  1. I was having that problem at first too, what I did was first select USA, then the states came up, then I switched it to Canada and got to choose my province. It must be a glitch on the website.
  2. Thanks so much for the info! I got the mugs I've been eyeing for a while now at a great discount. Luckily shipping for the ones I picked was cheap to Canada too (we can't get the free shipping here...it was only $30) Anyways, so excited to get them! Thanks again!
  3. I bought my chair sashes today - couldn't pass up a great deal like that! Funny thing is that I don't even have my colors picked for the wedding yet, so hopefully the ones I bought will match my theme!!
  4. I'm so excited about all the stuff you can make on Vistaprint - I'm confused about one thing though... There's an American website version (.com) that has a TON of really cool free items, and a Canadian website version (.ca) that has the same items on special, but they're not free, only ~%75 off. I live in Canada - has anyone else ordered from the American site and gotten the Free items? Or are we defaulted to the Canada site where there seems to be less of a sale? Thanks for any information you can share!
  5. I'd love to be added to this list if possible, it looks like since Hzak1203 is no longer there that my wedding dates will fit in nicely: bryanandchar April 5 2011, Traveling April 2-16, 2011, Ocho Rios Jamaica This is such a great idea!!
  6. If you only want close friends and family there, then I woud suggest only inviting them. Everyone else will understand, plus, if you invite everyone you aren't so close with, there is a very good chance that extra people will come. We invited ~150 people and have 45 booked so far, several of which were totally unexpected! But for us, we wanted it to be "the more the merrier!" You can keep it intimate for the trip, and then host a party for everyone else when you get back so they feel involved too and you don't need to worry about hurting anyone's feelings that way
  7. That's a great idea! I love a deal also - but how do you know how many to order of what? Did you just over-estimate to make sure there would be enough? I'm doing an at-home reception too so this would come in so handy to not have to rent linens twice!! But I have no idea what I would need to even order:)
  8. Not at all! If you book through a tour group (through a travel agent) I would definately recommend putting down deposits right away from the people you know are coming for sure or who you want to for sure be there (eg. immediate family and wedding party), even before you send out your invites if you have to.... And also try to hold onto as many extra seats for other people that may want to book later on. We're getting married April 5th, 2011 and the tour group we booked through is already sold out and it's still 5 months away...luckily for us we had a lot of people book early, but everyone else who wants to come now unfortunately has to pay more. I doubt you'll have the same issues as us though! There's still tons of time:)
  9. Yay! That's so great - I'm glad that you were able to get more seats for your guests! I'm sure it will all turn out in the end:)
  10. Hi!! I had a great experience at The Bridal House, but their destination dresses were over my budget..... Then we went to Beautiful Bride on McLeod Trail, they were having a sample sale. I had a really bad experience, felt very uncomfortable, but ended up getting a dress from there since it was such a great deal (and it was a beautiful dress!!). I would have liked to try other places still but the sale was ending and we had to jump on it if we wanted the dress. It all happened so fast!! I can't let myself try on any other dresses now because I would probably end up being that girl with 2 or 3 or 4 dresses.... LOL!! If only we could have it all!!!
  11. We're doing a TTD at Dunn's River Falls after the wedding...I then have an AHR (at home reception) I wanted to wear it to also. I don't know if I'll have the room to take 2 dresses with me - has anyone worn their dress again after the TTD? Does it hold up OK? I'm not worried about it getting slightly ruined, I just want it to look OK in pictures again for the AHR. Sorry if I missed the answer somewhere already:) Thanks!!
  12. Hi futurejohnson, We have had the exact same problem as you! We booked through Sunquest also. We have now lost all of our seats at our group rate because the flight is "sold out" and people now have to pay $400 more now to get a seat. We are still 5 months away from our wedding so we were very upset about this. We've had 43 people book already, but have several more that still want to come, who may not now due to the increased cost. When we signed up we put a deposit down to hold onto 10 seats also, but the extra that weren't sold were taken back from us just last week so now we aren't holding onto any spots for additional guests. You'd think since we've given them so much business already that they'd pull some strings for us, but apparently not. From what I understand, this is how Sunquest works: -Sunquest charters fly with WestJet airlines -When WestJet adds a flight, they sell a large "block" of seats to Sunquest before making them available to the public (for example 40% of the plane) -Sunquest gets these seats at very large discount, and they can then sell them to the public at the great discount group rates -Once all of Sunquest's alloted seats are used up, they need to put in a formal request to WestJet for more seats on the plane if a group needs more seats -WestJet charges Sunquest a fee per seat, which is then passed along to us the consumers (eg, the extra $50-400 you were told about) The thing to keep in mind, is that the plane is not actually "sold-out", only Sunquest's portion. WestJet flies to Jamaica several times a day, so your travel agent should be able to get people there on the flight or another one. And also, it's likely that the trip will still be cheaper using your group rate and the additional fee than paying for the entire trip separately. Apparently from what I've heard, next year is one of the busiest destination wedding years they've seen in quite a while, which is why seats are selling out so quickly. Unfortunately there's not much you can do except for encourage people to reserve their spot if they want to come. I've been to destination weddings before and talked to other people and nobody has ever had this problem in past years. They've all had people book last minute and still get the group rate. It is totally unfair, we weren't told this may happen and were given no notice, just all of a sudden the group rate was gone. But there's nothing that we can do about it now.... So to any new brides out there - If you are booking with Sunquest, get your guests to pay their deposits ASAP!!! This could happen to you too!!!
