  1. Yep and I'll make it three. You still have lots of time as was said, as long as you have the major things done. You always find time for the smaller things and it all comes together. Of course! Easy peazy. Nothin' to it... lol
  2. Oh my goodness - you two are such a cute couple!!! I like the website. It looks great! Congrats on being a legal Mrs. and now the fun part! I hope it all goes exactly as you want it to be! Looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing how it all turned out! I'm sure you'll be a beautiful bride!! Congrats and happy to hear it went as you hoped! Definitely post pics and a review! We always love seeing photos and reviews always help future brides!!
  3. @@calgarybride2015 I knew you had the right words!!! I'm only packing 6 at this point so I'm absolutely no help from a packing perspective! lol
  4. Hi. Just wondered where you got the led lights for the lanterns? I'm finding the lanterns easily but not the led lights to go in them! Thanks!
  5. Hi. I was wondering if you would be willing to split them up? Or is it too difficult to do? Any ideas on what shipping might cost? Thanks.
  6. Wow - so many 2016 brides! Looks like there will be a lot of photos next year to look at! Hope all you ladies get the wedding of your dreams, wherever you're getting married!
  7. Your photos are gorgeous! Congrats and thanks for posting! I'm so sorry things didn't' go as planned. Every bride should have good memories of their wedding day. Hopefully some of what you've passed along will help other brides, or at least let them know what to look out for! I hope you'll post some photos when you get them! Congrats on being a Mrs!
  8. I would probably bow out of a weekend unfortunately. I work downtown TO but live on the border of Mississauga and Milton. It's a trek to get downtown on weekends and parking totally sucks. If ever anyone goes for a weeknight, I'd absolutely love to join in! Absolutely give an update on how it goes!!
  9. @calgrybride2015 did an awesome job transporting hers and she had about 40 of them. I know she found a way for it to work. I really think a cup with a lid works great. Obviously you won't want bubbas for 40 people since the cost can really add up but a lot of the ladies here are doing the Dollar Tree ones and from what I'm hearing guests seem to love them!
  10. Congrats on being a Mrs!! You looked gorgeous and everything looks beautiful!! Very happy it all turned out as you wanted!!
  11. Both are gorgeous but I'm glad you chose #1. I love the tiered bottom! It's a style I really like.
  12. Those are totally cute! Love the colours! @ beat me to it! lol I was going to suggest weddingchicks.com too. There's also another site that I've looked at www.bagiva.com I don't know how many guests you have but their prices are pretty reasonable but I'm not sure about the design part of it.
  13. Congrats and welcome to the site! Jamaica is a great place to have a wedding! The Jamaican people are wonderful! I was married there nearly 4 years ago at the Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica in Runaway Bay and we loved it. We ended up just being the two of us on our own but the resort does accommodate children. We went in October so it was much quieter. At the time our TA gave us a group rate of $1250 from Toronto but that was 4 years ago. I know the resort has changed a bit since we were there. We did look at Lady Hamilton but back then the price point was higher. I'm not sure what it is now. There is a TA that the canadian ladies here really seem to like. She's in Alberta, but seems to be very responsive by both email and by phone. You could try her if you like - Laurie Lee Rosser. Her email is [email protected] and her phone is 403.509.9337 or 1.866.509.9337 She's on the web at www.laurielee.ca I would be quite upset with a TA that told me to go look at brochures even if you wedding is 2 years away. Yes definitely there isn't much you'll be able to do now - generally pricing comes in I think about a year in advance but still, telling you to look at brochures is sort of off putting for sure. Good luck! Finding your resort is probably the biggest hurdle. Once that's done, other things start to fall into place.
  14. Congrats on your engagement and welcome! Unfortunately I don't have any info on the resort you're considering. Do you have a travel agent yet? They would be invaluable in helping determine your wedding budget and be able to give you recommendations on resorts where you want to be. I do remember when we were originally looking for a country to get married in, our top 2 were the Bahamas and Jamaica, and I had been at a wedding show here in Toronto. I got talking with a travel agent there and she didn't have a lot of positive things to say about Breezes. Just that it was showing its age and really needed a facelift. I really don't kmow if anything has been done since the end of 2010 so I'm afraid I can't add much more than that. Have you looked at the resort review section here to see what past brides have said about their experiences? It might be worth a look. I hope you find what works best for you. There is also the travel agent associated with this site, Wright Travel. They are destination wedding specialists and I sure would be able. To help you out with information. Good luck and happy planning!
  15. oh wow - the Everly Brothers! lol I used to totally love that song!! This is a nice modern "re-do" of it!
  16. You're the same date as us! We're renewing our vows at Grand Coral Beach Club. Still deciding on a resort - either Azul Fives or Platinum Yucatan Princess. We're a really tiny group so we won't be booking for another couple of weeks.
  17. @@TinkerSofi wow! You've done an incredible job! I've had so much overtime I just had to read through like 8 pages of your thread! You're getting so close now. Not long to go. The hangers are adorable!! I love the guys ones. Too cute! The bridesmaid dresses are beautiful. I really like the style. I think it will be perfect for Mexico. The colour is pretty too! I'm going to be the odd voice (what else is new) and say I like without suspenders. But that's just me lol I'm glad your dress fitting went ok. I would have loved the corset back but again, that's me. I love the style and it's so forgiving! I wish I had half the talent you have! Everything is coming together so nicely!
  18. That is so pretty and it looks gorgeous on you! I don't know you, but the dress is definitely "you" (sorry if that sounds dumb) and I really like the shoes!! When I got married 4 years ago I got my dress from David's and it was perfect at the time for what we had going. I went to the store in Niagara Falls NY and they were great. Busy like crazy because they had a big sale on but it overall was a good experience. I love the Oasis as well but I was bent on turquoise so I'm going with Malibu. I looked at Horizon and Pool but the Malibu just worked with what I had in mind. The other is Begonia. I love it and I love the 2 together. Your flower ideas are so pretty! Geez - the more I read through these threads the more I realize how much I missed out on the creative genes. I must have been in the bathroom when God handed them out.....
  19. If you don't mind old, I'd love to join. I'm in Mississauga, but work at University & Queen. And I think any brand new brides should absolutely join you ladies. That way you can get all the details! And no - I do not mind if you'd rather keep it to the young ladies!! lol
  20. Oh my goodness the jewellery is gorgeous!!! I LOVE the necklace!! I completely agree on the Etsy!!
  21. Because our groups is so tiny - were only 6 or 8 - I just didn't find that resorts like small groups. They just seem to work better with20 plus people. So icontacted a planner that posts on this site and she has been amazing at helping me with finding a location that wasn't going to cost us a forth e since there are so few of us. We're already married and ending our vows so I want special but not over the top. We're going to be on a rooftop terrace at Grand Coral Beach Club which will be the perfect size. But they also have a beautiful deck locations that can do all of your evening dinner and dancing. It's a beautiful location. We're hen having dinner at a restaurant right in playa del Carmen that also has an open rooftop terrace. They can accommodate I believe up to about 100 people and the pricing is very reasonable. They can do a cocktail reception with hours d'oeuvres as well. Joyce has done the flowers for me, the minister, our gazebo. We have Samuel Luna as our photographer and I'm looking at Mike Cantarell for a very short little video. I so very much wanted a pier as they have at AF and when I booked it I was thrilled that it said I had it. But whatever. It is what it is and I love where we are now and what Joyce has put together for us. There was a bride here that got married not long ago I think at Blue Venado and she loved it. Look up the location here and I think it was MrsCTobe. She also used Joyce and she was as happy as I am with what Joyce provided. Worth a look for sure and also talking to Wright Travel. I hope that info helps you out. Let us know what you decide. I know there are ladies here having a very good experience with Azul Fives and I'm glad it's working out for them so well. Wedding planning is stressful enough. My experience was a disappointment. I agree with you about azul Sensatori too. I looked at it and it's just too far out for me. Being close to Playa del Carmen was a must for me especially since all of our things are in or super close to PDC. I have Styling Trio booked as well and Joyce got me hooked up with someone for a small cake too so we're pretty much set. We just don't know for sure yet where we're staying!! But we aren't doing a group booking or anything so our TA is watching a few different things for us. Good luck!
  22. Congrats on being a Mrs and I'm glad you were happy with the company you chose. Thanks for the review!
  23. Welcome to the site! I think you're looking at two very popular Jamaican resorts! I was married in Jamaica almost 4 years ago but at a different resort. We loved Jamaica and fell in love with this island. Have you looked up the resorts at all here for the reviews? It will give you an idea of what past brides have done and what they have to say about their experience. Do you have a travel agent yet? If not I would highly recommend getting one. They will become your newe best friend as you go through your planning journey and will help field guest questions as well as provide you with I formation to give you the best experience possible. Good luck and happy planning!
