I do shellac and yeah, it totally ruins my nails. I do about 3 then i use Nailtiques to repair them for a couple of months and just do my own. But I hate it. I don't have the time or the patience and yes, I always end up ruining one finger! Or two. Or three. I like the sound of these. How do you get them off? If there are no chemicals and they don't ruin your nails, what keeps them on and what makes them last?

Oh no! That definitely isn't good. You have my sympathathy for sure!! Not to worry you, but I did almost the exact thing, only 2nd metatarsal (next to big toe) and I ended up in a walking cast for 17 weeks. It should have been pinned (found this out after the fact) but it never healed properly even after being in the cast that long. We went to Mexico after the cast was off and I still couldn't do the ruins at Coba. My husband climbed but I didn't. Be very careful what you put on your feet. I know it's your baby toe but you could still affect how it heals. Yes - keep it elevated for sure and the ibuprofen will help the swelling. Good luck!! You're getting so close now. I'm anxious to hear your report when you get back!! Ok. Sorry to sound like a total dork, but what are these? I looked on the site and I love some of the colours and patterns. They're totally cool. I pay to get my nails done but is this something I could do on my own?

I'm not sure what the difference is between going to them, or them coming to you. Bridal package with trial for hair and makeup and eyelashes is $475 US. Just the wedding day is $300 then if you have others it's $160 for each of them. If you take the owner, Adrian it's more.

At the moment we're booked at Azul Fives but hopefully that will go by the wayside soon. I'm not happy with them at all. I googled the trip from Now Jade to Playa and it's about a half hour and $35.00 one way. I don't know what you're resort is charging or if it would be a savings at all from having them go to you. But at least you know it will be someone reputable. Styling Trio has awesome reviews and I'm really looking forward to them doing my hair and makeup. Just looking at their pictures on their website gives me a lot of relief rather than worrying about how well the resort will do. Good luck!

Ok. I'll ask. What's the difference between a regular flat and ballet flat? I just looked on a ballet website, and I can see where the elastic strap would be helpful but other than that? -
I'm booked with Styling Trio. I learned my lesson already with makeup and I absolutely want the airbrushing, and I want it to last. But due to the vendor fee being charged I'm going to their salon in PDC.

I used Tai Flora for our flowers and I thought they were great! Yes - they were just a bit slow to reply to emails, but not enough for me to worry about in the least. There is another florist that the girls in Jamaica use - Jan's. With Gran Bahia, it was a mix of who the girls used and honestly, you have to take a long look at what you're looking for as to who is more expensive. I found them very reasonable in terms of pricing. I sent a picture and design of what I wanted and they did it. My flowers lasted for days after my wedding. In fact I brought them home with me, and they were real flowers. Not silk. I would definitely recommend them. And the girls that used Jan's said the same thing. So it comes down to what you want.

Hi. Thanks for this. How tightly do they close? I'm just thinking about moisture or sand getting in. The ones I've been looking at are actually like a small zipper pouch.

Flying With Rings

We travelled to Jamaica with ours but I put them in my purse, not the carryon. I wanted them close by, and I just put both in the one box. I'm like JenniferH114. I keep an eye on my stuff at all times. If anything that's one of the questions they ask you when travelling - has your luggage been out of your sight at all so absolutely I watch it. We've been to Mexico 4 times and Jamaica and have never had an issue, even with the in-room safe. I have a friend that was in upstate New York and checked out of the hotel leaving her wallet in the safe. She went back about 5 hours later realizing what she had done. The maid was there but my friend just went to the safe, keyed her code, opened it and took out her wallet. It was still there! I know there are lots of horror stories but sometimes I wonder if you hear about them because they don't happen that often. -
It isn't a matter of requesting areas for pictures. But there were certain areas that I really wanted to have photos done, one of which was the pier. Their stupid system let me book the pier in the first place, but then they emailed that the system shouldn't have let me do that and it wasn't available. But now we can't have any photos there at all because the wedding that is also taking the Zky Terrace is having their cocktail stuff on the pier. So we got messed up for both locations. We can only have our renewal at 5 pm because there is a wedding before us, unless we want to go at like 1pm, which is a no go. Then we can't even do pre-ceremony photos on the pier because they're going to be setting up by 3:30 pm for the cocktails that the Zky Terrace wedding is going to have. The terrace is pretty but even the Sky Deck is booked so we can't even go up there. I do NOT want to go down to the beach and have a bunch of people staring so the garden is out but I want water background for sure. Plus we found out that being stuck with a 5 pm time means we get all of about an hour for photos before the sun sets at about 6:20. I want sunset shots, but I don't want to be pressured for everything else before hand. Plus as suspected, because we have a small group, in order to get something private we have to pay for a minimum of 16. That's pretty much double what our number will be. The resort looks beautiful for staying there, but the whole thing has just left me with a bad taste. I'm already looking into other options.

I was married in Jamaica in October 2011, and we loved it! When we finally short listed the resorts, we had Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica, and Lady Hamilton. I had looked at the Rose Hall properties but their price point was higher than we wanted. The one thing we ran into is that things to not move quickly in Jamaica! I'm not saying that's the reason for your lack of responses, but the other thing is that generally the weddings that are before yours are the ones that are dealt with right away. I know that's no consolation but if you like the property keep after them. I absolutely agree about getting a travel agent. It will take a lot of the stress from you once your guests start to book. There are great travel agents associated with this site - Wright Travel. They're destination wedding specialists! Definitely reach out to them and see what assistance they can provide. There is a contact link on this site. Good luck and happy planning!

Yeah - but you have a wedding to worry about! I'd run screaming from the room if I had a wedding to deal with! But I don't! That's the thing! We're just trying to renew our vows and celebrate the fact that I'm still alive to stay married! This place makes everything SO complicated!! Did I see someone make a comment somewhere about only one wedding a day? Cuz I'll tell you right now that is SO not true!! We can't get any locations for pictures because there are weddings everywhere or they're setting up for receptions/cocktails. And we're supposed to pay an extra $800 to bring the photographer onsite but then not have any of the nice locations to take pictures? Uhh nope. So not happening. Especially since the only thing we're there for is the ceremony!!! Then we're leaving to have dinner somewhere else. I'm already getting the comments about the fact that we only have a small group so can't have this or that and can't do this or cant' do that. But they'll take your money, then just tell you everything after the fact. What a mistake this was. I've already asked to find another location. I'll kiss my $200 or whatever it was goodbye if it means I get somewhere that's easier to deal with.

I was curious about the badge holders. I don't need 20, but depending on what they're like, it may still be worth getting them. Thanks.

Cake Flavors - Karisma Resorts
acw271011 replied to girlinthecity97's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
That's the one thing I'm trying to figure out. We're going off resort for our dinner and doing cake through Joyce at Dream Weddings. Same thing with flowers and I'm going to Styling Trio's salon instead of paying the fee for them to come to the resort. But I'm trying to figure out what to do with left over cake and get it back to the resort! I don't want them trying to charge me for a day pass or $800 fee to bring back cake that they didn't make!! lol -
Neako's Planning Thread - Riviera Maya 2016

What a lovely story. With my husband and I it was my dog just after we met. puppy was diagnosed with bowel cancer and he last only about 3 weeks after they confirmed it. I had never had to have an animal put to sleep ever but he went downhill so quickly that they said to let him go because it would be very painful for him if I waited. I had told him I wanted to go to the vet's on my own because I knew I would crack. We had only been together a few months at that point. But Doug was right there as soon as I got to his apartment and the only thing he said to me was that he wished I had let him say goodbye too. Well... didn't I feel like a total $%#&* We've been through a lot in the nearly 14 years we've been together and he has always stuck by me. I'm like you. Even after this many years I sometimes look at him and shake my head. After such a lousy first marriage to find someone so special really is mind boggling sometimes. lol We were married in Jamaica and fell in love with the island. We got married in a beautiful gazebo right on the beach, just the two of us. We loved the resort and would go back in a heartbeat but I agree that the price point is a bit higher than what we're looking for right now. We're booked for Azul Fives to renew our vows on October 20th this year. It will be the first time we get to celebrate our anniversary in a special way and by rights I shouldn't be here to celebrate it at all so the renewal will be a life celebration as much as anything else. This is a wonderful site and you will absolutely get a ton of helpful tips and suggestions from all the brides here, both past and present. They're a super bunch. I see you're in Etobicoke - there are a lot of GTA brides here and a lot of canadians so you'll get plenty of tips on travel agents and resorts. There are full forums for the RIU resorts here as well. Obviously January to April is pretty much peak travel time so your rates will likely be somewhat higher than the summer or fall. Early December is also a somewhat cheaper time for the resorts before the xmas rush gets started. I love the start of your thread. Be sure to keep it updated and let us know when you choose a date and resort!! Good luck and happy planning! -
Groom's Attire
acw271011 replied to MissFrench's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I think we're just going to do a beige suite rental with jacket vest and pants. Same deal - jacket for the renewal only, then I'm pretty sure it will be vest only. I'm trying though to get the coloured vests. One in turquoise and one in pink for the colours. My husband did the linen shirt and linen pants when we got married. It was ok but made the pictures too casual looking back on it. The suit is super lightweight for destinations so should work out ok.- 12 replies
