That's the same package we had and Doug wants to do it again. You get extra alcohol on the plane too!! lol He said it was so worth it, especially the priority boarding with a wedding dress!!! It lets you get an overhead bin to put your dress in then stand guard so nobody messes it up!!! And 4 years ago when we went with Transat to Jamaica they did not have a closet to put a dress into so stake out your claim on an overhead!! lol I ordered one in navy. The price was too good to pass up. For a strapless long dress? Absolutely. I can wear that colour so many different places and ways. Now i just have to hope the sizing works out!!!

@@diadiamond Glad to hear the bachelorette was a good time!! Any party where you can at least remember part of it is a good one! I think I've had one hangover in my life - well actually 2 now that I think about it. One was a banana liqueur new year's eve one and the other was Mexico. Senor Frogs in Playa del Carmen. We're talking Mexican wrestlers.... and a conga line. And we have the pics to prove it sadly. We were at Catalonia Royal Tulum. The cab driver actually rolled the window down in the back of the cab on the way back to the resort. My husband says I sang all the way through the lobby when we got back (I did not!!!) but he likes to tell everyone that I did. I remember getting really upset because the conga line went right past a tequila stand where you had to open your mouth for a shot as you went by and I absolutely HATE tequila!! lol I was in a little bit of pain the next day but there was no way I was going to let Doug see! lol But I have never had a 2 day hangover! Ouch!! lol @@TinkerSofi I'm very happy you stopped "to smell the roses" on your wedding day. You're so right - it does go by way too quickly. We arrived in Jamaica on Saturday but didn't get married until Thursday, then back home on Saturday so that was a really wicked week. I was heartbroken to come home because it felt like we didn't get enough time there! lol @ I don't think you'll have a let down after your wedding at all! You'll be so busy being a "newlywed" that you won't have time for wedding blues!! You'll be busy with thank you cards and you also have Christmas coming up when you get home so you'll be a very busy lady!! It will all be fine, you'll see. You're just going to be so happy being married you won't even think about it!!

Punta Cana - Photographer
acw271011 replied to FutureMrsVanthof's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/78626-kcole123-planning-thread-april-17-2015-melia-caribe-tropical/ This was a bride that got married in April in Punta Cana. I have no idea what her cost was but her photos are stunning and she used HDC Photography. Plus her vendor fee was even higher than what you've been quoted so her thread is probably worth a look.- 10 replies

That looks like a good list!! The only thing that jumps out at me is the photographer. Is that for your wedding photos and is it the resort photographer? I'm only asking because Jan, Feb, Mar and April are very busy wedding months so my concern would be about getting someone (?) Otherwise the list looks pretty comprehensive. It's all coming along nicely and will look great!!

You could also go with grey. Soft grey dresses with light purple flowers would be pretty or if it's light purple a blush pink would also be nice.

Thank you both of you @@maybeoneday and @@TinkerSofi I really shouldn't have unloaded. This isn't really the place for it. I just get so frustrated sometimes with all of it and Jessica uses it because Dustin is my stepson. Doesn't matter than his dad and I have been together 14 years. Anyway. Not going to get started again lol Enough said. I'll get a border shipping address and do my things that way. With the US dollar rate the way it is it's almost hardly worth it at all to buy anything down there anyway! lol
-
@@calgarybride2015 No - you're right. Jessica is not in the least bit supportive. Likely because we weren't supportive when she and Dustin got together. Our grandson is the result of one night they spent together, both intoxicated, at Niagara Falls for New Year's Eve. She turned up a few weeks afterwards with - surprise! I still to this day question the paternity. But..... anyway. It was a big thing about whether she was moving here or he was going there. Doug stepped in because of issues we were dealing with about Dustin at the time and basically said look, this kid is not ready for marriage nor is he ready to be a father. He could barely support himself at the time never mind a wife and child. Long story short, Jessica hates canadian hot dogs and since that's about all she eats it was a done deal she wasn't moving here. So they started the process for Dustin to move there. One of the last comments I made was that he had made his bed and had to lie in it and for heaven's sake don't go rushing into having another baby. They got married 5 days after he arrived there (March) then had a "wedding" in October the day before Cayden's first birthday and whoops... guess what. Max arrived 9 months later. Not by accident I can guarantee. That's the bare bones. Believe me when I say there has been a whole lot more in between then and now, none of which makes Jessica happy in any way, shape or form. Her parents reign supreme and we're the $#@%&* canadians that don't count for squat regardless of how many times we visit and how much money we spend. Nothing has ever been, nor will ever be good enough. I can't stand the little *&%$@ but I love my grandsons and Dustin. But neither one of them should be a parent. That's a simple fact. So it's a big deal that I'm having things sent there for Mexico even though all the times (for 3 kids) that Doug went to the Nestle company store and bought baby formula and cereal and baby food, and the new freezer we bought them plus all the clothes and toys, all the birthdays, easters, Christmases that we've driven nearly 5 hours for. None of that counts for or means anything. And yeah, I sent her a message and apologized for having things sent there because seeing my grandsons is too important. Ok. Can't do the tears here at work. Sorry ladies for sounding off. I hope this isn't a situation you find yourselves in a few years from now. It really does suck.

Turning Maybeoneday's Dream To Reality...
acw271011 replied to maybeoneday's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
@maybeoneday I love both dresses and they'll be gorgeous for your legal ceremony. Are you doing it in a chapel or the registry office? The fans are great! I might take a look on ebay here to see. I found something similar on a wedding website but there was a minimum order of 25! Doesn't do me any good since I only need 6! And I think a purple tie for hubby to be will be very smart with the backdrop that you'll have at the Royalton! -
@deecol @vancouverpetunia well I ordered from Lulus. I opted for long but in navy blue. Easy colour to wear multiple places and for lots of occasions and I can do different shoes/purse/jewellery to change the look. I took the easy shipping so it will be two weeks before it gets here, and I did have it sent here rather than to the US. My daughter in law has decided no more anything sent to them in the US. No idea why. She started off her note with "I'm not trying to be mean but....". I feel so sorry for my son married to her. She's a lazy so and so that does absolutely nothing. My son is the one that does the cooking and cleaning and she bitches constantly at him. What's so frustrating is that we can't say anything because she would turn around and tell us we can't see the boys anymore so we will pick up what has arrived and that will be the end of it. It means looking for a border spot for pick ups which there is but oh I would really love to scream at the little witch!! Sorry - just needed to vent for a second.

Ideas On Where To Honeymoon From Vegas Wedding?
acw271011 replied to newlyengaged12's topic in Honeymoon Forum
We did a drive of LA and up the coast a bit and really enjoyed it. We did the fancy stores on Rodeo Drive (from a distance course! lol) and also did up where the Hollywood sign is by the observatory, Mulholland Drive where some of the stars live, Malibu, couple of the beach areas along there (Redondo was one of them). I loved LA and we've always said we would go back. San Francisco is supposed to be gorgeous too. Depending on how far you want to go and how much time you have, you could go right up the coast or as @@calgarybride2015 suggested into Arizona to Lake Meade and the Hoover Dam area. -
Groomsmen Suggestions !
acw271011 replied to FutureMrsVanthof's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
My vote would be for grey for the guys. With coral it would really look good. Or you could also do navy with the coral. Both wold look great. Would you consider having them add a vest that would change the plain? You could still do the white shirts but the vest would break it up a bit. Just a thought. -
Congrats and welcome! Vegas is on my wish list so I'm afraid I won't be any help. But I wondered if you have guests going with you? Have you talked to a travel agent? Does the hotel have wedding packages that give you what you want? I remember looking at Mandalay Bay and I seem to remember they had a rooftop pool area that looked like a beach, so it looked like you were actually getting married on a beach! Definitely take a look through the site. There might be reviews that will be a little bit helpful. Otherwise I would definitely consider talking to a travel agent and see if they can shed some light on your wants and must haves, as well as the don't wants! Good luck and keep us posted!

@yycbride2016 @calgarybride2015 Thank you both of you! You ladies are so good for an old lady's ego!! lol Sometimes I think all of this stuff is even harder than coming through all the surgeries and hospital stays! I just wanted something simple but special! Oh well. It will all be over soon then we can lie by the pool and drink!!

Thanks for the review! They always help out future brides when trying to make decisions. Cabo is a beautiful place to get married. I hope you post more pics! Congrats on being a Mrs!

Meandhim - Grand Palladium Bavaro - Nov 2015
acw271011 replied to Meandhim's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
Everything looks great!!! The door hangers are perfect! I like how you've tied the theme together! Are you planning to be at the BDW meet on Oct 2nd? If so, I'll borrow the hole punch for the door hangers then if it's ok. I don't have many to do - just 10. I'd be able to get it right back to you. I was going to have them printed today at Staples but wasn't feeling well so might try and get them done tomorrow. -
Oh these are awesome! I found a couple from someone on the facebook page for VIM and wow! That's the only word that comes to mind. I'm SO anxious to see this place! It looks absolutely beautiful! Question - did you spend a lot of time at the private pool, or did you spend time at the "party pool"? I'm still hoping our travel agent gets us an upgrade to a Golden Suite because I think for pictures it would great, but we're in a Silver for now. I'm still trying to decide on a "first look" and can't make up my mind. If I find a really nice spot I might go ahead with it. I can send you an email address if you want to send the other map but it's entirely up to you. Don't want you to go to any trouble.

@@Wafflesmom Ok please don't make me cry!! lol I'm so so nervous about this dress for Doug to see. It wasn't my original choice - the original was about 3 times the cost! And after getting so overheated in it last night I'm a little worried. It was quite a bit bigger on me too than expected. Thanks so much for the boost!!

Janjin's Planning Thread - Azul Sensatori
acw271011 replied to Janjin's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
It all looks good to me! The only thing I would say is if you're this close to your wedding date, definitely get your hair and makeup appointments made particularly if you have several girls and moms. You don't know what other weddings there are the same day as yours and it will allow the resort to plan their staffing accordingly to ensure you get the best possible service and be on time! -
@RivieraBride15 If you're at all concerned, contact them. If it's going to put your mind at ease, send a quick email and ask them. Mention that you're only 10 weeks out now and if everything is to be finalized by the end of September, when will you hear from the coordinator to get it all done. Yes - it varies with every resort and you're right, they do have lots of brides. But it's also your wedding and if all you're asking is when you'll hear from someone, you're entitled to ask!! You aren't being a pain! I would absolutely send a quick note and see what they say! Good luck!

Aww thanks! My friend just grabbed my hair and pinned it so that we could get an idea of the veil length and she put it higher than I wanted but at least it gave me a general idea. We took yards and yards of crinoline out so it toned the dress down a lot!! Which is what I wanted but standing and standing while they pinned and in such a small space I was ready to pass out from the heat. I'm just hoping that being on an open air terrace in mexico makes it nowhere near as bad as it was last night. Also - anyone have any tips on the best way to break in shoes????? Yikes!

I finally got to try my dress on tonight. I HATE the pictures, and really hate having my picture taken. I had a long day today and am absolutely exhausted so the photos are even worse than they would normally be. Keep in mind that the back isn't properly and totally laced up. We were also no in a big room so the back of the dress wasn't properly "puffed" out. It's I think one of the big things that attracted me to the dress. But.... here it is on. Sadly I rushed out of here this morning and forgot the "later" dress (still haven't decided what I'm doing with it yet) so having that one on will have to wait for the weekend.
