  1. Kristy it will all be wonderful I promise! Yes - just remember to breathe and take it all in. Take time for you! You've worked so hard for it all, be sure you look around. The emotion is completely normal, especially with all of the planning. Once you arrive tomorrow you'll have a couple of days to settle. Take advantage of it. Enjoy the sunshine and the beach and having friends and family there. And let the WC do what they need to. Have a safe and enjoyable flight tomorrow and looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing pictures!!
  2. You give me my chuckle for the day! You will be more than an inspiration for any brides starting out on their planning journey! Your thread is wonderful to read! They say what goes around comes around so for what you've contributed to this site, there is no way you could receive anything but support and encouragement. It's exactly what you've passed along, so I think there are many brides to be here that would say thank you to you! I have to say as far as nursing goes, with all of my time in the hospital, I've had some fabulous ones. Of course you do get the not so good ones, but I really don't know how they do it emotionally. I came too close for comfort - my husband had everyone visit just because things were so touch and go - but the nurses were great. I don't know how they walk away from that kind of thing every day and as you say, still keep their sanity! Where on earth did you find those little first aid kits? Those are awesome and would work perfectly for what I'm thinking!
  3. I totally love #2 lol Could you ad a touch of colour to #1? Make it pop a little bit? Love the design and the font together. Looks great! lol I did check out the shoes and saw the light blue! They're gorgeous!! Believe me, i thought about it for about a second lol I wouldn't do that to you! But they really are gorgeous!! I'm hoping to find a bright blue if I can and hopefully with some sparkle similar to yours! Let the search begin! lol
  4. You ladies have just reaffirmed for me why I love being here. I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes because 3 of you are getting married very soon and it makes my heart happy! @@pddcmc - that article you posted is so perfect! And most of the time so absolutely right! It's what brought me to tears. My first marriage was nothing like that article. Sometimes marriage isn't what she said. And sometimes if it isn't, you get a second chance at it. I got lucky and got the second chance. Then I got lucky again and made it through one of the "tough times" that she talks about. That's worth celebrating. And maybe even dancing in the rain for!
  5. He did a good job!!! So you're down to the wire now girl. It's all absolute fun from here on in!!!!Relax! Enjoy! Take it all in! So absolutely can't wait for your review!! Never been to the DR and likely never will so really looking forward to pictures!! Safe drive tomorrow!
  6. I got my wedding dress from Davids in 2011, and the girl that was supposed to be my MOH got her dress at the same time. They told me 3 to 4 months for both. We ordered March 19th (I still have the bill!) and if I remember correctly both dresses were in by the end of May. I had no problems with them at all. Good luck!
  7. Congrats! Hope you had a fabulous time and that you'll do a review of your stay and post pics! The ladies here love to see the photos!!
  8. Oh that's exciting! Now you'll see all your planning come together and pay off. It's going to be wonderful, I'm sure of it. How's hubby? Has he been back to the doctor?
  9. Thanks for the tip on the weights. I saw veil weights in Hobby Lobby last weekend in the US. I got the veil I think I'm going to wear. It's short, just past shoulders but I haven't totally decided if I'm wearing it so didn't get the weights. I have a ton of time to decide and final dress decision isn't made yet, but the veil was really cheap from preownedweddingdresses.com It's exactly what I was looking for. Yours is gorgeous! I've had music on tonight and I have the song I want to walk to to meet Doug. The problem is it makes me cry every time I listen to it! lol He thought something was wrong tonight because I was sitting here bawling my eyes out for some stupid reason! lol It has been a long 3 months and I'm exhausted from all the overtime. I get weepy when I'm over tired lol I'd be concerned about your timeline. The one thing we've always found is that sunsets down south are fast. You can literally sit there and watch the sun go down in about 15 minutes. We've done it from a cruise ship and it's amazing, but it can royally screw up pictures. That's what happened to us in Jamaica. We have exactly 3 sunset shots. We weren't ready and the sun set so quickly there wasn't a lot of time. If your sunset is at roughly 7:15, a 5pm ceremony makes more sense. You need at least 20 minutes for that, then the hugs and kisses after. You won't get away from those but you can put a time limit on it. Even at 15 minutes for hugs and kisses you're after 5:30 at least. That gives you just over an hour for pictures. That's cutting it awfully close especially if you're going to try and get family shots as well as ones of the two you alone. I would email the photographer and let them know what you're thinking and see what they say. Who are you using? Those shoes are wow!! I love them! And the heels aren't too high. I want blue shoes. I've decided that much at least lol That style is pretty and in the pink with the sparkles! Definitely! I found vows books and they aren't that expensive. Just search them on the Etsy site and there are a few really pretty ones that you can get in a groom's colour and a bride's colour. Something to think about I think. I know there are a couple of things that I want to say to Doug, but I don't know if he'll write anything. He's not really a "flowery" guy like that. I'll have to wait and ask him. I just know I want the marriage poem in our ceremony. We had it when we got married and I want it again since it's in essence a renewal of that poem.
  10. Thanks @dreamweddings That's wonderful advice Joyce! What a wonderful way to celebrate! By dancing in the rain!
  11. It's easy to go online and find a branch open. Usually just your postal code and it will direct you! What day is fly day?
  12. There absolutely should be a bank open tomorrow!! TD even has branches open on sundays now. There are quite a few open here on saturdays. You should be fine. Just keep in mind though that if you're getting a large amount, some banks will ask you to contact them ahead of time. Not all, but some.
  13. You're really getting close now!! There are so many brides here with dates that aren't far away! Hopefully we have a ton of pictures to see!
  14. Wow! It's a beautiful resort! The rooms are just a tiny bit ultra modern for my taste but the colours are gorgeous! Couldn't find anything about AI though, but even so, using points for a flight is doable.
  15. Well I remember when Royalton opened in RM and they were advertising it about 6 months ahead. Sunwing has the exclusive to it like Transat does to Azul Fives but it's just so odd that nobody has it. I tried itravel2000 since they carry everybody's packages, plus sell off vacations and nothing listed anywhere. I would be very surprised if it's not an all inclusive.
  16. I've been trying to find out from canada who might be putting packages together but not getting anywhere. Did you say June 1st it's set to open? Odd that I can't find anyone going yet. We have several very large tour companies so somebody must be adding it to their "repertoire"....
  17. Going to check it out this weekend and see who has it and what kind of pricing they're offering...
  18. I feel like I'm coming so late to this thread - I'm really sorry. Jan, Feb & Mar are my worst months of the entire year, then Apr & May just suck in a more normal way, and I work a ton of hours during those first 3 months then down to only about 50 hours a week during the other two. I've only popped on in fits and starts late at night. Firstly, your thread is awesome! Your wedding date is my husband's birthday! Don't tell him I said anything but he's 58 on June 20th this year!! I love your ideas and all of the crafty things you've put together. I have two left thumbs so crafts and I just do NOT get along!! Coral and turquoise were my original colours but I've since switched to hot pink with the turquoise (or Begonia as it seems to be here lol good old Davids bridal. I have that swatch too!!) I love the coral. It's just so beachy for the Caribbean! Your weight loss is inspiring! Truly! I'm old so weight loss has become a situation that I hate. I lost 25 lbs last summer/fall (a lot due to being in the hospital) and have now gained 10 of it back. yuck. I wish I could go to a gym a couple of times a week, never mind couple of times a day. it just isn't an option for me. I've had pulmonary embolisms twice and my breathing just sucks. I get out of breath just coming up from the subway and trying to be on the treadmill just a little bit at home so a gym routine, along with arthritis, is not somewhere I want to think about going!! I know you can stick with it - your determination is incredible!! I'm so sorry about all of the mixup with your dress and very thankful they straightened it out as quickly and easily as they did. Who knew that there was a difference like that between a 14 and 14W. I'm going to play it very safe with my dress and just go at least a size bigger. If I was young like you ladies I would probably do the thing of going smaller but at my age, I don't need the extra pressure!! I'm curious about the resort you picked. It was one I had looked at but the reviews on air conditioning and the food quality worried me. You said you've been there before and loved it - you didn't have any food issues at all? Or with air conditioning in any of the restaurants? Did you stay in the Riviera section? I also heard that it's a huge resort and that there is a lot of walking? Did you find that? I'm happy that you're feeling better and that your burn is healing. You'll definitely have to be very careful in the sun when you go to Mexico!!
  19. Wow - I'm so sorry to hear that your experience hasn't been everything you wanted it to be! I don't know anything at all about Hard Rock resorts so thanks so much for the review!! I truly hope things improve before your wedding in July! What about working with your TA to try to resolve some of your concerns? Is that a possibility, or for that matter what about the WC? All the best!!
  20. Thanks on the dress! I do think it's pretty and is a good compromise on the one that I originally wanted. Now to see what the pricing is! You're absolutely right about the printer. I did test printing and while I thought I had a good one, which I do, for printing the tags the colours just don't come out very well. So I'll take a look around to see where I can print them from. If you have a suggestion I'm open to it!! lol I do like the picture but I also like the simple one. Now that I'm attaching it on the outside rather than putting it in the pouch, I can do the colours that I want to use.
  21. First of all, the resorts are pros at this so if it happens that things have to get moved inside, they'll do their absolute best to make sure it looks wonderful. If you're nervous, why don't you fire off a quick email to your WC and just ask her now what happens if it rains? Where do they move you to? What is the drop dead timeline for you to make the decision of in or out? That at least gives you a starting point. At least get information to work with that might help you settle a bit. We had rain on our wedding day in Jamaica but it didn't last. It was about 15 mins. just after the ceremony and 10 minutes after it stopped you wouldn't even know it had rained. The other thing is that a lot of times satellite reads humidity as rainfall when it actually isn't.I checked a site that I use and all I saw was sunshine and quite warm so it's entirely possible that's what you're seeing. Sorry I can't offer any more than that. You're not in hurricane season so I think the likelihood of an all day rain is pretty slim and you'll have a beautiful wedding day!! But to put your mind at ease, just check with your WC and see what she says. Ask her what the weather is right now. lol I'm sure she'll be happy to tell you. All the best!
  22. With everything @@TinkerSofi has been through with planning her wedding, @@acastello2 this is absolutely one of the best responses you'll get next to a travel agent!
  23. You're absolutely right about the pink. I didn't realize I hadn't changed the colour back. I lightened it to try and see if I could insert them into the blue pouches and have it show through and it didn't work. But I forgot to change the colour back to the fuschia colour, which is what my flowers are going to be. I changed it up and the font as well on the date and I think it looks a bit better. keycard insert for zipper pouch.ppt
  24. Here's the sunglasses link. Unfortunately most of the canadian brides have just ended up paying the shipping from the US, which can be a royal pain, and can get pretty expensive too! Weigh it out and see for the number you're ordering how the shipping balances out. Depending on where you are in canada you can get a drop place in the US if you're close to the border and go and pick up there. You can also check out Dollarama. they have some there that might work again depending on what you're looking for. http://www.logolenses.com/
