@@TLynn3123 Congrats and welcome! A cruise is a beautiful way to celebrate your wedding! I was actually going to suggest you look at @@cruisebride2016 thread but she beat me to it!! lol Ocho Rios Jamaica is gorgeous! It's a beautiful place to get married but I'm a Jamaica bride so I think I'm biased. I think a tour or something after your wedding is a great idea! Why not try and take in some of the beauty of the island after your ceremony and then just go back to the ship closer to departure time and have your reception in the evening? Sounds like a perfect idea to me. As @cruisbride2016 suggested, maybe there is something on the island you could do right after that could involve a cocktail and appies or something like that, that will help get your guests in a celebratory mood. Perhaps a "jolly roger" type tour that would serve drinks on board and let your party start. I'm sure there are a ton of ideas that would work for you. Of course it will also depend on the time you have your ceremony schedule for. If you're departing at 4, unless you're doing an early ceremony it doesn't leave a ton of time and then return to the ship before it leaves. Definitely some things to think about and investigate! Good luck and happy planning!

Input On My Timeline Please
acw271011 replied to RoxRoy2015's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Your timeline looks pretty good to me. STDs usually do go out about a year in advance so that's ok. What about your booking deadlines? Are you going to put that anywhere, or is that the RSVP? Maybe on your wedding website? The one thing I will caution you about.... is the RSVP. Don't pin too much on that date. It's almost a guarantee that you will be chasing people down. If you look through the various threads here, all the ladies have had the same issue. Not sure why, but there are people that just don't respond to an RSVP. I don't know why. You could use it as a guide. Is your RSVP going to be attached to your August invite? Is there a worry that people might lose the RSVP if the invite is going in August and the RSVP isn't due until January? Just a thought.... Good luck! -
@@nkavanaugh I'm going to agree with everyone else. Wow - we were 4 and had 2 photographers and it was totally worth it! You won't regret having 2 and if you can get that kind of pricing, I would absolutely go for it! In a heartbeat! Your photos will be spectacular!! Plus with the group that you have you don't want to miss any shots. I know it's a lot with the exchange rate right now. Good thing is.... the $ is going up! I knew your date was close but it wasn't until you said May 3rd leaving next week that it's like "geez... we're nearly the end of April and into May already!!" Your wedding is so close!! That's one big group you've got! It's going to be incredible!!

Can't wait to see pictures!!! Definitely looks like you're having a great time.... (thank you for not sending a post card that says "wish you were here!")

@@WhiteWedding2017 Congrats and welcome!! My husband and I renewed our vows in Mexico last October and most of the week was actually really good. I know what you mean though about being nervous about hurricane season. It can be very unpredictable. Mid-November is still really nice as well as early December. There have been a couple of recent November/December brides. If you look at Perianjay's planning thread she was married last Dec 15th at Beach Palace and had great weather. As to resorts, have you looked at Platinum Yucatan Princess? It's the adults only resort for the Grand Sunset and Riviera Princess resorts. There is also the Paradisus La Perla that is adults only as Joyce mentioned. I looked at that and its gorgeous. Not sure what your budget is though. There are a number of nice adults only resorts and there is always an alternative to a beach location, whether it's a garden or a terrace. I'm biased for where we stayed at Valentin Imperial Maya resort. It's fabulous, great food, beautiful pools, great beach, lots of dining options. The rooms are beautiful. We absolutely loved it and there was a bride from March last year that was married there. I can try to find her thread if you like. Try doing a search up top for adults only and see what pops up. Good luck and happy planning!

@@JRodz Have you checked www.preownedweddingdresses.com They have a ton of things for sale, both used and new. As well take a look at www.thelastminutebride.com It's another site that has new sample items at greatly reduced prices. Good luck!

I think I would definitely consider moving your ceremony up by 30 minutes. If you don't want to be rushed, the extra bit of time allows people to congratulate you and be relaxed for your photos. Giving the photographer a few extra minutes is always a good thing!! Sorry I can't help out with your other questions. There is likely a former DRC bride that will step in with info. The alternative is doing a search to see what threads come up. I know there have been a couple. Good luck!!

Azul Fives By Karisma Brides 2016
acw271011 replied to hirvine83's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
@sassylouxx @jwences Hi ladies. Congrats on your upcoming destination wedding! Azul Fives has been a really popular resort lately. There have been several brides that have had their weddings there. I've given you two here that are very recent so I know they'll be helpful for you in terms of costs and sites, etc. Definitely do a search up top under Azul Fives and you'll get several threads that will be helpful to read through. You've picked a very nice resort. The reviews from past brides are great! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/78768-tinkersofis-planning-thread-azul-fives-august-13-2015/ http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/78916-snswedding2016-planning-thread-jan-9-2016-azul-fives/ Good luck and happy planning!- 110 replies

Oot Bag Logos
acw271011 replied to MeredithLynne's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
@JRodz I found this in one of the threads that came up when I did a search. It might be of some help. Definitely do a search. I had a ton of stuff come up that I think would be helpful. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/50728-diy-tips-from-a-designer-iron-on-transfers/ -
@JRodz Generally the tote is big enough that guests can use it at the resort, whether for bits and pieces to take to the beach or just carry around. A lot will depend on your budget. From what I've seen, most brides will do one per couple and put things in that can be split between. If you have a small group you could definitely do one per person. That's what I did but we had a super, super small group. There are several sites that the brides have used to order the bags. Being in the US you have much more selection than the canadian brides here since shipping from the US is really expensive and there aren't many good sites for ordering in canada. If you just search up top in the search bar for OOT bags you'll get multiple threads that come up and you could investigate the sites to see pricing, sizing and shipping costs. Good luck!

OK ladies. I'm not sure I'm looking at the right place but if I am how in the heck do I get to where this place is?? Is it right that it's at Cherry street somewhere? Is there a bus or something when you come off the subway? Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk

@cruisebride2016 Oh that's closer than I thought! Wow! And then your wedding next week! We debated about a cruise wedding when we said ok, dw. But so many of our group aren't cruisers so we dumped the idea. In the end we lost everyone anyway so it wouldn't have mattered! lol You have to remember to post pictures when you get back so we can all see how it went!! Have a great flight tomorrow! Which ship are you on on Sunday and how long is the actual cruise? Your profile says Mediterranean cruise (?)

I would be up for the 5th of August! Weird part is - everyone would be married by then! No more brides - all newlyweds! That's really odd to think about. We're back from New Brunswick by then too so that Friday would be fine for me, or the Saturday. @@Meandhim - I sure wish I was leaving for Jamaica this weekend.... quite honestly I wish I was going ANYWHERE this weekend!!! Well anywhere warm that is..... @@deecol - I have the punch for you from Krystal and will bring it Friday. Not sure how long I'm staying but I'll definitely be there for an hour, then see how it goes.

@@snswedding2016 Ha ha I had to stop watching it cuz the tears were starting Steph! lol I'll have to wait until tonight or I'll be bawling here at my desk!! Isn't Mike incredible???? He did an awesome job just the bit I watched. If he can get the tears going that quickly.... then it's perfect! I'll watch the rest either at lunch so that I can get the eyes cleared or watch the rest tonight.

@cruisebride2016 Oh I love your dress! It's gorgeous and really looks beautiful on you. I really like the straps. That's what I wanted with my dress last October and I settled for something less than I wanted. She used lace instead of the satin the way I asked. They ended up stretching out and by the end of our renewal ceremony they were gapping in several places. I wasn't happy with them at all. Yours are perfect!! I love the little bit of bling across the top. That's so nice of your coworkers to do that for you! And your e-ring is stunning!!!!! So what day do you actually sail? It's getting so close. My goodness - 4 April brides! Hopefully we'll have a ton of photos posted over the next few weeks!!

@@ashhtayy I can send you my tag if you want. I didn't just do the "Shake for a Kiss". I did the little nicer one that says "Instead of tapping on your glass". It's already set up in the Avery format. I can bring one on Friday if you want to have a look.

Sadly people are going to believe what they want to believe no matter how much information you give them. There is more power in the media than people realize. Just today I read that the US CDC is transferring the Ebola money over to investigating/researching Zika. I also know Brazil started a major insecticide spray campaign to kill the mosquitos. But the news media blowing it way out of proportion is what everyone will focus on.
