Site visit confirmed! March 4 - 6! The OWNER of the hotel called us to confirm, and he was more than amazing and accommodating for our somewhat last minute requests. Are any of you getting married that weekend? I wonder if I will get to see a beautiful wedding while I am there!

LaraJo- Those are great prices for your flower arrangements. If you wouldn't mind posting sample pics, that would be much appreciated! Also, I understand from your posts that you did a site visit. Do you think it was worth it to do so? I am trying to convince my FI that takinga weekend to just go get everything done and decided is better than me wasting hours fretting about details forever. Me too! I have my photographer (Sungold Associates), but I am debating whether to also have a videographer and am having a hard time finding recommendations. Any one know of anyone?

Fantastic news! They switched me also to Camille H., and she has been great. A HUGE improvement from before, and so far no complaints! She has been super responsive, and is funny and attentive. I feel so much better with her in charge. Good to know other brides using her have had the same good experiences so far.

Meitra, Was the steel band you used the one through the resort? Kerry had originally told me it was only 1 steel pan player, but your picture showed 2. I want 2, so I just want to make sure you used the same band through the resort. Did you have them play at your ceremony? Or just cocktail hour? If you had them play at your ceremony, what music did you choose? Sorry for all the questions. I just really want a steel pan for the ceremony and I want to make sure what I am envisioning in my head is what actually can happen! Thanks!

Im a December 2011 bride, and you have done way more than I have! The only advice I received from my hotel was that Negril brides should book their photographer as early as possible, since they book up quickly. I booked with one of the Sungold Associates. But other than that, I pretty much just waste time browsing the internet for ideas. No decisions yet. As for STD and invites, I emailed my closest friends/family and told them which hotel, the costs, the dates, etc. Most of them booked. We are going to send out the more formal (and by formal, I just mean not an email) STD to all invitees after the holidays. I am not sure when the actual invitations will go out.

Rpingree001, do you mind sharing the name of your specific dw.com coordinator? We spent over an hour on the phone with the corporate office again requesting a new coordinator, because ours (Barbara) keeps quoting inaccurate information, and I got more stressed calls from guests yesterday.... we are pleading desperately with dw.com to just provide us a new coordinator since we are trapped with the company.... maybe if we have the name of a good coordinator, we might actually have a decent turnout at the wedding. I am so stressed and upset about everything... and I am generally a laid back person. I dont really care about any details for the wedding, I just want my guests to get the correct quotes on costs, deposits, and cancellation fees!

Oh how I wish I could go back in time to change my decision to use destinationwedding.com. The only good thing is the fee is the low cost of $50, but the $50 only buys you more headache. We signed up with the website already knowing what hotel we wanted to book. We are doing a hotel resort takeover, so I paid the deposit to the hotel, and all destinationwedding.com had to do was take the $$$ from our guests for their rooms and keep track of who was in what room. We had at least 20 guests ready to pay right away. Unfortunately, after talking with our coordinator, everyone freaked out and is now hesitant to come. OUr coordinator gave everyone wrong information about the room prices, the deposits, the cancellation fees, etc. The majority of my wedding planning time is actually spent correcting the coordinator's mistakes and reassuring our guests. When we finally contacted destinationweddings.com corporate office to request a new coordinator, they simply patched us back through to the coordinator, who spent an hour telling us that our guests were lying to us. I am sorry, but I trust my family and friends who I have known my entire life over a coordinator I have never met. We have no animosity towards the coordinator personally. She is perfectly nice. We just want someone who: (1) can accurately quote hotel prices, deposit information, and cancellation fees; (2) tells all guests the correct information in a consistent manner; and (3) when we have concerns, offers solutions rather than blames everyone but herself. I so wish we could just fire them and deal with the hotel directly, because the hotel's coordinator has been AMAZING, but unfortunately 17 of our guests have already booked through destinationwedding.com, and I dont want them to lose their deposit money. So future brides and grooms.... learn from my mistakes. The $50 fee that woos you, the politeness of your first few phone calls... all of it just disguises that they are unorganized, have nothing really to offer you that you couldnt do yourself, and will never try to fix anything. I am so disappointed that I am stuck with them. I so wish I had it to do all over again......

We chose "GB" as our first choice; not sure his name, at the time I was booking everyone was listed by their initials only. I put down "R" as my second choice. I liked both of their portfolios online, so I would be happy either way! So excited!

I have heard nothing but rave reviews abotu MDC, so I am crazy excited. The resort told me they do airport transfers, but I guess it doesnt hurt to have a backup plan. Thanks MZthan6! Since you have been there several times, please feel free to share any expertise about good places to go in Negril! I think a lot of my guests are staying for a full week, so I was hoping to give them some suggestions on things to do outside of the wedding activities. Thanks in advance!

Any wedding decoration in bright green you have to sell ... let me know! No sage, no aqua, no turquoise... bright green. Sadly, it is amazingly hard to find stuff in the color I envision.
