  1. Glad the pressure is off for the dance and absolutely that's why it's going more smoothly! Guys just don't do well with pressure like that lol Women excel at it but guys just don't! I would start a dispute resolution with PayPal and start a trace with Canada post. Your case will be that it was registered and your tracking number. Open a file with them and put the pressure on them. Push that it's stuff for your wedding and you ordered it in plenty of time, yada yada. You already said you know the drill lol But kick up a huge stink about it. It's the only thing that gets their attention. I did a dispute resolution with PayPal and they were great. Got my money back within 2 weeks. Good luck! Hope you're doing a couple of pics of the "legal"! Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
  2. @Andrea2015 Happy wedding day tomorrow! In spite of the dress drama, I hope it's everything you hoped for and more! I'll second what calgarybride2015 said - I hope you come back and provide a review and pictures!
  3. Good news on the necklace! I'm sure you'll get money back on the bridesmaid gifts but it may not be before you leave. Hopefully it was insured as well, otherwise you may have a tough time with canada post. They're complete SOBs (sorry about the language) when it comes to claiming back, especially if there is no insurance. They'll find a way to say they aren't responsible, and heaven forbid they admit that mail was stolen or just didn't show up. Not to try to stress you out or anything, but I worked in the legal department for a number of years and I've seen the hoops they put up to make you jump through to make a claim. Happy you're still working on the dance! That's good news!
  4. That's the one in Edmonton, right? I remember you talking about the one going out of business. Can't beat deals like that!!!
  5. Wow - I think $100 is a pretty good price! lol Do they have others at that price?? Was that just because of your dress - I know sometimes they'll bundle if you're buying your dress from them.
  6. @stephygirl Congrats on being a Mrs! I hope you post a wedding review and photos! I hope your wedding was everything you hoped for and more!
  7. @snswedding2016 Well done! That's a fantastic answer! @KirstenChrisDW2016 Our bride to be is absolutely correct with the info she gave you! The first recommendation is always if you don't have a TA, definitely look into working with one! They will become your new BFF as you go through your planning journey! The TA will help you make your final resort decision based on what you want and don't want, your budget and the number of guests travelling with you. They will help with your guests questions rather than them asking you and will also provide information on flights if you're in the US, or package questions if you're in Canada. Congrats on your engagement! Planning a destination wedding really doesn't have to be stressful, however keep in mind that you are working with a foreign country and things move a little bit slower there than here! As well, you will have your initial contact with your resort (whichever one ends up being your final choice) and then your contact will likely be intermittent or limited until just a couple of months before your wedding. Don't panic! The wedding coordinators (WCs) at the resorts know what they're doing, and are well versed in putting together a fabulous wedding! Try and put your questions into emails in such a way that it makes them easy to answer and absolutely keep all of your communications! Good luck and happy planning!
  8. Sorry - I'm running a bit behind on the threads. Your photos are gorgeous and you were a beautiful bride! Your colours really pop with the background and it looks like everything turned out great!
  9. Oh I LOVE the second one!! Looks very tropical!! I'm not partial to red but that's just my own personal preference. What's important is what YOU like!! (But I still like the second one lol)
  10. Totally agree with Kim! Just think about everything that you've already done! Your planning has gone so well that I think you're more than ready. Your hair... my big concern would definitely be the heat. If it's that long and that thick, I would really worry that you're going to be very, very hot. Especially since it's August. As Kim said, maybe try a couple of different ways yourself and see how it holds up, and how you feel. Definitely once it gets dark and you're partying, you could put it into a side ponytail. You probably won't want the veil on all night anyway so a side ponytail would work fine. Likely there will be a bit of a breeze up on the deck but I would bet not enough to really make you feel cool with your hair down. IMO lol Can't believe we're in July already and you're getting so close!!!
  11. Wow - 75 cents? That's great and one heck of a find!! Do you remember roughly how tall they were and did you fill them right up? If I have to transport the frame home in my carry on I'm going to do it! lol I absolutely want to bring it home and hopefully put a nice photo in it once we have pictures back. I like the hoodie in the pictures. It's a pretty colour.
  12. @@maybeoneday My family are all in the Midlands, specifically Nottingham area (just about 20 minutes away). Thanks on the starfish! I think they turned out rather well!
  13. @@dreamweddings Thanks Joyce! Good luck with the "Bridal Coach!" You've definitely helped keep me sane!
  14. Ok ladies. So I decided to try and be crafty and I'm so proud of myself!!! I've already said that I must have been in the bathroom when God handed out the creativity genes - I don't have a creative bone in my body. But boy oh boy, I'm learning! So here is a product of my handiwork! I got the idea from another bride and absolutely loved it!! I'm going to use them to attach to my chair bows (once I decide on the colour!) We were away camping for 5 days in PA and it poured rain. So what do the smart ones do when it pours rain on a camping trip?? They go.....shopping! I went into my first Christmas tree shops and found a bunch of stuff for OOT bags!! At very reasonable prices! I found SHOUT wipes that I had been looking for and since we have a super small group, I found tubes of tylenol and advill for pretty cheap. I also found starfish!! Two different sizes. I went to Hobby Lobby and got the backs for brooch pins and glued them on. Here's the finished product:
  15. @maybeoneday Wow - that's absolutely gorgeous!!! You're going to look gorgeous! Maggie makes beautiful gowns. I looked at a few and liked them but couldn't get exactly what I wanted. I still would prefer a ruffled bottom on my dress, but the one I really wanted would have set me back $2,000 canadian which is just about £1,000. More than hubby wanted to pay out since it's a renewal and not our wedding. But I ended up getting my dress for a fabulous price and I LOVE it! What part of the UK are you in? When do you travel and how long are you going for? We fly on the 18th of October and our renewal is on our anniversary, which is the 20th.
  16. @TNT2015 Your invites turned out great and I love the colour! Your colour scheme is going to be beautiful!
  17. @@Tallbride515 Hi! Congrats on your wedding! You looked beautiful! I'm curious about the sand ceremony box. I bought one, but I'm trying to figure out what to buy to put the two sand colours in to pour it? I'm looking at the picture you posted and I see a bottle on either side of the frame. Did you get those yourself or did the resort provide them? If you got them, where did you find them? I'm trying to figure out the size. I have I think it's one pound containers of the two colours of sand but have no idea what size to buy to be able to hold the right amount of sand! Any info would be appreciated!! Thanks!!
  18. Ladies - @dreamweddings Joyce absolutely knows what she's talking about! I already said yes and I was definitely in full on panic mode when I emailed her!! We had a disaster with Azul Fives, we're a super small group and I just didn't know which way to go. Joyce has saved our vow renewal and I know that it's going to be something very special because of her!! Thank you Joyce!!
  19. I took a look at the dresses afterwards, and she's right - there are some really, really pretty ones!!
  20. Let me guess.... are you by any chance on a superbox? lol The majority of the delivery employees are so lazy they won't even try to deliver. They sit on the truck and fill out the card and stick it in either a mailbox or a superbox. They get to leave when their "deliveries" are done so guess what....
  21. Sometimes it's the plane that gets the bugs started. Seems like almost every time I fly I get a sore throat of something. Love the pics. Wow - that gazebo is really something! Absolutely beautiful!
  22. I worked for Canada post for 6 years, and 2 strikes. Don't even get me started.....
  23. @@vancouverpetunia You totally should get the other dress!! Have both! Wear the lacey one for the ceremony... then the other one to party in!! lol
