Your review is great and I'm so happy it all turned out in spite of the bumps!! You looked beautiful and it sounds like your legal ceremony was really special too!! I wish I had some advice on the "blues" but I didn't go through it so there isn't anything I can say. We were so busy recovering our "disaster" for our wedding that there wasn't a whole lot of planning really. We were just two and then so busy with family afterwards and our at home reception that it wasn't an issue. I worked for a really nasty senior partner at the time so I didn't have time for blues afterwards lol The other thing - we have kids and grandchildren so that always occupies our time in a big way. I agree with @calgarybride2015 I think it will pass. You'll be so busy being a newlywed!! All the best and congrats again! I hope you're in for the next GTA ladies meet!!

I'm in for sure and will notch the calendar. Not sure where I'll be coming from but I would think between 530 and 6 for me unless I can make it earlier! Looking forward to it! The resto looks amazing!! (better than my last fiasco!!)

Dj Encore At Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun
acw271011 replied to Kaitlyncrossley's topic in Destination Wedding Articles
I don't know anything about the resort but I did a search and found the two links below that will be worth a read. More links came up but too many to post. If you do a search up to under NOW Sapphire DJ you'll get them to come. Definitely give them a read. Good luck! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/66415-official-now-jade-wedding-thread/ http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/62152-now-sapphire-weddings-formerly-paradisus-riviera/page-175- 1 reply

I believe in the end there were only 5 fatalities. As sad as that is, it could have been so much worse! We're getting the remnants here tomorrow but thankfully nothing like what Mexico had to endure. -
Congrats and welcome to the site! Getting a TA is definitely something that is recommended, if only for your own sanity in the planning process. Your TA will become your new bff as you go through your planning journey. Try to see if there are people willing to provide a reference or references. Can the TA provide any? As about response time for questions - how long do they usually take to reply? Have they handled a lot of weddings? What is their experience level with large groups? You don't say if you're in the US or canada - the questions might vary a little depending on where you are. Is there a fee they charge for their services? If you're in the US will they be helping guests find separate flights? Are they a top award agency with any of the resort chains? Are they certified for any of the resort chains - the owners of this site are Karisma certified agents and are top award winners. I'm sure some of the other ladies will chime in with other questions they asked as well. Good luck!

Congrats and welcome. I think it will be as romantic as you're willing to make it. There is something to be said for being completely on your own for your honeymoon like that. Definitely talk it through though. If it's something you aren't totally on board with, let hubby to be know that and talk it through. Good practice for life together! lol

Have you tried David's Bridal? I know that may be a cliche but they really do have some nice styles for MOB and can go up to I think about a 22 or 24. I don't know what the budget is but there is also the Dessy Group website. They do both bridesmaids and moms if I remember correctly. I think if you find any local bridal store that has a website you'll be able to see what the store has. Good luck!

I have a couple of shots - not great ones - but at least a couple I can share. I'm hoping to have a couple more by the end of the week. I'll be honest - it sucks being home lol We totally fell in love with the resort and all over again with Mexico. We're so close to getting serious about retiring that it's hard to come home. It was harder for me this time around. I lost my job yesterday. I was told it was a business decision and that they aren't replacing me. Whatever. What I actually think is that my manager, who is a total idiot, didn't like me calling him out on stuff. He was my 3rd in about 13 months and the worst. A manager that the day before my last day before vacation actually said to me "what do you mean you're off next week" Yep - you heard right. Anyway, it is what it is and what's done is done. In some ways I'm relieved. So on to bigger and better things. I hope. Sorry - I don't know why some of them are upside down. I reloaded them and they came out the same way. The rainbow came out after a quick shower right before our renewal ceremony. It's supposed to be really good luck so fingers crossed on that one (not so sure so far). Doug absolutely loved the cake top and knew immediately what it meant. He said "you even got the beer right" lol (Corona). I'm thrilled with how my rings looked but it is taking some getting used to. Our sand turned out beautifully and survived the trip home. Once we have our photos I'll add one onto the glass. As an FYI for anyone going to Mexico, you can most definitely bring your bouquet back if you want if you're using real flowers. I did. And I got through customs with no problems because they're cut flowers, not plants. We completed the part of the customs form about fruit, vegetables, etc as a "yes" so that you do declare them to the agent but they sweep you through. The people ahead of us had one too. I was prepared for them to take it and when he said we could go, I said "you mean I can keep it?" and he laughed and said "I'm not even going there. I don't want that argument trying to take someone's wedding flowers." We checked the canada customs website before we left and found nothing that said we couldn't take it. I got it home but it did get a little beaten up, sprayed it with aerosol hairspray and hung it upside down to dry. It was absolutely gorgeous as you can see from the photos. Just a little tiny shop in Playa barely big enough to swing a cat but boy does he do a nice job on flowers. Oh before I forget - thanks so much ladies for the tip on the two sided tape. It worked fantastic both on my necklace and on my dress straps. Kept both perfectly in place.

You're probably here now but have a wonderful week and a gorgeous wedding. The weather has improved tremendously and we've had sunshine. Spotty showers here and there and a torrential downpour last night but during the day it's holding OK. If the humidity would let up you'll be fine. We have found the humid days are the ones but rains!

This kind if hurricane will devastate the area. People here are getting messages from family asking if everyone is OK. We've been in PV but not Manzanillo but the area will be hit hard. They depend so much on tourism. -
Thank you all of you. the day started with major panic and a whole lot of tears and I really wondered if we were going to actually get there. But in the end it was wonderful!! once we got settled it was perfect. Styling Trio are the most awesome, most fantastic, greatest hair and makeup people around. If you're using them you are in the best possible hands and will look fantastic!! I can guarantee that!! For those of you with Samuel Luna he is the kindest, most down to earth sweetest photographers I have ever come across. He took hundreds of pictures and I can't wait to see them Were hoping by Xmas or before. The weather did turn around and the sun came out and it was fantastic. Doug was so handsome. We did a first look and the look on his face was so worth it. His vows made me bawl my eyes out and the minister actually got me a tissue. The video should be interesting lol because I was crying so much. Mike Cantrell did our video and it will likely be January before we get if because he's so busy. we have another fabulous day today and we have been on the beach and by the pool all day. Dinner at La Casa del Agua was beyond my expectations. The food was out of this world and a thousand times more than we hoped for. I got a beautiful Pandora charm as an anniversary gift - the palm tree. Doug said he thought it would be more of a special reminder of this trip than the "happy anniversary" charm. Who knew I have such a romantic hubby lol We got back last night to rose petals all over the room. wine chilling and a bath full of petals. it was beautiful. Oh yeah and a huge towel swan in hearts that took 4 towels to make. I can't believe we're half way already. I'll add more details when we're home. Hoping the weather cooperates for the rest of the week. The first couple of days were brutal!! Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk Hey Tiff - were in 1319. The French was totally fabulous. We're doing the Mexican tonight and we think they might be doing something special for us. They screwed up big time yesterday and now they're trying to make up for it. Def call when you're in. This place has some unbelievable places where we had pictures taken yesterday!!! Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk

Kim I'm actually surprised it's still as humid as it is. We had dinner right down near the water and there was an awesome breeze but as soon as you step away from there you can feel the humidity. now we're in the sports bar just watched the end of my PATRIOTS football game. GO PATS! Having more drinks.... oh dear this could so easily become a habit.. Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk

aahhhh we're on the plane! Ok this is real now. our first trip for our anniversary since we got married!!! Thank you ladies. You're making me cry which I've already done twice this morning! I still can't believe we've made it to here and now!!! Now its time to bring on our signature drink - blue daiquiries!!
-
Well we're packed and ready to go. Fingers are done. Toes are done. I really cannot believe this trip is here. And I've stayed out of the hospital, which is the most important thing!! Doug was having kittens tonight with finishing off the packing. We really do have more than I realized. Ouch. I think we'll just make our weight allowance barely. But Doug is as bad for clothes as I am. It's just the rest of the stuff that is a lot! lol And I took stuff out when my son cancelled!! Oh well. I will try and post an update if I can.

Deecol's Planning Thread - Gbp - April 30Th, 2016

You're going to look fantastic! And your dress will fit beautifully with a corset back! I've always loved that style, which is what mine is! lol -
First off, on your flowers - I'll be honest. I really like them with your shades of blue. And I don't think anyone will notice because I think they'll match really well. If anything it will set off the shades of blue quite nicely! Blue is my favourite colour so I always like finding colours that will look nice with any shade of blue and set it off and I think your flowers will do that. Your shower looks like it was a great time! You definitely have some special people on your side! I'm sorry your mom couldn't make it. I'm sure she was there in thought and hopefully she's better soon. Unfortunately it's that season again. Woohoo! Bachelorette at Remington's! Sounds like you'll have a great night!! lol

Wow! I absolutely LOVE your dress!! It looks fantastic on you and I just adore the ruffles! That style is stunning and truth be told - right up my alley! lol It will be fabulous in Mexico. Just gorgeous!! And love the shoes! Are you doing a veil?

@@Wafflesmom it was with Liz. her English is perfect!! and she's great. asked me about things I hadn't even thought of! I'm doing my trial on Monday then the full whirl for our anniversary. I got these beautiful shiny combs from Bitter Sweet to put in my hair so that I can take the veil off and Liz asked for a photo of them so that the stylist will know ahead of time where to put them. @@Sam1214 Congrats and welcome! @@calgarybride2015 has given you perfect advice! Her wedding was gorgeous - you should definitely take a look at her pics. There are several other brides-to-be here that are using the same resort. She's also absolutely right about choosing the resort being the hardest. i looked at resorts until my brain hurt, then just when i thought we were done and ready to go, a few things went wrong and I ended up back on the hunt again. But our situation is unusual so don't let it worry you. The Karisma properties are beautiful too, as are the Dreams. It will completely depend on what you want and don't want and the price point you want for your guests, your overall budget, how many guests will be attending. The good thing is that November is still low season so your price point should be a bit lower. Just bear in mind that hurricane season runs until November 30th. Some people just don't want to take the risk. Others don't worry about it at all. Another reason why a good travel agent will become your new BFF as you go through your planning journey. Good luck and happy planning!
