Hi ladies.. So I feel so dumb even asking this but I honestly don't know.. LOL.. My fiance and I are getting ready to send out our STD's.. Envelopes have been stuffed.. Addresses collected.. Now we are at a total loss for how to actually write out the addresses? Do we hand write them ourselves? Print something from some kind of label maker? I feel like such a noob=/ LOL.. HELP! What did you do??

Hello fellow Royal brides:) Most of your weddings are coming up so soon!! We have a while to go.. Less than 11 months to go.. I heard many brides have brought in an outside photographer and avoided the vendor fee.. I would love if someone can offer some suggestions on how this was done!? Also, how did you brides handle travel accommodations for guests? We are not sure if we should get a travel agent, book through the hotel and take advantage of the discount wedding rate for the rooms, or use EXPEDIA (or other travel site).. What did you do?!

J-ME-- I have yet to find a twin date on the forum.. You're the closest:) We wanted the 21st because its a Saturday and our guests could just leave the day after to get back home for work, school, etc.. But the 22nd is our anniversary so we really wanted to keep that date.. It's too special to us.. How it the planning going so far.. I'm just getting all the STD's ready..

I love the cupcake idea!! I personally hate cake.. I wish we could have an ice cream cake, but being on the beach and all that may be a problem LOL. I think cupcakes are just soooo cute and something different that guests would enjoy.. I know our resort offers a cupcake cake.. The first layer is a small piece of cake and then below it are like layers of cupcakes! so cute..

I don't think you are overreacting at all! I would have been so pissed.. It is the thought that counts, but still.. The fact is they didn't put any thought into it.. Rather their lack of thought showed that you weren't worth getting a present for.. I hope you get enough money from the gift to go our to a nice dinner with your hubby!

Although we haven't sent out invitations yet, my mother informed me today that her siblings would not be making any effort to come to our wedding.. Which makes me feel guilty, because I know she would want them there.. Our wedding is about ten months away.. They have known since last summer that we were having a DW, so I hate that they are using financial difficulties as an excuse.. Granted, I know that a lot of my family is not doing so well financially.. However, when they decide to take vacations and spend money on other things they don't seem to be too worried about financed then.. It's just BS.. ANDD BREATHEE.. Sorry got a little carried away for a second.. In the end, I don't care who comes.. All I need is my fiance.. <3

At first, I didn't want a bridal shower either.. I honestly don't know anyone who actually enjoys going to them... So I just know everyone would be bored out of their minds.. LOL.. But since we are having a DW and my family will not be able to attend, I figured this is a compromise.. My sister loves planning parties and she promises me that it won't be boring or stuffy.. Plus, it is a great way to get some of the things you need for your new life..

I am almost two years older than my fiance.. He loves to joke around that I am robbing the cradle.. I am 26 and he is turning 25 in November.. The funny thing is I look like I am 18 and people think he is in his 30's.. I get carded every time we go out.. Once I was buying tickets to a rated R movie and the lady asked to see my ID.. My fiance and I are planning to pay for the entire wedding ourselves.. One of the reasons why we chose to have a DW was so that our parents wouldn't be burdened with the financial cost of a traditional wedding.. It does make me mad to hear all your stories about well off in-laws not contributing or offering to help!! It sucks that sometimes our families can be so horrible to us during what should be such a happy times in our lives.

Ever since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to get married on the beach.. I always thought this would be impossible, since my family is very religious and traditional.. Throughout our six year relationship, my fiance and I have been fortunate enough to travel all over the world.. So much of who we are as a couple is because of our many journeys together.. Last August, while we were at Secrets Maroma Beach, we saw a wedding taking place on the beach and we just both had that moment like "this is it..." You could just feel all the love and romance.. It was so intimate and beautiful.. So, even though we are going against tradition and family expectations, we just know this is how we want to begin our new life together..

I absolutely love this thread.. My confession: I have become so stressed out about money.. It's not even paying for the wedding that I am worried about but everything else.. Affording a place to live.. Buying furniture.. Pots and pans and a couch! I've been unemployed for about a year and my fiance tries to assure me that everything will be okay.. But it's just so depressing sometimes.. I'm a Licensed School Guidance Counselor and the hiring freeze in the NYC Board of Education is ruining my life!

I can't wait to get there either!! Today is a lazy Sunday with nothing planned sooo 150 here I come!! [hopefully]

I teared when I read this..I've been quite emotional lately-- crying like a baby on every episode of Say Yes to The Dress and during every romantic comedy.. I just can't wait for our wedding day to come.. 329 days according to my desktop countdown<33 I feel the same exact way about my fiance as you ladies do about yours.. It is easy to forget in the midst of wedding planning or just life in general how lucky were are to have found the one person in this world who makes us feel absolutely beautiful and perfect.. As much as I am looking forward to our wedding, I simply can't wait for our marriage to begin.
