  1. @chelseapaige37 Oh my gosh I love #1!!! It's so pretty!! I'm into the bling, so 2, if it's plain in the front, won't do it for me! lol 3.... I'm iffy on. I love Essense designs and have actually picked out a couple of their's that I really like and will probably try on to see how they look. This one I just don't know. Again, I think it's the lack of bling. Otherwise it's gorgeous and looks fabulous on you!!
  2. We just carried ours in our carry on. I put them together into a little pouch and hubby had them in his bag.
  3. I know I'm taking styling trio. I've already decided that. I just need to get to that point this fall to know for sure that we're able to go ahead next year so that I can book them!
  4. oh my gosh I like your photos!! I got married in Jamaica on the 20th of October. My hair is about collar length, or maybe a bit longer and I begged the stylist to find a way to put my hair up. It was jus too hot. Our ceremony was at 1pm, so that makes a big difference too, compared to 4 or 5 pm Plus in Jamaica they have this hairspray that they say is just like cement so it keeps your hair in place. I wish now I had been able to have it down. I did for our AHR and I liked it a lot better. I'm trying to grow it our for our renewal or do extensions. I would really like longer hair down or a half up half down. And yes it definitely gets windy down on the beach! So something to keep in mind. If you can do something to keep it out of your face, whether up or down, that's the best thing!
  5. gee those are nice bags. How many do you need? here's another site where the price is just a little bit lower, which may help and I think there are one or two brides here that have bought them from this site: https://www.sassyapparelblanks.com/1100-Gemline-Select-Zippered-Tote?gclid=CLrUx6abor0CFUuXOgodJXoA2g
  6. lol that's a tough one! I know there are some of the body mists that will help. if you relax that will be a big help too!! what time is your wedding? if it's later in the day, it won't be quite as hot as it would be say around noon, so that will also help. you could always have your mom or somebody do a washcloth in a ziplock back for you with some ice in it. A quick wipe across the back of your neck in between pics and stuff goes a long way to cooling you down. Apparently behind your knees is another spot that if you apply something cool or cold, helps to make you feel cooler.
  7. Hi ladies. The catch to that though is that Sunwing is canadian. Things work a little differently in the US. @Nybride525 I think your travel agent, or someone on this site from Wright Travel would be the best person to help you with that since you're in the US. The other thing is that they have access to deals through the resorts that they can help you with. They're specialists in destination wedding travel and have won awards as top performers with some of the resort chains. If you can, I'd check with them. Good luck!
  8. There's one that I think Keith Urban does, and then Rascal Flats too. My husband read part of it as his speech when my step daughter got married. Then of course there's Garth and The Dance. Can't beat that one. I think you need to listen to songs and pick what touches you. Can't remember the Keith Urban one, but I wanted it as our first dance but then my husband found the one we had - This I Promise You sung by Ronan Keating. That song still makes me tear up!! lol
  9. Congrats and welcome to BDW! You will most definitely find a ton of information here to help you plan your DW! I would stongly recommend that you check out all of the other forums for DRC and do some reading. I'm certain that whatever you're looking for you'll find in one of those forums. just do a search at the top for Dreams Riviera Cancun and the different forums will pop up, as well as the Resort Reviews. The reviews will be well worth reading since it will give you a perspective from other brides that have had their wedding there. Good luck, happy reading and above all happy planning!
  10. Is that something that Joyce helped you out with? I really think that's a neat idea!!
  11. If you're doing tumblers, check them out there too. There are a few girls here that raved about them!
  12. I didn't even think of that!!! lmao Excellent point!! and actually they have broken up officially now so yes - thankfully it was "before" Yikes - what a rotten mom I would be!! lol I'll figure something out. I had my heart set on turquoise chair sashes but I could always do the flowers and bouts in coral/salmon and then table decorations in that colour. The sad part is the hot pink kinda grew on me!! lol I so totally agree!! I absolutely love it. I'll never have a box from Tiffany's but I can at least have the colour!! lol
  13. Good luck! They say second time around is the best, and I'll absolutely agree. I got super lucky at my age with probably the most wonderful man in the entire world (I've decided to keep him!). After nearly 13 years he can still give me butterflies and he's sexier now than when I first met him! It most definitely gets better with age!!
  14. Definitely post pics!! lol I tried putting in the code to see and it didn't come up.... so now you really have to post pics!!! I so wanna see.......
  15. Been there, done that. Blended families.... boy the stories I could tell!! lol I have 4 kids - 2 that are mine and 2 steps. It wasn't easy in the beginning and even after 13 years, sometimes it still isn't. With the age of your 2, I would definitely just start out with the kids calling your parents Mr. and Mrs. At least to begin with and until everyone is comfortable with each other. It will depend on how often they see your parents too and how comfortable they actually get with them. You really need to tell your mom to cool it. Sounds like she means well, but kids can get very resentful if you aren't careful. My step daughter was so angry that she refused to acknowledge me for the longest time. Now I'm her step-mom. My step son accepted me almost right away, but even after 13 years still refers to me as his "dad's wife" and before that his dad"s "girlfriend". And they are quite a bit older. It also isnt' polite for kids that young to call your parents by their first name. The "nana" thing will come on its own time.
  16. I like the idea of the friend better as long as you're sure she'll be able to afford to go. The SIL sounds a bit too iffy for me and why would you want someone that is probably only going to give you grief and not go along with what you want? Just my opinion....
  17. When you say local - do you mean Mexico? (or wherever you're having your wedding) Did you know you can update your profile with the info of where and when your wedding is.
  18. Welcome to BDW! I'm sure there is someone out there familiar with Westjet. I have steered away from them only because I find they're expensive compared to some of the other charters and having travelled with both Transat and Sunwing, I prefer to stick with them. Good luck and happy planning!
  19. good question! I'm not sure lol I know on the US site, you bulk order but they're different colours. I honestly don't know about online ordering in canada. the ones I've seen so far have just gone to the stores and bought them!
  20. I can sympathize ladies, totally. We ended up being just the 2 of us for our wedding. and in the end the MOH and BM cancelled too, but only because everyone else did, and they thought they were going to end up spending more money. The way it worked out, we booked last minute and save almost $300 on the cost of the trip. Each! But it was tough. It almost split us up after almost 10 years together. Hubs was so ticked because everyone had been so enthusiastic in the beginning and they were all going. We changed our date to accommodate everyone else. In the end, it was just the 2 of us, almost on the original date that we wanted and 2 WC's as our witnesses. We had an AHR because we were upset about not having everyone in jamaica with us, but hubby wasn't onboard with that for quite a while. I had to work on him for him to agree. We are only a small group anyway because our kids are grown with kids and our parents are elderly. Family is scattered everywhere and getting on in years so we had 28 at our AHR, with a sitdown dinner. We had a DJ and everyone had a great time. It was a tough situation. I've said it before - we want everyone to be as happy for us as we are. But everyone has busy lives nowdays and with the economy, sometimes money is harder to save. The important thing is that it's you and your FI in a beautiful place. Our resort I think took pity on us and we were treated like a king and queen. It was great. Hang in there. It will all work out in the end. Happy planning!
  21. Hi ladies. Just an FYI -there are a couple of other places to get the tumblers that may save a bit of money. Dollar tree sells them for $1 each last I heard and the quality is great. You can also design your own waterproof labels and just stick them onto the tumlbers. There is a place called Davet Designs - here's the link www.davetdesigns.com . The sticker prices are really good. For the tumblers there is also http://www.discountmugs.com/product/pg201-16-oz.-freedom-facet-custom-printed-tumblers/ A few brides on here have used this site. It depends on how many you need but every little bit helps.
