Oh my gosh I love this! You're really getting close now! And I really love the second dress. It's one of the ones I've looked at but I'm in love with a keyhole back so I think - don't know for sure until I try something on - that's the style I'm going with. I love your save the dates! Who made them for you? They turned out really great!!

@@WiscoBride We're doing our vow renewal this October at Azul Fives and paying for the ceremony there, then going into Playa del Carmen to a restaurant for cocktails and dinner. Thanks to @@dreamweddings who are helping me with all the details, Joyce gave me a couple of restaurant options to consider and it has worked out perfectly for us. We're a super small group so it didn't make sense to pay for all of the extra stuff through the resort. Not for 8 people. I don't want a beach for anything except sunbathing so that wasn't an option for us. We have the terrace at AF that has a view of the water so that's pretty enough.

I know where you're coming from. I lost my mom when I was 15 way back in 1973, and on Valentine's day. I've spent more of my life without her than I had with her. Yeah, I'm dating myself here lol But honouring her is a wonderful way to have her with you. At my age, and after 42 years now, I can think of her with quiet happiness. I'll agree with all of the other ladies and tell you that you look beautiful in all of them but my vote goes with #1 and #4. I like them because they're slimming and elegant. The ball gown is elegant too, but for a destination wedding 1 and 4 get my vote. Good luck! Let us know what you pick!

We were married in Jamaica in October and the weather is fantastic. yes hurricanes were a concern but the Jamaica people love to tell you that they just pass by the island. I know Mexico gets hit more frequently but the really peak months are August and September. Fingers crossed!

Oh you're lucky! We won't get anything like that. We don't have enough people. Our agent is GI certified but there are only 6 out of Toronto. The others if they go are out of the UK. That's it at the moment but I doubt we'll add any more than that. I'm just happy we finally get to celebrate an anniversary so I'm not going to complain! lol I got email back from AF today. My designer is Ashley and she sent me pictures of the Zky Terrace so it gives me a bit of an idea of what it looks like. They said we can still do a private dinner if we want as long as we pay for the minimum people, which for a few of them is 16 so I might look into that. She didn't say - do you have to do it on your actual day? I know we can keep the semi-private dinner for another night which I'm going to do but we're doing a dinner after our renewal in Playa del Carmen. The restaurant is already reserved.

From what I've read its fine. I'm not asking them to do any setup, nobody has to deliver them. For all they know I went to a store and bought them. We do have to pay the fee for our photographer and there isn't anything we can do about that. We booked Samuel Luna - another thing off the list. I love his pics. Why couldn't you go to Styling Trio? How many are you? It can't be that difficult. They already know that they fee AF charges is outrageous. Worth looking into.

We're going to them. Being in Playa they're close enough not to worry about paying the fee twice. I booked already with Styling Trio. we just have to confirm the time and then she said we'll do a Skype conversation about 3 weeks before we go. I'm going all out and doing the trial with them too the day before. I'm going to pick up flowers at the same time on the day of. We only have 2 bouquets so again not paying the fee. I got bouts from tygrlily for the guys so that's already done and we're going off resort for dinner so center pieces will be done by our planner. like I said we're only about 8 or so. And this is something special for our anniversary. we're already married so this is very low key and not formal in any way.

My husband and I were by ourselves for our wedding in Jamaica and then had a reception two weeks after we arrived home. It worked well for us because we are quite a lot older than most of the ladies here and our kids are grown and parents and relatives are all in the 80s so a lot of guests wasn't a concern for us. In the end we had almost 30 and that was a perfect number for us. We had a private room in a restaurant and a sit down dinner with the room overlooking lake ontario. We had a DJ that was great!.We did do an entrance, cut a cake and did speeches. We had a photographer in Jamaica and we set up a slide show of the wedding pictures that ran for the evening for the reception. We did provide wine with dinner but the rest was a cash bar. Our boys can all drink quite handily and they would have put us in the poor house if we'd paid their bar bills! We did a very simple invite that I did on Vistaprint. We had a block of rooms in the hotel where the restaurant is but we asked for no kids specifically because we have grandchildren and my husband knew that if my babies were there I would have had at least one in my arms the entire nght and he wanted us to enjoy the party. Plus the restaurant room had an entire wall of windows and my grandsons can get pretty wild (actually out of control is more like it) and we didn't want anything happening to any of the windows. With being in a campground that opens up a lot of possibilities for you but I'm assuming there is a clubhouse of some kind that you're using? You could always do a cash bar. I'm reluctant to suggest a BYOB type of deal unless you know absolutely for a fact that its something that people won't be upset about. As you say, their campers will likely be stocked so asking them to pay additionally for booze may be a complication for you. Don't know if that helps or not. Good luck and happy planning!

Congrats and welcome! The first recommendation is find a travel agent! I would say that's a priority given everything that you listed. Finding a resort is intimidating and it takes someone that knows what they're doing to look at your list of must haves and translate it into something that works for you. There is one that the ladies here really like - her name is LaurieLee Rosser. You can contact her by phone at 866.509.9337 or her website is www.laurielee.ca I've had success with Marlin Travel here in Toronto as well as Tripcentral. I think everyone goes through a similar process but it's individual. You will need to decide what's important to you and what you can slide on and it's different for each bride. You would get a different recommendation from every bride here because they like what they have, likely for different reasons than yours. @ is absolutely right. March break is high season and it will be expensive for sure. Once you do find your resort, there is a ton of information here that will start you on your planning journey, and the ladies are very willing to share. Good luck and happy planning!

Ok Azul Fives ladies. Has anyone had Ashley as their design person? There isn't really much I'm going to bother with. We're only doing our ceremony at the resort, then we're going off site. But I'm thinking maybe a little bit of decoration on the Zky Terrace. I just don't know why. We can't take it with us elsewhere so I'm still undecided.

I've booked Styling Trio for our renewal. I love everything I've read about them - all good, and they have a great website. I'm definitely going for the airbrush. They use Mac products. I guess they're good, right? lol It's just my daughter in law and I so it will be fun just the two of us. I looked at your pictures and they're stunning! The Sky Desk looks so cool! I love what you did with your colours too. It went together beautifully!

Great Etsy Flower Vendor

Wow! Nice flowers! -
We've just confirmed with Samuel Luna. His work is gorgeous and I think for what he offers his prices are good.
-
Don't know what your budget is but there are several photographers that I looked into that are below the $3k mark and they're photos are beautiful! It will depend on how much time you want as well. Look through the vendor review section here under photographers and it will give you an idea of who to contact. Look at their websites and email them for pricing info. Most of the ladies here find someone who's style works with what they want. Good luck!

We're set for October 20th, 2015 but we're a really small group so don't qualify for a group rate. I'm figuring probably about $1300 only because we'll be able to book closer to last minute. it's the only way they'll let us do it. Our TA says not to even look at prices until about June or July. it would be so great if we could qualify for a group rate.... but I doubt that will happen lol We're going to be a mix of departures: Toronto, Vancouver and the UK

Thank You Card Question
acw271011 replied to calgarybride2015's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I know. I've just done our deposits to Azul Fives, Styling Trio and Samuel Luna and I think the extra with the exchange for all three was enough to almost pay someone else their deposit! it's crazy! I know it means we'll be seeing the grandkids less often if this keeps up! It may change summer vacation plans too!!
