  1. lol poor @@rachelia160 - we're hijacking her wedding review! I totally agree - I love the mixing of the colours too! It's just to decide how to mix! We're such a small, small group that I don't want to overdo the colours. Our arch is going to be draped in turquoise with 2 bouquets of pink flowers, one half way up on each side. So I thought pink chair ties, but then we're transferring the chair ties to the restaurant in PDC. I wanted to do a table runner because our rectangle table is white linen but if I stick a pink one on the table Doug will have a comment to make about it. lol Typical guy... Can I combine the pink and turquoise on the table? Then there's the cake table. Cake is being done in turquoise - do I keep just a white linen cover or do I do a pink table topper? Is it too much colour??
  2. I absolutely love the pink. My dilemma is that I also have the turquoise and when I look at the bows to buy the turquoise is also so pretty! Haven't bought them yet but need to decide sort of soon.... Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
  3. So now I can see the photos and I love them! Everyone looks so happy! And I need to say thank you I think lol I'm struggling with which colour to use for chair bows - turquoise or fuchsia and seeing your pictures has made a very strong case for doing the pink. I absolutely love how they look. We're such a small group that I wasn't sure if it would be overwhelming or if I should use turquoise. Still not totally sure but I really do like the pink! Congrats again!
  4. Ok. lol now you're really starting to freak me out! lmao This is just too weird. Your rings... your band is the same as what mine is and your hubby to be - it's almost the same as what Doug will have. So close the difference is negligible. He has lost a lot of weight almost 25 lbs. Doctors orders. He has high blood pressure, high cholesterol and is pre-diabetic so no choice. His wedding band is tungsten and we can't find anyone to size it. We keep being told because the metal is so hard it can't be sized. But he almost lost it down the drain because it's so loose. His ring finger is down a whole size so he wears it on his right hand. I hate that. Drives me nuts. It's his wedding band after all. I want him to wear it on the ring finger. So I told him that since we're renewing our vows that it gives me the chance to give him a ring but that it's going to be one that can be sized if necessary. He kicked at first but now that we've been 5 places and they have all said we can't re-size his ring, he has given in although a bit unwillingly! lol It's totally bizarre that the rings are almost the same!
  5. It's funny because tonight I've had nothing but problems getting here. First time. I just was able to log in now. I'll pass the word along.
  6. @MrsCtoB I LOVE Adrianna Papell shoes!! Haven't looked at dresses but stuck on a pair of sky blue shoes that I think I might give in to..... lol Tried navy ones on over the weekend to see fit so thinking I might go ahead and order the pretty blue.... Just trying to justify the cost...
  7. Yep - the veil makes it for sure!! I like what seems to be the second one if that makes sense? They look like different styles... The whole of it together is stunning!!
  8. Yay - I've been waiting for your review! Great so far! You sound so happy to be married - it's so sweet!!! So did you stay at PYP or at Grand Sunset? We still aren't booked yet but that's a story for another day.... lol Super anxious to see pictures too!! If you could mention outside vendor fees and the beach I would love to hear! Can't wait to read the rest......!
  9. @@rachelia160 Wow - what a wonderful review! Thanks so much for taking the time - it absolutely will help out future brides to be! I can't see your pictures on this computer (firewall crap) but I'm going to take another look tonight because I really want to see them. It all sounds like everything went super well - you sound so happy just doing your review!! Congrats!
  10. @Jenjennyjen Welcome to BDW! As you can see from previous comments, you've come to the right place for information! The best advice I would give, other than the comments you'll get from the ladies here, is to talk to a travel agent! Both Moon Palace and Beach Palace are popular wedding resorts, but they each have their own features that may or may not appeal to your particular group. You also need to consider your budget and your must haves and have nots, as you mentioned - a nice beach. A travel agent will be able to review what you want and don't want with you as well as your group price point and may even suggest another resort that better suits your needs! You could always contact the administrators of this site, Wright Travel. They're destination wedding specialists and could definitely provide you with information to help you make the best choice for you and your group. Good luck and happy planning!
  11. The sneak peek pics are great and the serpent dance looks really fun! I like the suggestion of having a conversation with your sister about the bracelet and letting her know how you feel. I definitely wouldn't photoshop it in. But I think you'll find after a conversation that everything is fine. Sisters are just able to do that for you. They can really make you feel better about things. Your wedding looks like it absolutely was epic and I can't wait to see more of your photos! I understand what you're saying about the photos that you didn't get to take, but look at the memories that you do have! Sometimes time just works against you as well, and the fact that you didn't think about it or have it as as list item for the photographer I think means that it wasn't a major concern. I think the photos that you will have will be absolutely beautiful and you won't have anything to regret once you see them! Take it from someone that came too close to only having one year of marriage - please don't regret anything. I know when you've spent so much time planning and trying to have everything perfect it can make you second guess. But in the grand scheme of things, they're things that really don't make a huge difference. As you said, it was an epic wedding and the best time of your life. I think that says it all. Congrats on being a Mrs!!
  12. Sincerity has some absolutely gorgeous dresses! I found the brand by accident last fall and considered a couple of them. They're also quite reasonably priced. But I'm still happy with the deal that I got! Your's is absolutely beautiful!!
  13. I'm going to totally agree with @@calgarybride2015 and I think she said it very well. Have a conversation with your friend since I agree it does seem to be bothering you. Until you ask, you won't have any answers and you will only keep guessing at what the scenario was. It's tough and you may not get answers that you want to hear, but at least you'll know one way or the other. Good luck!
  14. I'll go along with the others - your dress is just stunning! And the little ones look beautiful!!
  15. I'm signed up for Styling Trio as well and believe me, if you can get both services for 200 and you like them? Go for it! Mine is costing a lot more than that! Even when we got married in Jamaica almost 4 years ago, using the spa at the resort, which didn't turn out too well, was almost $300. Like @@calgarybride2015 said, if you're happy with their services, book them!
  16. Love it Kristy!! You made me cry!! You both look so happy! And one of the lines he used is what Doug and I had in our ceremony 4 years ago too!
  17. Absolutely beautiful! And your smile says it's what you want! Congrats!! Can't beat that kind of deal for sure!!
  18. Congrats on your engagement! We all love to read the planning threads so thanks for starting yours!! You've picked a beautiful resort! Looking forward to reading more!!
  19. I'll second what @@calgarybride2015 said. There don't seem to be any hard and fast rules for destination weddings other than trying to give everyone the info as far in advance as possible. Some brides will do STDs, others will do electronic invites, still others will do save the dates and invites as well. Your budget will probably dictate a lot of what you do or don't do as well as the size of your group. Obviously if you have a very small group communication is much easier than a large group of 100. Good luck and happy planning!
  20. I agree with the ladies. Just do what you can. I think any bridesmaid would be thrilled that you thought enough of them to go that little bit extra for them but I wouldn't break your budget.
  21. Hi @@shelbylayne4 and welcome to BDW! Oh my goodness - you have to talk tho the administrators of this site Wright Travel! They are destination wedding experts and the host is a Dreams Cabo bride herself!! Cabo has some beautiful hotels so I know they would be able to help you out with what you want and what you don't want, along with your budget and price point for your guests. You can contact them though this site - just look for the link. We've looked at the Riu Santa Fe, plus as I said Tammy is a Dreams Cabo bride. There are a lot of west coast brides here that get married in the Cabo area. You could also look at the resort review tab on this site and see what past brides have had to say about their experience. Good luck and happy planning!
  22. wow! so pretty! you look gorgeous! Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
  23. Why enough about you? Not at all!! So happy you found something that works for you and that you're happy with. Another thing done, right?? That's what's important!! I got mine from an online salon so I knew the dress was in the inventory. She told me back around the end of march when I did my wish list that they had it. but for whatever reason it was slow coming in to the salon. I was getting worried because I just wanted it off my list of things to get done so was ready to go with one of two others that I really really liked. But it did come in, I pulled the trigger and it will arrive at my son's in Pennsylvania next Thursday. Now I have to figure out how to get it with enough cross border allowance to bring it home! We did the customs costing and taxes, etc and it was crazy! I have someone lined up for the alterations already but I don't need that done until September. Make sure you post pics of your dress!! We all want to see!! Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
