Anyone Using Myfitnesspal To Get Fit For Their Wedding?
acw271011 replied to Meandhim's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Ok. I have to ask. What's a fitbit (sp)? I think I accidentally downloaded my fitness pal but I've never used it lol -
Rsvps - How Long?
acw271011 replied to jeffandrobyn's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Years ago it was almost unheard of not to RSVP to an invitation. Now it's commonplace. I just think it's rude. period. -
I know you said you have a TA but do you have a destination wedding TA? If not, I would highly recommend the agency affiliated with this site - Wright Travel. They have won awards from resort chains for their service. There is no charge to you and they specialize in destination weddings. As well, depending on the resort you pick and your number of guests, you could be eligible for resort perks that might allow you free events or credits to use towards excursions or golf or spa treatments. Definitely worth looking into. you never know until you ask. I'm in canada and we don't have access to some of these things just by virtue of being here and our travel packages are structured differently most of the time. I've added in the link below to contact them. Like I said, you never know. http://www.wrighttravelagency.com/go/plan-your-destination-wedding?keyword=BDWTB

Hi! Welcome to BDW! Of course we accept moms here!!! I'm one, just not a bride/groom mom. lol I can't help out with a price list but I would highly recommend going through the forums here for Riu Palace and see if one of the brides may have posted it there. The RIUs are popular resorts. This is a great site if you're looking for ideas and suggestions, and the ladies are more than willing to share! Do you have a good travel agent yet? That's a must for sure. Not sure where you are but there a lot of great suggestions for TAs on the site. Also, read through the resort and vendor reviews and see what past brides have said. That's also a good way to get ideas about the resort you've chosen. Happy planning!

Show us your wedding dress!
acw271011 replied to Jennifer's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Oh I LOVE that!! It's gorgeous! is that Eden? Did you get white or ivory? -
Turns out its $350 and gives you similar stuff to the Sky Deck. I still don't have the full details - they're supposed to be sending them but that was yesterday. Nothing so far today so I'll probably call again tomorrow and ask. We're going off site for dinner so Azul is ceremony only, and it's a renewal so it should be short and sweet! I'm just in love with the pier!! lol Do you stay with the person that is responding to your emails, or do they switch you over to someone else once you book?

Congrats and welcome! Have you tried reading through any of the reviews? It will give you an idea of what past brides have said about their experience. Do you have a travel agent yet? Would definitely recommend one. They'll take the pressure off in terms of guest questions and their bookings. There is a wedding planner on this site but I'm not sure if she's familiar with Cozumel or not. Maybe she'll chime in with some ideas. Happy planning!

There are a few nice restaurants right in Playa del Carmen. Have you considered any of them? I'm not sure where the Royalton is in terms of PDC. We're using a really nice one called Casa del Agua that has a rooftop terrace. There is another one that I considered too but can't think of the name right off. Could get it later if you're interested. Unfortunately it's a common theme here as to costs and I think it takes people by surprise. They do charge for pretty much everything. I almost forgot. There is also Grand Coral Beach Club. They have a beautiful setting if you want a beach wedding. Very private and a beautiful terrace for your reception.

The ladies have it totally right. There are some wonderful photographers in Mexico and a variety of prices. You need to get in touch with them and ask them for price quotes and review their websites to see if their style works for you. The vendor review section will give you some opinions of past brides that will give you an idea of who is out there. Good luck!

I've had a US account for a few years now and they're great if you travel to the US. But..... first, you can't use any kind of ATM card with it. The best thing might be a US credit card. BMO has a US mastercard which gives you preferred exchange rates. TD is now also actually IN the US so you can now open up a bank account that is located in the US. That would give you cheques and statements too. BMO also allows you to go online and transfer funds between your canadian account at your bank here and a US location bank account, or a US funds account. The good thing will all of them is that you get the preferred rates but it really doesn't amount to much, maybe half to one cent but nothing more than that. The only reason I know all of this is because my stepson lives in the US so we go very often and are always trying to find ways to save some money with going down to see the grandkids. Believe it or not when hubby and I first got together, we went to North Carolina and the dollar was at about 66 cents!! If oil continues its slide, the dollar will take a beating so as much as I hate the high gas prices, keep fingers crossed that oil goes up at least a little bit!! lol

You don't say where you are but first recommendation is get yourself a good travel agent!! Especially if you aren't sure where you want to be. They are the best person to help you find what you want, to fit with your budget and what you're looking for for your guests. There are several recommendations on the site so you could read through and figure out what works for the country you're in. There are so many wonderful resorts in the Cancun and Riviera Maya areas that to try and pick one is not an easy task. You could always read through the resort reviews here and see if any of them click with you but until you're able to get some help with the packages, it might not work for you. Good luck and happy planning!

Poll: Flower Girl Dress?
acw271011 replied to marinah84's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Oh my gosh - adorable!!!! I'm going to go against the grain here lol I love it with the sleeves, especially if she's only 3. But I'm going to say with the delicate necklace instead of the heavier one. I love the delicate jewellery on little ones. Sorry. lol I have 4 granddaughters and I know 3 of them would go nuts for that dress!! lol -
Do you think you could also post a photo of them? I don't have publisher and am curious to see how they turned out.

Fireworks?
acw271011 replied to AndreaBru's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Congrats and welcome! The Riviera Maya is a beautiful place to get married and you've come to the right place for tips and ideas. I know there are brides that have had fireworks but I think the price point varies - whether they're arranged by a resort, or an outside decor company and I seem to remember a couple of times that it was mentioned that some resorts had banned them due to the fire hazard. Definitely check with the resorts when you're doing your tours and ask them. You don't want to be in the middle of your planning and find out you can't have them. Good luck and happy planning! -
I like the idea of a bout and corsage for parents 9pin if you prefer), or grandparents if they're attending. I think it's just a signal that hey, we're happy you're here and just want to acknowledge that we appreciate it. Especially if they're kicking in money!! Nothing says they have to be fancy. just a simple basic bout is fine, but I think it's a nice gesture.
