Congrats and welcome! Take a look through the various threads to see if there is anything that might be helpful. I haven't seen anything recently for a Beaches resort but there may be something in the threads that comes up when you do a search. Good luck and happy planning!

Wow - that sounds really high! Who told you that, or have you actually looked into pricing? -
Janjin's Planning Thread - Azul Sensatori
acw271011 replied to Janjin's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
@@Janjin Everything looks great!! That purple colour is very rich and I think will be very elegant. I love the resorts with the deck like yours. There have been several brides here that have used the Karisma resorts and had it and it's just gorgeous!! I love what you're thinking for the set up. Very pretty! What sort of tag did you get from Vistaprint for your maracas? it's so pretty! I only need about 8 tags so it isn't worth it for me, but I really like how it turned out. I'm using a similar saying on ours too. I think a lot of brides use it. That and "Shake for a Kiss" is the other popular one. Definitely push to repurpose your flowers. I can't see why not! And you're paying for them so for sure it makes sense!! -
Wow - your dress is beautiful!! It's perfect for a Jamaica wedding!! And i love your BM gifts. Gorgeous colour!! Your invites are great!!

There are a couple around. We're doing our renewal on October 20th and maybeoneday is getting married on October 14th. Not sure if any of the other brides are still active on the site.

Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?
acw271011 replied to kerrij's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I would definitely go with the Pisces if you have the budget and the group size. It's well worth it! It's such a pretty setting and it's exclusive to you for your reception. During the day it's the "hang out" for lunch and where the Jerk Chicken is (also really good!!). You might want to recommend bug spray just in case. I got married there nearly 4 years ago and a word of warning - April is a very, very windy month. Not sure why. The gazebo gets a really nice breeze. If you're having your hair done at the spa, they'll use what they teasingly call "cement" to hold your hair and it really does work! Keeps your hair in place. -
I ended up at People's on the weekend. It wasn't at all what I wanted. I wanted another band just like my wedding band but a single since my band is an embraceable so my e-ring fits inside my wedding band. But when we started trying different ones, the same width just didn't look as nice as I thought it would. She brought out the rose gold one like this one so really thin, and it looked really nice. Then she added a second one and it was gorgeous. We swapped out the rose just to see because I kept telling her I wanted the yellow gold to match my set. She put the white gold on and wow! It just makes my rings pop! Plus I'm having my e-ring reset because the prongs are wearing down. Doug is letting me switch to a halo setting so the girl in People's suggested doing it in white gold. Pull the whole thing together colour wise. Not totally sure yet on changing to white gold with my yellow gold band but she said with all of the two tone rings they sell, it will look really nice. I'd like to have it done in time for Mexico but we'll see.

@@deecol Happy anniversary today!! Hope it all goes great!! Four seems to be a popular number this year! We're married four years on October 20th! So happy we finally get to celebrate an anniversary properly this year instead of in the hospital!!

No - scan it yourself into pdf format and email it. It will be enough to get the paperwork started. Then just give the coordinator the originals when you arrive. -
@@TinkerSofi Love the pics!! Can't see why they need to be edited but wow - if he does they'll be fabulous! Trying to watch the vid but blocked here so will have to do it later. Thanks so much for the tips on the wedding DJ app. It helps a lot. The big question I have is that we don't NEED wifi to be able to run it?? That's what I was worried about because I know Mexico can have really bad or really good wifi access. The thing is I know there won't be any where we will be so we absolutely need to be able to run the app without wifi!!

Turning Maybeoneday's Dream To Reality...
acw271011 replied to maybeoneday's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
@maybeoneday The jewellery is gorgeous!! With your dress it will be beautiful! The hangers is really pretty! I bought one from a past bride here just for photos. I didn't personalize it, and it actually seemed a bit silly because it says bride on it so I really don't know if I'm going to use it or not. I just wanted something nice to hand my dress on for the photographer! lol It sounds like you're getting everything all together! We're on countdown now. I can't wait to go. We put in our flyer miles certificates yesterday to the travel agent and paid our trip balance so it brings it so much closer! I hate wishing time away but I'm anxious for the resort now. You're an early riser!! lol -
We bought a bluetooth speaker on the weekend to use for the ceremony and then dinner. Since we're on a terrace at both places with no wifi or plugs we're using Doug's tablet for part of it and I think my iphone for part. The speaker is a Bose and it sounds awesome! I really like it. The other thing we did was go shopping for a band and I ended up with two! Totally not what I was thinking I wanted but working with the girl in the jeweller's it worked out great. My rings are yellow gold so I naturally went looking for the same. But she brought out a rose gold and a white gold and before I could say no, I was picking the white gold. It really looks nice with my rings. Again, not at all what I expected. They're out being sized so I won't get them for about 2 weeks but here's the pic.I'm going to do one on either side of my wedding ring and it totally blings it out!

Oh I love all of those, especially the memory box! That's beautiful. The bags are a great idea! Have you had your date put onto them? -
@@TinkerSofi Sorry - I didn't mean to hijack your thread. I meant to post this stuff in my own but I was jumping screens and got it all mixed up. I wanted to ask you about the wedding DJ app. Did you use it with Wifi? Or was bluetooth sufficient? How did your timing work for the in betweens? Like signing your papers and stuff? Or did you have someone actually running it for you? My son is I think going to walk me across the terrace, but then if necessary I think I could have him run the app if I had to. Did you set your own timing or is it preset? I'm having a tough time figuring the app out. Any tips or pointers would be so appreciated!! Please and thank you!

I ordered Vows books since we aren't going to be having a regular ceremony. I figured that was easier than pieces of paper. I ordered them in the colours I'm using so one will be pink and the other turquoise. They weren't expensive but I did the design and sent it and it was a lady on Etsy that did it. Just waiting for them to arrive. We bought a bluetooth speaker on the weekend to use for the ceremony and then dinner. I've been on this site for a long time now and have seen a ton of brides come and go. We had our own wedding plans completely fall apart 4 years ago and went to Jamaica just the two of us to get married. It will only suck if you let it. Be as organized as you can. Use lists and spreadsheets if you're comfortable with them. Take breaks from the planning!! And the most important - do your best not to sweat the small stuff!! It all does come together and will be great!

Taking Son To Punta Cana For Our Wedding
acw271011 replied to LesTee's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
I know there have been a few brides here married in the DR that had small kids present so if you do a search in the search bar up top for that resort I'm sure any questions will be answered in the threads. Here are 2 of them but there was just too many to post. Do a search up top and about a dozen will come up. Spend some time reading through. They'll give you loads of info. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/77311-now-larimar-2015/ http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/72826-now-larimar-2014-brides/ Good luck!- 1 reply

Congrats and welcome! October is a nice month to get married in Jamaica. I was married nearly 4 years ago (October 20, 2011) at the Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica in Runaway Bay. We loved it, and the Jamaican people. The resort was wonderful, and even though it was only the two of us, they treated us like a king and queen. We were married in the gazebo on the beach and then went off resort for photos afterwards. It rained for about 10 minutes right after our ceremony then it dried up just as quickly. It's still very warm in October - our ceremony was at 1:00 pm - but for some reason that resort and the gazebo have a wonderful breeze that comes in off the water and it's gorgeous. There are several past and present Jamaica brides on the site so there will be no shortage of information for you to dig up. Good luck and happy planning!

@@CandanceWilliams2be Congrats and welcome! @@calgarybride2015 is right on target I think with her suggestions to you. And definitely Wright Travel are destination wedding specialists and worth looking at for assistance with your planning! There are quite a few DR brides (past and present) on the site so it would be worth doing some reading and searching through the site for information as well, just by typing into the search bar at the top. Good luck!
