Michelle May 2012 Location Unknown - suggestions?
mexicobride422 replied to mscaduto's topic in Newbies!!
Congrats on your engagement ladies.. I just thought I would share my story, since I too am really in the beginning stages.. My fiance and I wanted to have our wedding in Jamaica-- Couples Sans Souci to be exact.. We were there two years ago and absolutely loved it! But I was really worried it might be too expensive for my guests.. Also, since it is an adults only resort, I didn't want to force guests to leave their kids at home.. Last summer we went to Cancun and had an amazing time so we decided to have our wedding there.. The flight from NY isn't too long and there were so many hotels to choose from. We finally went with the The Royal in Cancun for the ceremony and cocktail hour and The Gran Caribe for our reception.. Both are all inclusive.. The Royal is adults only.. The Gran is family oriented.. And they are right next door to each other..Wedding activities will be taking place in both.. And we love how guests can choose between an expensive or more affordable option.. -
I am also getting married at The Royal/Gran Caribe and our package includes a photographer.. With only 24 pictures.. Which I think is so ridiculous=/ I have been researching photographers like crazy.. Someone on the forum suggested Photos in Cancun.. After looking at their website I must say I am so impressed with their work.. and their prices!! We can have two photographers ALL DAY and have all the pictures on a CD for $1,500.. I have yet to find a better deal... As far as the resort fee.. I will probably book a room at the Gran for the night so I can do a TTD session in the morning-- if I get the fiance to agreee...

Good morning fellow Gran brides:) A few days ago, I posted a new thread asking for some help.. My fiance and I will be doing a site visit this August and I have to choose three options from salad, soup, entrees, and dessert.. I asked my fellow brides for some insight.. Since we can only choose three to taste I would love to hear your experience with any of the dishes.. So far no one has responded=/ So I thought I would ask the question here! What menu options did you taste? Choose? Thanks ladies!

These are so cute! Thank you for sharing.. I had planned on buying plain totes and having something embroidered on them.. But now I'm not so sure!! It's nice to see that they have bags with such pretty prints.. And for a dollar! -
Hi ladies:) My fiance and I are currently in the process of narrowing down our menu options for our upcoming food tasting this August.. We will only be going for the day, staying at Secrets Silversands since it was significantly cheaper, so we will not be able to try the dishes in any of the restaurants.. I am not sure if they are even offered in restaurants or just offered for weddings.. ANYWAYY.. I know there have been many wonderful brides on here who were married at the resort and I am hoping that I can get some feedback on any of the dishes below.. I know that food and taste is really unique but I'm hoping to get any feedback or even some pictures! (That would be amazing.. LOL) Seeing as fiance and I can only taste three dishes from each course, any opinions would be soooo appreciated.. So if any past brides or future brides who have done a site visit can provide some insight I would be forever grateful:) Salad Course -Spring Salad with Goat Cheese and Almond Oil -Royal Seafood Salad with Plum and Peach Oil -Three Lettuces Salad with Tomato and Warm Watercress -Tomato Salad with Grilled Zucchini -Caribbean Salad with Shrimp au Smoked Pineapple and Jasmine Flower Pesto Soup -Oysters Cream Soup with Fried Leek -Clam Chowder with Garlic Croutons -Princess Cream Soup with Green Asparagus -Cream of Vegetable Soup -Clam Chowder with Chopped Vegetables au White Wine Flavor Maine Course -Bellavista Chicken Breast Stuffed with Salmon and Mushrooms -Beef Fillet Tournedo with Three Pepper Sauce -Lamb Chops Perfumed with Fresh Spearmint -Chicken Breast Casablanca with Seafood and Covered Almond Sauce -Beef Fillet Tournedo with Fresh Wild Mushroom Sauce -Florentine Fish Fillet Stuffed With Bell Peppers and Spinach Sauce Dessert -Hazelnut mousse with chocolate sauce -Cheesecake with Chocolate -Fruit Mousse with Warm Chocolate Sauce -Paris Chocolate Shell Stuffed with Fruit -Cannoli Trio Stuffed with Prailine and Raspberry Keep in mind.. This is the list after we have already narrowed down the menu.. LOL Thank you ladies and thanks again!!

I received the same email last week.. Word for word actually (lol).. At first I was a little disappointed but I quickly sent my new coordinator Maritza an email and she responded to me immediately.. I'm just happy that all of the basecamp messages Angie and I sent are still there for the new coordinator to read.. Just in case there are any discrepancies. I will admit that the past few days we have been emailing each other regularly so crisis diverted:)

Great job.. I didn't know there was a way to make a monogram on your own.. I will def be looking for that thread! I love 2 and 3.. Intertwining palm trees and the heart shape are very symbolic and perfect for this very special occasion.. If I had to pick one I would say 3.. I love the font you used and the colors.. Thank you for the inspiration and happy planning!

Teira-- I ABSOLUTELY LOVED READING YOUR THREAD! EVERYTHING LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL.. I bookmarked the page to show my fiance:) We are getting married next April and are currently *arguing* over our colors.. He wants sea green/blue.. I want pink and orange.. He just doesn't see the concept.. The other day I compromised and told him we could have blue and green, but after reading your thread I just fell in love with the color combination again! I hope you have a wonderful wedding! I will be looking forward to reading your review when you get back!!

KathyW-- I am so excited for you..! I can't wait until I am only weeks away until my wedding.. I would be so grateful for any news and advice you bring back from your wedding! I have been peaking in on the beach webcam around 5:00 to see exactly how the sun is setting.. My fiance thinks I am crazy.. LOL.. We are having a beach ceremony at The Royal, followed by our cocktail hour by the gazebo and our reception at Villas Terrace at The Gran.. Were hoping to do a site visit this summer but prices are so expensive=/ I would love any pics or insight that you may have.. Melissa- I am so sorry for your bad experiences:( Crossing my fingers that things will be less stress-free from this point on.. So far, we have signed the wedding contract.. My WC (Angie S.) set up the basecamp account and was pretty good with responding to my questions.. BUT.. two weeks ago I sent her an entire list of questions and she has yet to respond to me.. I had read from other ladies how horrible their WC's were during the planning process and I thought I got lucky with Angie.. I emailed her again this past Friday and she emailed me back immediately saying that she was very sorry and that she was going to be completely honest with me that she is extremely busy planning this April/May weddings and that she would get back to me over the weekend.. It's now Thursday and still no response... I completely understand she is busy and I don't want to get all psycho bridezilla, but I do want to just get certain things out of the way.. I am glad you brought up the menu.. At first she told me that I was only allowed to pick one entree (which is completely ridiculous) and after begging her she finally allowed two... But my fiance is really unhappy about it (rightfully so) and doesn't understand why we can't be allowed three options, if we are going to keep track of everything and make the place cards.. How did you handle this situation? I would love any advice! I will private message you if I think of anything.. I hope thats okay!! Congrats to you both!

Hi ladies:) Although I have been lurking around this site for a few months, it wasn't until about ten minutes ago that I became an official Royal Cancun bride! I am sooooo excited!! My fiance and I will be getting married on April 22, 2012 (our seven year anniversary!) Even though I literally just put down the deposit, I am already wondering if I made my first mistake.. We really want our ceremony to take place just as the sun is setting and its a bit on the "cooler" outside.. The wedding coordinator advised me that my requested time of 5:00 would be too late and that by the time the ceremony would be over it would be too dark to take pictures... So we now have a 4:00 ceremony.. Which I feel is so early.. I have checked the sunset times for April and on average its about 530pm... Now I am just confused.. HELP! Would a 5:00 ceremony be too late?

Congratulations:) Â I too was stuck between The Royal and Moon Palace.. In the end I based it on the fact that The Royal is one of the best resorts in Cancun.. And I really liked that I could give my guests the option of staying at the more affordable sister resort next door.. So far the WC has been very helpful.. We email back and forth at least twice a day.. I have heard that after you put the deposit down communication tends to be a lot slower but I am not too worried about.. There is only so much planning you can do from here.. Just make sure you ask all the important things before you put the deposit down.. I have read from many brides that you can just go down there a few days before and finalize all the small details.. Hope this helps!

I'm sorry.. I'm in a similar situation with my parents.. But our wedding isn't for another year and a half so I'm hoping they will change their minds.. I think the best thing you can do is sit down and speak with them and find out what is going on.. Attending their son's wedding is not something that can be so easily dismissed and I do agree with the other ladies that there has to be a reason behind their behavior.. In the mean time you continue planning and enjoying this entire process and just be there for your hubby-to-be..
