Well it was written in my contract that they are no outside vendors allowed. So, apparently things can differ between the palace resorts.

Not using theirs at all. I corresponded with them a few times and wasn't happy with them.

We are having the same problem but with anniversaries. We have a few friends who will be celebrating their wedding anniversaries while we are away. And one of them is their one year anniversary!

My bridesmaids are throwing my shower and I thought that their gifts that they are getting from me before the wedding would suffice, is this wrong?

Our TA required $100 down for each room and then it is credited back to our stay. I think this is completely normal and it has worked out fine in our favor. We held 25 rooms in our block and so far more 16 have been booked and we still have over 4 months until our wedding.

I checked with my WC at Aventura and she said that we have to use their preferred DJ. So I booked J&S and they have been very accommodating so far.

I have booked an outside photographer and I am just buying him a day pass. They state no outside photographers but many many brides get away with just buying them a pass. The WC won't say anything.

I am getting married there and staying there. I am using Wendy Hicks as my TA. She is great. I found her on this website. She has been super helpful and just got our rates reduced even lower than our original contracted price. One of my BM's found a cheaper booking price on-line so Wendy called the resort and got it adjusted.

Woo hoo! We are officially over 75 room nights booked! And we still have over 4 months to go! Bring on the private events galore!

No. We are getting a great turn out so far for our destination wedding. Plus we don't have a lot of family that lives close, so it would mean traveling for them anyways. What song are you using for your first dance?

Cute idea!! Especially for those that aren't having their wedding at a resort.

I read that too but I was worried that it may not be exactly what I want so I went ahead and ordered them. One of my BM's lives on the east coast so I am having them shipped to her and she is bringing them down for us. One less thing that I have to pack! We ordered ours from http://www.amols.com. They have great looking maracas and you can order them in your color scheme.

I bought my own sashes and runners from www.weddinglinensdirect.com They are decently priced and way better than renting them from the resort. Plus your WC will set-up everything that you bring. I am currently searching for the perfect centerpieces and I have ordered a few different trials from http://www.save-on-crafts.com. This is a great website that has lots of decor options. I am in the process of decorating ideas for the cake table but I think it will look something like this: I also ordered fuchsia and tangerine paper lanterns for our cocktail party and I have centerpieces for that also. Still working on decor for the gazebo too. Soooo much to do!!!!!!

This is a great site. My mom ordered a fiberoptic centerpiece along with a mirror for the bottom and some glass beads. We are going to do a trial and see if we like it once we add in the other elements from the table. I like this idea because it will add more light to our reception which is being held from 7 to 10 pm. I don't want to spend a bunch of money on floral centerpieces that no one will see.

No outside DJ's. I accepted Wilma and they said absolutely no outside vendors. A photographer you can get away with and just pass them off as a friend or family member but a DJ would be too hard. I booked one of their recommended DJ's. J&S Audio Visual. I hope he is good.

We were debating this too but decided that everyone should have their own digital camera and we set-up a photosharing site too.

My MOH found that the resort was doing an on-line special if you booked through them, so I contacted my travel agent and she got the group rate re-contracted so that it was lower than what they were offering on-line. If you have a good travel agent, they will make things happen!!

I am debating on doing one for my FI.... we will have to wait and see how I feel once we get closer!

To past brides who booked a DJ- I booked J&S for our DJ services and I have been coordinating with Michell. Did any of you use them? If so, how are they?
