  4. The dress is adorable! yeah - the arm fat. I don't have to dread it! I already have it!! lol It's what happens when you get old.... lol
  5. I'm just curious about one thing. Firstly I'm not catholic so I can't help you out there, and we were married in Jamaica. I was just wondering why you aren't doing your catholic ceremony in one of the beautiful chapels/churches in Mexico? I know some of their processes can be a somewhat of a nuisance but like I said, just wondering.
  6. Everything looks great. I love the look of the sunglasses. I'm definitely going to get them but I'll wait a bit yet to see how many we need. I was going to go with the pink and the dark blue. Figure it will look cool in pictures.
  7. OMG!! You looked stunning!!! Wow! It looks like everything went great! Can't wait to see lots more!! Congrats on being a Mrs.!!
  8. Guess I've been spoiled by US prices lol I looked at the website and it's expensive!
  9. Have you thought about inquiring with any of the ones in Playa to see if they might recommend someone? The only one I know of is the one I'm using in PDC.
  10. Kim you're so good for my ego!! lol Seriously, I think some of it is age as well. Sometimes it feels like I look at food and gain weight! Have you checked on the ordering? The end of April sounds awfully close for timing. I just did my dress on Friday and the salon really pressured me to get it done because of how close the timing is. I was stunned. She said it might come in earlier than they expect but she said six months, which gives me end of August then I have to schedule the alterations. We fly on October 17th so I definitely want to make sure it's all done before we go.
  11. My problem isn't that I love food. My problem is that food loves me!! lol I lost almost 25 lbs last year. I started losing it slowly in May and had lost 11 lbs by the time i went into the hospital just after labour day. Then I lost 14 more after the surgery and didn't start gaining it back until just over the last month. Now I've gained 9 back in a month. So I need to lose that 9 plus the 10 more that I wanted to get off and now it seems unattainable. I'm frustrated more than anything. I'll take a look at my fitness pal. My problem is tracking what I eat. I already know I eat some things I shouldn't but not that much of it. That's what's so frustrating. One way or another I have to get it off. I'm still having enough trouble breathing without having the extra weight on.
  12. lol from your mouth to God's ears! I've heard of South Beach definitely, but I've heard mixed reviews on it. That's awesome that your mom lost that much weight in a month! That's almost all of what I want to lose! Well, closer to 20 but I would be thrilled with 15 to get off and keep it off!
  13. This is it! Today is the big day! Have a wonderful wedding day! I know it will all be fabulous and you will be a beautiful bride! Can't wait to see pictures!!
  14. Have a wonderful, happy wedding day! So can't wait to hear about all of it and to see Samuel's work! You will be a gorgeous bride!!
  15. Thankfully I have time to get moving on it. I signed up for weight watchers and gained in the first two weeks. Too much food for me and the points tracking was just too complicated.
  16. lol no not crazy at all! I was able to get a pretty good idea today of how it will fit. I just hope I can get the weight off now that I've gained back since I came out of the hospital. It started as just a couple of pounds, but now it's just rolling back on! lol Thank goodness the nice weather is starting to come back. Pretty soon I'll be able to get out on my bike and get walking.
  17. I found the link to the glasses. They're perfect! Thanks. Question. Where did you find the little stamps at Michaels? I've looked there both yesterday and today, and couldn't find anything travel related at all. Also, the lantern at IKEA - is that a seasonal item or is it something they carry all the time? I love the white. Are they expensive? The nice thing is I pretty much need only one. I want to do a cake table I think but I don't think I need any decoration for it.
  18. Cool. Thanks. I'll take a look. I haven't really done anything about dresses mostly because I didn't know until December if we could even do this or not. Then trying to figure out the where, and Jan, Feb, Mar & April are my worst months with financial and regulatory filings, then I have a company annual shareholder meeting in May. I can't have any time off after about the third week in January until after the AGM the third week in May. But I'm tired. Really tired in fact and Doug just got over being sick for 2 weeks so I was doing a ton of stuff on my own. So I took two days off and just did things I wanted to do, one of which was getting a start on dresses. The only thing now is the two places I went are in a panic telling me that I won't get my dress in time because it takes 6 months, etc. So This isn't the same dress I tried on yesterday but it's so close it's hard to tell the difference. The back isn't the keyhole that I wanted but it's the illusion back so it's still sheer but with a bit of sparkle. I'm really happy with it and it's another thing to cross off the list!! You're so lucky things are big on you! lol I used to be that way. My whole life I never weighed more than 110 lbs. That is SO not the case now!! lol But the lady today told me that depending on the designer some of them will do their dresses as much as 2 or 3 sizes smaller. She said they follow the couture sizing whatever that means lol
  19. Good deal Kim. You covered everything I was going to mention. Bathing suit will definitely not dry in the humidity. And guys usually are required to wear long pants and a "collared" shirt to the a la cartes. I did read here somewhere that one resort they were letting guys in wearing shorts but don't count on that. Most we've been to enforce the proper dress rule. Which means you will not be allowed in wearing a bathing suit even with a cover up. Ladies will need a skirt, dress or dress slacks. The buffets are a lot more casual but I believe they still require you to wear a cover up.
  20. Cabo is beautiful! We almost ended up at Sante Fe years ago, but ended up in Cuba instead. We regretted that decision but never mind. We made up for it with 2 other visits to Cabo and love it!!!! We've heard a lot about Riu Santa Fe just from a travel perspective and it's still on my bucket list of resorts to go to. There is so much to do in Cabo! The shopping is great! And Cabo Wabo is a super bar. We did the whale watching tour and loved it. Make sure you take dramamine if you don't have sea legs. The water gets choppy. The arch is spectacular up close. Get pictures for sure. We've never taken the time to go to that beach to swim but we've heard that its worth it. Find a little cantina (there are a bunch) on the marina and get a bucket of beer and watch the people go by. Fun. Good luck ladies, and happy planning!!
  21. Hey - we're so close! Our date is our wedding anniversary - October 20th. We're staying at Azul Fives but our ceremony will be on a rooftop terrace at Grand Coral Beach Club. Some of it is getting real now with all the deposits. I just say my prayers every night not to end up back in the hospital again. At least not until we get back from Mexcio!
  22. I did it! Here it is! This is what I'm going to wear in October. Over what I wanted to spend, but I'm still alive and I intend to make this vow renewal something special. So this is it!
