  1. We are doing the same, except at a hall because no one has a big enough backyard. We are inviting everyone including those who come to the destination wedding.
  2. Glad to hear you guys are working things out. Wishing you two much happiness. If you do decide to get married, I would suggest trying pre-marital counseling. We just completed ours last week- and it left me feeling so relieved that we had already discussed most of the topics and were heading in the direction of a long healthy marriage . It also highlighted some differences in how men and women think and I feel like taking time to think about that- will help us all in the future. Also, I think that during the process of wedding planning we have fought more than any other time in our relationship- I think a lot of couples go through this- even though they may not want to admit it-- it can be very stressful! Even with a small destination wedding. Best of Luck to you.
  3. We only have 20 guests- so that minimizes on OOT BAGs. Also, I am doing decorations that will pack easily. Luminaries that fold flat for table decor, sashes, and table runners. Did a trial run with a small suitcase and it all fits!
  4. Etsy, has such cute stuff. I had to curb my addiction though, 29 days left and the budget is a little out of control lol
  5. We are just under 30 days now- so excited- but so much little stuff left to do. I just realized I'm not going to be able to post a planning thread--- unless I am somehow able to make 100 posts in the next couple weeks... It may not be happening--- but I will try!
  6. BrideKSmith, My stylist didn't seem to know about clip-in tracks... Did you wear an updo? I checked out some you tube videos but I was not really sure where to get them made. Do they stay in place well? My hair is just above my shoulders and thick. I just want a side bun or curls on the side. Nothing to dramatic and not a lot of tracks. Can't wait to see your pictures- it sounds great to be able to take them out and not have to wear them the whole week.
  7. Thanks Ladies, His hair does grow fast.... He usually gets it cut every week. We are getting married in Mexico, so I don't really know if the resort barbers have much experience cutting black hair. Oh, well, I guess we will see when we get there. I still have to get my hair figured out too- lol- did a trial this past weekend. My stylist talked me into a style with curls on one side, and they were all fallen by night. I think I may just get a side bun- but I still don't know how I want the extensions. Right now, I still have a few tracks sewed in from the style- and I'm annoyed by them... LOL- I can't get used to wearing weave... But i definitely need more hair for a bun....
  8. Hey ladies, I have a question actually more about the men and their hair. My fiance is getting his haircut on Tuesday. We leave early on Wednesday. Wedding is Friday. He is really concerned that his "line" won't look good by then. Do your future hubbies have plans to get their haircuts/lines while at your destination? We are skeptical to try a resort barber for this ...
  9. I know, my schedule is a little packed- and I know things might not flow exactly the way I plan... So I'm kinda anticipating adding the extra hour if we need to... The pics are important to me I want to be able to look back at all of the big day!
  10. JoZee84, I was told the onsite coordinator would contact me 30 days prior to the wedding. So I think she should be getting in touch with you any day now. Maybe contact your WC and ask her when you should hear from the on-site WC.
  11. We are doing 4 hours of photography- and I had concerns that it would feel rushed but I planned it out and ran it by the photographer and he seemed to think my plan was realistic. 1/2 hr with guys getting ready 1/2 hr with girls getting ready 1/2 hr ceremony 1/2 hr pictures of the bridal party/guests 1 hr bride & groom session on the beach and around the resort 1 hr @ our reception (we are doing the 1st dance, cake cutting, garter toss, etc at the beginining to get photos) I keep debating about the rush in the reception- but I also know our photographer will stay an extra hour if we decide on the day off that we want to shell out the extra $$$ Now video is what I can't decide on, professional or "home video"-- what's everyone else doing?
  12. Amazing photos, congrats! Could I ask about your bouquets-- did you wrap the BM's bouquet stems with something?
  13. Congrats, Speedy! You look amazing in the pics. Can't wait to read your review. Thanks for all the info on Mediamorfosis , ladies.... What to do.... We definitely can't afford them. Is anyone else doing video with another company-- or any recent brides used the royal video team? Any suggestions would be great ladies. June brides, are dates are approaching so quickly!
  14. Yikes! I wasn't expecting it to be that much... We will have to leave the video out:) lol. Thanks for sharing the details though. I had originally planned to have family record for us--- or the resort.... But the resort is $500 for one hour of coverage! I guess we will see.... Our weddings our 3 days apart! I have a ton of little stuff to do too--- and I keep getting distracted by the littlest things-- liking picking another pair or shoes (I've now ordered 3 pair and still am not 100% sold on any-lol)... Well, happy planning Maybe we will see each other there, we arrive on the 22nd
  15. Bride2Be22, If you wouldn't mind sharing, is mediamorfosis pretty affordable? We were not originally planning to do professional video-- but I just watched an AMAZING video on their site and I'm kinda hopeful that we can maybe squeeze it into the budget... Even though there is the addition of another vendor fee.... I'm sure vegas was amazing for the bachelorette party!
  16. Amazing, what you were able to do in such a short amount of time! Gorgeous pics! Congrats!
  17. Congrats, ChicagoBride! Can't wait to read your review. 40 days to go! I'm so excited even though I have a bunch of stuff to do. I really could use a vacation after all this planning!
  18. Jennie0521, Thanks for the details on the ipod reception! We are doing that as well. I was a little nervous about it. It's a relief to hear it went so well for you guys. Rosieposie, Congrats on the AHR. Hope everything is wonderful!
  19. My shoes #3 lol- http://www.endless.com/Brianna-Leigh-Womens-Isabella-Platform/dp/B004AE21TA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&cAsin=B004AE20RS&fromPage=search&sr=1-1&qid=1304554552970&asins=B004AE20RS%2CB004AE1UY2%2CB003URQ482%2CB004AE25ZK%2CB004AE22QM%2CB004AE1UU6%2CB003URQ5YU%2CB003URQ68K%2CB004AE267C%2CB003URQ5L8%2CB003URQ58G%2CB004AE226C%2CB004AE20HI%2CB003URQ4KA%2CB003URQ644%2CB003URQ40A%2CB004AE21AE%2CB003URQ540%2CB003URQ5X6%2CB004AE23DO%2CB003URQ4BY%2CB003URQ5D6&asinTitle=Brianna%20Leigh%20Isabella%20Platform%20Pump&contextTitle=search%20results&clientPageSize=100&node=241745011&sort=relevance-fs-rank&keywords=brianna+leigh I originally wanted royal blue shoes but gave up on them... I'm trying not to buy anymore- since these are my 3rd pair and I keep finding a better shoe! #1- http://www.6pm.com/badgley-mischka-hyde-white-satin #2- http://www.bellissimabridalshoes.com/product/021187.shtml
  20. Arica, Congrats and thank you for the review! It was really good timing for me to read a great review today... felt like I was on the verge of a meltdown with all the little issues with planning lately. Now, I am back on track ready to work on my welcome booklets.
  21. Thanks for all the tips, ladies. I'm going to check our the clips on you tube (when I'm not at work . I've had one sew in before-- and I felt like it just didn't blend well... not really sure I want to try that again. But I will keep my options open... I guess I need to make some appointments with my stylist to start experimenting!
