choose (unless you pick the ballroom) is not going to be completely private. I got really concerned with privacy during my planning too but to be honest when the day came and I actually went through with everything, I don't think I noticed a single on looker....it just didn't bother me at all. Did you want to do a beach wedding?...or something other than a beach? -Amy
  2. Hi all, I just wanted to share what we did for our pets at our destination wedding...it was actually a surprise to me! My fiance had them add these photo charms of our pets to my bouquet. I was so surprised/happy that of course I cried and almost ruined my make up, Lol.
  3. Any ideas on how to honor your pets that can not make it to your DW?
  4. Hi LaurenR, The Lobby Bar and the Night Club are open until 1:00am. The club is pretty small but does play fun dance music so it was always a good time....especially on our wedding night! The Lobby Bar had a band playing in it almost every night as well and people could dance and socialize so that was also very fun! My group seemed to have a great time hanging out at both of them and even out by the pool where we sort of created our own little parties poolside. On some nights of the week the resort hosts different events like Caribbean Night where they have shows and special buffets, but they go on at about 8:00pm and don't last that long. They even have vendors come in selling some cool stuff. No one in my group left the resort to explore other night life options, but I did hear of tours that went into Cancun to clubs and bars that may be worth checking out if you're into that. :-)
  5. HeatherViolet, Thank you! I actually got those palm tree leaves at a wholesale floral company in Philadelphia. I am not sure where else they carry them at but if I ever find out I will let you know. :-) Vanessa56, CONGRATS!!!!! I can't wait to hear how it went and to see pics!!! Welcome Home! :-) -Amy
  6. kristen6212, Thanks!!!! Yeah I was a tiny bit concerned when I got it in and I felt that maybe I should have ordered it in white.....but when I actually wore it with my tan, hair & makeup I forgot all about it and it was perfect for me. You'll look great in the ivory!
  7. Thank You ladies, I appreciate all of your sweet comments!!!! I was very happy with my selection and I even got to wear it twice since my family threw us a cocktail party the week we returned!!....it's nice wearing it twice! :-) kristen6212, Hi Dress Twin!!! I have the ivory dress, which do you have? You will Love to wear this dress, especially in the warmer weather. I see your wedding is coming up, I bet you are sooooooo excited!!! :-))) -Amy
  8. Vanessa56, I used an IPod for the ceremony and cocktail party but I didn't take notice of what they used. RFinger's response below about the cable sounds like a good idea!
  9. All of you have such Amazing & Beautiful dresses and I have loved looking at all of them over the past 1.5 years....I had my wedding so I can finally post my pics of my 'Ella 5468'. I don't think that pictures do this dress justice because of all the details it has but here are some pics anyway....
  10. Show us your wedding dress!
  11. When I reserved, Anel wasn't there it was a someone else and she got back to me within 2 to 3 days I think. If you don't hear back I would just resend it.
  12. Hi maytai5dh2, You're Welcome!!! I got my bridal bouquet through the resort....it was the one included in my wedding package. I brought the bridesmaids bouquets down with me. I purchased the flowers at a wholesale place and put them together when we got there. They were actually fake but looked very, very real....I don't think anyone even noticed that they were fake. :-))))
  13. Hi HeatherViolet, Thank you!! :-) Yes, I would definitely recommend being persistent with the items that are important to you. I had a group of 25 with me and so for us what worked best was that the majority of us would meet up in the lobby at a specific time then certain groups of people discussed where they wanted to go eat and then they put their names in and how many they needed to be seated. Some couples went off on their own and others dined in groups. Most of the restaurants have those light up pager things so after you put your name in you can go back to the huge lobby and grab a drink at the bar or grab a seat and relax. I'd say for a table of 2 to 4 we waited no more than 20 - 25 minutes...for a table of over 5 we probably waited around 45 minutes. Time flew by and waiting was never an issue especially since everyone was always getting to know one another. Sometimes we got lucky and got right in. 7:30 to 8:30 seemed to be the busiest times at the restaurants (they open at 6:00pm). Men definitely have to wear long pants (jeans are fine) at the French Restaurant (Paramour) and the Mediterranean (Cibu). I dont think they can wear flip flops, but they can wear sandals........but they should be majority closed at the toe part. Some of our guests did get denied because of the dress code so they just had to go back and change. It's only the two restaurants though that are strict on those rules, the others are not. Check in for us was just annoying because they didn't understand our reservation and the fact that we wanted to be upgraded. For other guests I think it was easy but it just took a while....and of course after you are traveling all that way the smallest things may irritate you until you can relax. :-) The weather was absolutely gorgeous!!!! I am sooooo happy I picked this time of the year. I think it rained for 4 minutes the whole 10 days I was there. :-) -Amy
  14. I had Divine and the white fabric I had came with my package....not sure if you could see it well with my photos. I am not sure if it comes with all of the packages. The white covered chairs came with it too.
  15. That's Awesome you sent in your form....it gets so exciting!! :-))) I'd love to hear other comments on Preferred Club but here are my comments from my experience: 1) It was nice to have WiFi in my room so I could use my laptop at any time. You do not have the Wifi access in the other rooms at all....if you want to use internet you have to pay for it and use the computer room located next to the lobby. 2) With the Preferred you get to reserve the bali beds at the main pool. This worked out great because we reserved one almost everyday and we had a place to lay all day for me and some of my guests. A waiter kept the drinks coming all day. You are also able to reserve lounge chairs on the beach which is nice so you know you have a great spot. 3) The balconies had awesome views and a big jacuzzi... :-) 4) One of the restaurants serves breakfast exclusively for Preferred Club...you can eat breakfast on a deck next to the ocean...very pretty! 5) The room itself is gorgeous with an upgraded bathroom. All of the other rooms are great too, but the Preferred one is nicer. 6) We went in the Preferred lounge a few times and grabbed a snack and a drink, it was nice but i'd rather be out by the pool bar or the beach bar. : ) ....I was able to use the printer in there though to print my boarding pass the day before we left so that was helpful. I never even really went to the adults preferred pool because I was always doing something else or hanging out with my guests....none of my guests got Preferred so me and my husband were the only ones. I bet if more of my guests got Preferred then we would hung out at the adults pool more. The resort does not serve Captain Morgan at all....I know this because that is our favorite drink as well and we asked for it on day one.....they do however have an alternative to Captain which is called Flor de Cana. It is excellent...we liked it so much we actually bought a bottle. :-) The chair sashes are not included in any of the wedding packages...you can either purchase them per chair or bring them yourself. Taking a trip down there would be awesome!! I hope you can do that!! :-) You are going to Love it there. Happy Planning!!!!!!!! -Amy Quote: Originally Posted by Shelgal I just want to say thank you to all of you. I just turned in my papers and deposit for my wedding. A lot of our guests drink Captain do we have to get perferred club because of this. Also are chair sahes included with ungraded packages. Thank you in advance. Hopefully might take a trip down there when FI isn't in the fields.
