Hi ladies!! I'm back!! What an amazing trip:) I had the best time of my life! Congrats to all the ladies who just got back - Brandy - I love the picture of you on the boat - that's hot! Laura, Tiera and Tenny - you all looked beautiful too:) To all the ladies leaving soon - don't worry about the little details, it will all work out in the end:) I don't have many pictures yet, I will have to get them from my family, but here are two from our trash the dress session!! So much fun!!

Happy April ladies!! I am so excited / anxious - we leave tomorrow!! Eeek! I'm so happy that I had you ladies for support and feedback! I know you will all have beautiful weddings! My wedding wouldn't be the same without you all! Everyone I've talked to about all my projects think that I have spent hours and hours designing and crafting but people sharing their ideas has made it so easy!! I can't take all of the credit! Anyways, see you in two weeks! I can't wait to share my day and read about all of yours!!

I hear ya! I am waiting for one last item from Etsy, that I ordered over a month ago, and I leave in 2 days....apparently it's been in customs since March 9th. I'd get out there and pick out something that you can find locally to use as a back-up so that if your package doesn't arrive you will at least have something...that really sucks!
-
Oh Meggers, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope that he recovers quickly...

Mocha, you have no idea how good it feels to hear you say that! My FI is frustrating me so much right now...I really thought that coming up to the wedding I would feel more in love than ever, but I just want to scream right now. He hasn't helped with the wedding AT ALL, and to top it off, he has been off work and at home for 2 MONTHS! I have been working full time, away for 2 conferences, plus organizing all the wedding stuff in the evenings, plus trying to get a workout in when I can. And he either complains that he doesn't like what I'm doing, so I go back and change it or he doesn't offer to help, and the ONE THING I asked him to do - make a music playlist - he can't even do that on his own! I had to sit with him for an entire night picking out music (which granted, was fun), but I paid for all the music to download onto iTunes, all he had to do was burn the CD and instead he started downloading all these other programs and farting around on the computer for like 4 hours, and he hasn't even made the CD! His best man arrives today and they're going to be doing "guy" stuff until we leave now, so I can pretty much count on getting ZERO help from him now. I am soooo tired. I feel like I'm getting sick, and I still have a huge list of things to do and we leave in 4 days. Crappy day. Sorry for the vent ladies!!

Oh! I totally want to, I guess my dillema is whether to even pack the white ones....I don't want a good new pair of shoes to go to waste
-
Awesome, thanks so much! That's a great idea to take a few extras too.... Caramilk.pub

I have a dilema - I can't decide which shoes to wear!! I'm going to wear these for the ceremony on the beach (I actually bought these 9 years ago for one of my first dates with my FI!! I wanted to get new ones for the wedding but couldn't find anything I liked, so after washing these up they look like they'll do just fine) But for the reception and dance I have 2 pairs: I love the purple ones and they would be my first choice, but I'm also doing a TTD session so they would be AWESOME for that....although I think the white ones are really pretty too.... What do you girls think? Thanks!
-
I forget who posted it - but the caramilk bar wrapper was awesome and I changed my mind and am totally going to copy you and am doing that for the gift offering at the reception instead. I was going to make up little white boxes and fill them with candy with a ribbon and tag, but that idea required a lot of assembly once we get there - this I can finish super quick and have it DONE before I go!! THANK-YOU WHOEVER YOU ARE!!
-
You said it!!

That sucks that you ladies are having sister drama. I really hope that they can let it go and pull themselves together for you on your wedding day at least! I would lose it if I had to be consoling to somebody on my wedding day...
-
Laura - that sounds like an awesome surprise!! Good for your family to keep it secret!!

I've started packing tonight! So exciting - it's getting so close! We leave in 5 days!! I think I'm almost done everything that needs to be done, I just have a few little things to do this week - a little shopping and a few last minute-DIYs!
-
For the supplies - I don't think it was over $40. I ended up buying way too much stuff and so I took some supplies back and have lots of extra ribbon. What I USED was this: 2 rolls of flower tape 1 roll of flower wire - I only needed a little of this 1 box of pearl pins (put down the stems on the flowers and will use to attach bouts and corsages) Ribbon: 2 rolls white (I used wide ribbon, but overlapped it quite a bit), 1 roll dark green and 1 roll each light green and purple (accents) 1 package of small Starfish charms Glue gun (to seal the ends of the ribbons - they have one for $2 at Michaels, I'm taking it with me to Jamaica to fix anything that may come lose) You also will need some good wire cutters to cut through some of the stems (we already had these) To transport them I found 2 plastic boxes that fit them perfectly - and I will just stuff small stuff in the extra spaces. The boxes were $5 each at London Drugs. If they squish a little it's OK, we can re-shape them when we get there. They fit into a suitcase easily, and there was lots of room left to pack with other stuff. Hope that helps! It is a lot of work, but it was fun putting it all together....get your mom/friends to help you with the ribbon and pushing in the pins!! That part takes a lot of time..

I just posted pictures of my bouquets, had to share with my April girls!! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/71108/my-diy-bouquets-and-bouts#post_1571165

I absolutely love orchids and wanted an orchid bouquet, but I was shocked at how much they cost! Also, since we are having an AHR when we get back, I decided to make my own real-touch bouquets - they were way cheaper, and I can use them more than once, and even keep forever if I want! My colours are purple and green - so I wanted to incorporate that. The bridesmaids will be wearing purple, so I made their bouquets mostly green and the groomsmen get purple bouts to go with their beige jackets. I also threw together a couple of corsages for our mothers and grandmother coming to the wedding. The flowers (with the exception of the corsages) are from Afloral.com, the blue starfish I got from a shop online (can't remember where) and the supplies and everything else I got from Michaels. I'm really happy with how everything turned out! And I saved over $500! This was the inspiration pic: This is my bouquet: The bridesmaids bouquets: The boutaneirs: And all together: And here's a picture of the corsages:

Greys - what a scary thing to go through, that can get your mind running pretty fast! I'm so glad that everything turned out OK and you had a great time at your shoot. Meg - those pictures are hot girl!! Sherri - that's really cute that your FI couldn't pick a favorite pose! I bet that felt good;) Brandy - one day left of work!! So lucky!! I'm sure your dress will come out looking great - mine is still at the seamstress also and I leave Apr 2....eek! I FINALLY finished all my bouquets and bouts last night! Putting them together was so easy, but the finishing touches took forever! I'll post some pics today! My countdown: 6 days left of work...or less, we'll see what I can get done! 10 days until we leave 13 days until we wed!!

I have a friend who has made several photobooks using www.blurb.com and the quality is very very good. I think they are a bit more pricey however....
-
http://www.weddingfavours.ca/ I called them because I only have 10 days until we leave, and they assured me I would have them by next week, even with the cheapest shipping option. I didn't think I would actually be able to order anything online this close to the wedding! Fingers crossed that they even arrive!! I think we might be lucky though since they're a Canadian company... Quote: Originally Posted by hutchets Where did you order your parasols from?

I just ordered some parasols to take with us for pictures - our colours are purple and green but those colours were sold out - so I got a white one for me and yellow ones for the bridesmaids (who are wearing purple). Do you girls think that will look OK?

Ha ha, I know what you mean:) My Dad too!!
