Hi @@katja10 and welcome! I did a search on the site for posts about your resort and unfortunately didn't find much. There are quite a few for other Grand Palladium resorts so you could still do a search up top to get those threads to come up. I think they would still be worth looking through. Are you working with a travel agent? That would be your best place to start. Hopefully you have a travel agent that you're working well with but definitely ask questions. As well, you can still email the resort. They'll answer eventually but usually they do answer. it's just that weddings that are coming up immediately take their attention. If they're good at destination weddings they should be able to give you an idea of how things work. As well, what about just googling? I found the link below that is worth reading. It tells you about the packages and so on. As well you could look at trip advisor and see what is said there, aslong as you remember to take it with a grain of salt. Not everyone that posts on trip advisor is very happy so you need to realize that you just can't please some people. Keep looking around on the internet. I found pictures of weddings of your resort. There is also Pinterest. Key in your resort and see what comes up. Read as much as you can find and read reviews here from other Grand Palladium resorts. I'm sure there are some similarities that might give you some general information that you can look at and that will give you information. http://www.palladiumweddings.com/en/destination/riviera-nayarit-mexico/ Good luck!

@yycbride2016 Wow! Everything is absolutely beautiful! I'm going to apologize to you as well. I've been so MIA for a while now and I've missed so much. I'm really sorry. Your video made me cry, something I seem to do a lot of lately. It's wonderful! Your pictures are absolutely stunning! You definitely had a wonderful photographer. He really captured the love between the two of you. You look so cute together!! Your dress is gorgeous on you, and I really like your bridesmaids' dress colour. It really pops with the background! You did a fabulous review! Thank you for putting so much hard work into it! I would definitely consider your resort if I was a bride to be looking to plan. I'm so glad you had such a beautiful wedding day and a wonderful week at the resort. From your review, the photos and the video it looks like everyone had a wonderful time and you had a truly amazing wedding! Congrats on being an official Mrs!!!

@@vancouverpetunia First of all, please accept my apologies. The last couple of months have been really tough for several reasons and I've all but been kind of hiding away. I've missed all the activity here but just haven't been able to "get here". I'm really sorry. Second of all, congrats on being a Mrs!!! The pics are so cute. Loved the dress you chose. I did also really like the orange one. The colour just suited you so well, and for an early spring "legal" ceremony, it would have been really pretty. The important thing is what you chose looked beautiful on you! Everything looks just so great! You've done a fabulous job of all of it. Your dress looks stunning! Your earrings and bracelet look glam together. I'm glad you were able to get the bracelet shortened. I'm going to be the usual oddball and say that I really liked the hairband that you had but a half up/half down will be just as gorgeous with blinged out pins added to it! It will be completely wow!! The design of all of your stationary is really pretty!! I love the papel picado design and the colour is very "tropical". I know your guests will love all of it. The lemon with the card attached is totally cute!! I could even see doing something like that for a summer shower of some kind. It just jumps out at you. I'm sorry you had a bit of guest drama. Sometimes I wonder if it's the "initiation" into planning a DW. Just to see if you're going to crack or not... lol Thankfully it wasn't completely over the top. Have you been able to wiggle anything more from your WC? I really wonder sometimes if they realize how nitpicky they end up appearing to everyone. I know they have to control things or it would be completely out of control but gee - you'd think sometimes they would work with you a little more. Maybe once you're actually there and meeting you can work you charms and see what they'll help you out with. I can't believe you're so close now. All the ladies that have been here for so long and now pretty much everyone is down to the wire. Where did the time go? I'm really anxious to hear about your honeymoon.... well not THAT way lol But wherever you're staying, food, people, etc. It's at the top of my list for retiring but Doug is leaning more towards Belize just because of the language so I'm very curious to see how you make out with communication and so on. You've got this Erin. It's almost here and it's going to be magical, I know it!! As we've all said before, just remember to breathe and take at least some of it in (the pictures will help fill the gaps lol). Can't wait to hear all about it and of course see your pictures!! The next couple of days will fly!!

@melanderic2017 Congrats on planning your DW! There was a bride that was married there just this past October. You could have a look through her thread and see if there is anything there that will help you out. It's not that long ago and that resort hasn't been open very long so all of the info will be pretty recent. I started the thread below when I first found the resort but it has been added to quite a bit. It's worth a read. Good luck! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/76750-new-resort-royalton-riviera-cancun/page-12

@claireb89 I found these links that might be of help to you. They all mention divorce requirements. My first instinct would be to say take as much paperwork as you can. It's always better to have more than not enough. Yes to passports, birth certificates and try to get a certified copy of the final divorce decree. My husband and I were married in Jamaica and we were both divorced. It was fairly straight forward but we had to leave the certified copies of our final divorce decrees with the authorities in Jamaica so it's very possible NY will require the same thing. https://www.health.ny.gov/publications/4210/ http://www.cityclerk.nyc.gov/html/marriage/faq.shtml http://www.usmarriagelaws.com/marriage-license/new-york-state/city-town-clerks/office-requirements.shtml Good luck!!

@karinaL Congrats on planning your DW! Choosing your resort is the hardest part. Once that's done then you can start having a bit of fun with the planning. Isn't your TA helping you with your resort choice? You should be able to tell them what you want and they should be giving you suggestions that stay within your budget, your price point for your guests and your specific wants and don't wants. I just feel like you shouldn't be struggling with this. The one thing you'll see if you read through the threads here is that we highly recommend working with a good travel agent. Once your guests start booking, you'll need a good agent to walk them through their process. You want someone that you can refer them to when they have questions so that you don't have to do it yourself. You don't say if you're in the US or canada but the owners of this site are top rated travel agents. Tammy already suggested her link for you to contact her. I think you would be super happy if you just reached out to them. I'm sure they would be able to give you information so that you can make an informed decision about where to spend the most special day of your life! Good luck and happy planning!!

Oot Bags

@lorishultz2016 There was a bride that got married last year in the DR. I've posted her thread here. It's worth a read I think. I don't know which resort you're getting married at but maybe Kristy's thread can help you out with some ideas. Good luck! Oh yeah and her photos are absolutely stunning!! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/78626-kcole123-planning-thread-april-17-2015-melia-caribe-tropical/- 1 reply

Show Off Your Engagement Rings

@@patsy234 Hi There! That's beautiful! Congrats!! Below is the link that has been circulating on the site for quite some time. It would be cool if you added your photo of your ring there as well! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/254-show-us-your-rings/ -
@@jsalazarmtz Congrats! Blue Venado is a beautiful venue for a wedding. I know there have been a couple of brides here that have had their wedding there and the photos have been gorgeous. Definitely post a review if you can. Future brides can always use the benefit of knowledge from past brides. Don't forget too, to do a review of your vendors and post them in the review section. That's something else brides will look at so the info is always useful. Congrats on being a Mrs! All the best!

@tiffanyt I agree with the others. Go for it!! Do whatever you want. You'll have your own wording and colours and design so they will still be different. Besides - you have the cat's meow. You're the one that really is doing a DW so you're the original! I agree with @calgarybride2015 You didn't buy the same dress; you don't have the same date. It's still completely your wedding! Have at it for sure!!! Good luck!

@raenjay Hi Stephanie. I'm a BDW bride too - Jamaica 2011. But we renewed our vows this past October in Mexico for our 4th anniversary, for very specific health reasons. I have the best hubby in the world that spent a LOT of very long hours with me while I was in the hospital and by rights I shouldn't even be here. We had both our 1st and 3rd anniversaries in the hospital with "happy anniversary" written on the white board in my room! So after getting some good news from docs we decided to celebrate and renewed our vows at Grand Coral Beach Club. The fact that I'm still around to tell the love of my life how special he is made it just that much more important. Congrats on the 10 year! What better reason to renew your vows!!! And Cabo is fabulous. We love it. I'm sure it will be a super special celebration for you!

acw271011 replied to Cablelove11's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
@cablelove11 I looked at this site too but not the canvas bags. A different style. I ended up with bags from dealrack.com I think was the sit and the bags are awesome. We had a really small group though so I got away with ordering a small number. I think I ordered 8. Thanks for the review on the shipping thing you went through. It's always nice to have feedback so other brides to be are aware of what's out there. -
Don't think there's anything really that I regret except maybe that friends and family had been with us when we got married. But we had them all at our AHR so it worked out ok.

I think that date works for me. I'll confirm a bit closer.

Buffet Menu For Guests?
acw271011 replied to crodriguez03's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
@@crodriguez03 Congrats and welcome. I agree - it's completely your choice. But I would definitely have something posted somewhere so that guests know what their options are. Some resorts will post a large menu on entering the dining area that gives the choices available. I like the idea of a menu on each table that gives all of the info. You could talk to your venue and see if they'll provide that for you. -
@Emilychristine92 Congrats and welcome! First question - do you have a travel agent yet? Choosing a TA will be the best first step you can take to put your wedding planning in motion. A TA will help you with what you want and don't want and help you with your budget as well as the budget for your guests. As well, you might not realize it but by booking at a resort with your guests, you might be entitled to some additional perks. Only a travel agent experienced with destination weddings will be able to tell you that. Plus, it lets you have your time free to work on your wedding details while the TA can answer your guests questions and help them with travel arrangements. you don't say if you're in the US or canada but the owners of this site are destination wedding specialists and can assist brides to be on both sides of the border. You can contact them through this site. As Joyce mentioned, resorts require your guests to stay there in order to attend your wedding. By the sound of it, an off site venue might work better for you. Good luck!

@snswedding2016 Steph - what can I say? First, I'm so sorry I'm so far behind. Being back at work is just knocking me out and my head just hasn't been "at" this site for the last couple of weeks. I badly need to get caught up! You were an absolutely gorgeous bride!!! All your work, your attention to detail... it all came together beautifully! Wow on Sean's dad's wife.... I'll leave it at that. All I can do is shake my head. Some people.... geez. But good on you for keeping it together. I would have let her have it and damn the consequences... lol I love your pier photos! I so badly wanted to do our renewal out there and have our pics done in that spot. I was so upset when it didn't work out and AF didn't even try to help. Yours turned out fantastic!! What a beautiful backdrop! Oh - and Fabio absolutely looks like what you said and should be named Fabio Hugo-Boss. It suits him!!! I would have asked him to put his hair back! lol But you can just tell by looking at him that he's difficult..... lol Your vows made me cry! They're beautiful - both of them! I started out ok with mine.... then cracked. And I lost it totally when Doug said his. What he said was unexpected because Doug is just not an emotional guy. You and Sean are just so suited to each other and it came out so "right" in your vows. All of your photos are great!! Your review makes me want to go to AF even in spite of how they screwed things up for us!! lol I still would like to actually go to the resort! Without going all the way back in your thread, what is their outside vendor fee, and did they hit you with it for anything? Your photographer definitely did a fantastic job and I can't wait to see what Mike does for your video. It's going to be beautiful, I know it. Thanks for such a wonderful review. Future brides here are going to be thanking you for sure!! Do you believe you've been almost 2 months married????? lol

@nankleiner Hi! Welcome! Have you spoken to a travel agent yet, or have you had any other help with making your resort decision? Choosing your resort is the hardest part I think. Once you get that done, things move forward from there. But I highly recommend a travel agent. They're they ones that will help you with what you're looking for - your must haves and don't wants and they'll help with choosing a resort that offers packages that will fit with what you want. Not sure if you're in the US or canada but the owners of this site are destination wedding specialists. Wright Travel have won awards for service with multiple resort chains. You can contact them through this site. The other thing is, there is a possibility that you might be eligible for additional perks depending on the resort you choose and your number of guests, but only a travel agent would be able to determine that and advise you of what you might qualify for. I would highly recommend working with one! Grand Sunset has been a popular resort for brides to be here. If you do a search up top you should be able to get some of the review threads to pop up that you can read through. Good luck and happy planning!

Spanish Phrases For Dummies Mini Edition
acw271011 replied to klemke's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade or Freebies!
Hi @@klemke. I haven't heard anything about this little book for quite some time!! I remember it was quite popular with the brides here a couple of years ago and it was easy to get, but as I said I haven't heard anything about it for quite a while. If you do locate it somewhere definitely pass it along. I'm sure there are other brides to be that would be interested!
