Irritated that DH does very little for the wedding!!!!
mexicobride422 replied to Amara3CUS's topic in Just venting or funnies
I'm sorry that you're so stressed out! It must be so hard to juggle school, work, and planning a wedding.. My fiance and I have been engaged for almost a year but we are really just in the beginning stages of planning.. I picked the resort (showed him pics and told him about the reviews and he liked so we just immediately booked).. Ive been in contact with our wedding coordinator..I've done our wedding website.. I chose three STD's and together we picked our favorite.. We officially have eleven months to go.. I know it seems like a lot of time but I just feel so unprepared.. He gets upset with me when I get stressed out over "the small stuff".. I just want everything to be perfect.. And lets face it.. It's the small details that make people go WOW! He just wants good food and music..lol.. I learned that its best to bring up things one at a time.. I used to bombard him with every aspect of the wedding and that would lead to fighting.. So now I just break it up.. This weekend we worked on the food menu and finalized our food options for our food tasting/site visit this summer.. To be honest, I thought planning a DW would be less stressful than planning a traditional wedding.. But I guess it's just a different kind of stress.. My advice to you is to just let him know that you need him.. You don't want to not say anything and then have all this built up resentment for your fiance.. As stressful as it is this should also be a happy time for you.. So just be honest and open with him and tell him you need more help! Good luck and keep us posted! -
SMB brides, my fiance and I were at Maroma last summer.. It was awesome! It was our first choice for our wedding but a lot of our guests want to bring their kids so we wanted to accommodate them.. We will be going to SMB for our honeymoon though and I cannot wait to do our TTD session at the abandoned hacienda down the beach.. While we were there we witnessed a wedding and it was so beautiful.. It was really that moment that made us decide to have a DW wedding.. You girls will not be disappointed! The beach, rooms, service, food were just PERFECTION!

kelly thanks for the post! i just emailed my fiance a link of MW and a suit I think he would look amazing in.. LOL.. -
I agree with the ladies.. It doesn't matter if you're 40 or 80.. Your wedding day is all about you and what makes you feel beautiful.

I've been using ProActiv for the past two years.. I've never had acne just a few breakouts a few times a month.. But since I've started using it I haven't had any breakouts.. Maybe the occasional breakout during that time of the month.. But even that rarely happens.. When I went away and stopped using it for two weeks last summer I did breakout.. But I'm not sure if that's because I stopped using it or what other factors played a role.. I can tell you that I love the way my skin looks and feels and that's why I will continue to use it.. But the ladies are right.. Keep looking and you'll just know what makes you feel good too.

Chitown bride I'm sorry to hear about your situation.. You must already be feeling so stressed out over the wedding being just three months away and trying to get everything done.. On top of all that now dealing with this falling out with your sister is probably driving you crazy:( I wish I had some good advice for you.. How was your relationship before the whole silver shoes thing happened? Because it seems so silly to start a fight over a pair of shoes and I don't get why she would purposely go against your wishes.. Sometimes its not so much the things we fight over but what happens after the fight.. I know me and my sister are both so stubborn and we hate making the first move first.. But I can't imagine not speaking to her for more than a few days.. You are right to be upset and angry because this has gone on for far too long.. If it were me I would try and be the bigger person and call her and say " Look.. This has gone on far too long and I am making an effort to make it right.. I can't imagine getting married and you not being fully supportive of me on that day.. And being supportive means being there.. looking happy.. and wearing whatever I want you to.. LOL.. " I hope it works out.. keep us posted!

I think you should def talk to your family.. It is your special day and you have every right to have the final say in what activities and events take place.. I personally like the idea of a slideshow.. I always cry when I watch them at weddings.. It's just so beautiful to watch the journey of a couple throughout the years and how much they have changed while growing up together.. If we were having a traditional wedding, I know my sister (MOH) def would have tried to surprise me with a slideshow, but now that were having a destination wedding I am not sure how the whole getting the audio/visual devices set up would be.. So I'm going to make a nice slideshow for our wedding website.. I personally don't feel like pressure to entertain our guests.. The reception is three hours long, which I know will fly by! Between the first dance, dances with parents, and a four course meal I think the guests will entertain themselves with dancing and drinking and taking pictures.. If it's in our budget I would love to have a few fire dancers..

Personalized Beach Towels
mexicobride422 replied to Shakara's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I would love to do personalized beach towels too.. But I'm worried about carrying everything over to the resort... =/ And I know all resorts now offer beach towels anyway-- so I guess I can think of something else for OOT bags.. But these are lovely! -
Weight Loss/Fitness Support for 2012 Brides!
mexicobride422 replied to perry1217's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Hi ladies:) I can't believe I haven't seen this thread before today!! My wedding is next April-- so I have 11 months to go.. I just bought my wedding dress (its a beautiful Maggie that I am absolutely in love with!) It's not that I want to lose weight-- ten lbs at most.. I have a tiny waist but being Greek have very wide hips and I would like to tone up and slim down a little.. Not so much to look better in my dress but in those little bikinis I plan on being in! The biggest obstacle standing between me and the me I want to be is that I love food.. and oh yeah hate exercising=/ My sister is also "dieting" but she's one of those girls that complains she's fat and you just wanna throw something at her because if she lost even one lb she'd completely disappear:)~ LOL. But right now she's my diet buddy-- but still it's not the same.. I just have this idea of what I want to look like..I know it's a life style change and not just some crash diet... I am glad I found you girls.. Keep your success stories coming because they truly are inspirational! -
Congratulations! Waiting a week or two does seem like a long time.. I know my wedding planner often tells me that May and June they are swamped with weddings at the resort... But still, communication shouldn't be that slow! I would give them til Monday and then you should call the resort!

What have I learned from planning a destination wedding?
mexicobride422 replied to shellb's topic in Random Thoughts
Well, let's just say that our decision to have a destination wedding wasn't welcome by all.. I learned almost immediately which people in my life are truly unconditionally supportive. Those are the people that I want to be there on our special day.. Whether its ten people or a hundred.. The ones that you matter to will go above and beyond to be there for you. In the end even if it was just my fiance and I, it will still be the greatest day of my life. -
My fiance and I will be getting married in Cancun.. I'm not sure what were going to do about a honeymoon.. Maybe Riviera Maya.. But now that you ladies mentioned Belize its def something to look into..
