Check the forums under Buy, Sell, Trade. I just saw a bunch of coral things there for sale 2 days ago. I'm not sure what's left yet, but check it out. There are multiple sellers there. It was a toss up for me between coral and fuschia and the fuschia won out to go with turquoise so that's my colours. I love the bright pink with the turquoise. Good luck! I'm sure you'll find something!

Congrats and welcome to BDW! You didn't say much about when or where you're getting married, but I know you'll find tons of information and ideas that will help you out. I don't know if you've heard of a site called "Vistaprint". It's quite popular with the brides on the site. They're at www.vistaprint.ca and they do ship internationally. Their prices are very reasonable and they are always running sales with discounts. I know right now they have something on where everything is ten dollars so it may be worth a look. The other site I know a lot of the brides use is www.etsy.com I believe there is somewhere on there that allows you to download templates, but there may be a cost invovled. Definitely worth a look. They have almost everything you can think of there - jewellery, veils, cake toppers, invites, flowers. It's all there. I would also suggest that you do a search in the search bar at the top for whatever you're looking for and see what it brings up. I was just looking for the rack cards the other day and did it that way, and ended up with about half a dozen different ones to look at. Then I went onto vistaprint and voila! I now have "Do Not Disturb" rack cards! I'm sure there will be other brides to be that will chime in along the way and pass on other tips! Good luck and happy planning!

New Playacar Bride? Donation For You
acw271011 replied to Twinkies2011's topic in Forum News & Updates
That is a super generous thing to do! What goes around comes around, so I know your wedding will be wonderful and everything you've dreamed of! Congratulations and happy planning! -
Congrats ladies! Both of your weddings are coming up quickly! And you both sound like you have everything well under control! I have been to Antigua once, many years ago as part of a cruise so it was only a day stop unfortunately. It's a beautiful island though, and definitely a gorgeous place for a wedding!! I'm in the Toronto area, and we still have lots of snow, and it's still quite cold although it does seem like we might get a few milder days coming! I have almost all of my family in the UK and they have all thankfully managed to stay dry. One family member left for Cypress yesterday and another is off to Majorca for 2 weeks at Easter so I'm totally envious!! Good luck to both of you and have the wedding of your dreams!

Oddly enough, the legal wedding rules in Mexico are the reason we opted to get married in Jamaica! As much as we both love Mexico, and have been several times, being there "X" number of days in advance, plus translating all the paperwork, etc was just too much, and I found out it was going to be upwards of $750 to have all the paperwork translated into spanish. Jamaica was easy and fun. No hassle and we did get legally married there. I wanted my wedding date to be my "wedding date". Now if health things work out and we get to do our vow renewal next year, I want to do it in Mexico since all that's needed for that is a symbolic ceremony! Good luck everyone and happy planning!

I'm very surprised at the difficulty expressed about getting married in Jamaica! We did and it really was easy peasy! No hassle. Not expensive. And we were both divorced! I would highly recommend it! No muss. No fuss . No bother! I like the idea, for those getting married ahead of time, of doing it secretly and not telling guests. I think it takes away something. My son got married in a courthouse in march because he married an american girl and they had 90 days to get married, even though they had been together for a while (just long distance commuting). But then they turned around and had a "proper" wedding in September. Proper why? Does that mean their courthouse wedding was improper? I still don't understand why you would have a wedding 6 months after getting married. Which do you use as your anniversary date? In my mind, your anniversary is the day you get married. Ergo, March. But my daughter in law uses the September date. To me that doesn't even recognize the day you actually became husband and wife, which is the day it begins. It sort of takes away from the magic of it. Why wouldn't you refer to it then as a vow renewal instead of your wedding? Sorry - just my old lady opinion.

Three Hours Or Six?
acw271011 replied to LissaSou's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Well said @@JaxBchKay! I have a similar timeline from another photographer, and was just looking for it to post it! This one has the timeline just a little tighter than the one I have. This one doesn't leave much margin for error, or extra time at all. I would say work with this one and give yourself a cushion of at least 10 or 15 minutes each way. Having said that, I've heard great things about Dean Sanderson! Good luck and happy planning! -
The dress looks beautiful! My only question would be are you happy with the way they've attached the skirt part at the bottom? Maybe it's just the way it's hanging, but the seam doesn't seem straight, and I would wonder if it's supposed to just flow instead of looking like the bottom was attached? Sorry, just curious?

First of all, I would double check with GBPJ, just in case. They can be a little screwy when it comes to booking dates. I had a terrible time initially. They would tell me dates were available, thenI would confirm by email for a date a matter of hours later, and they would return email and tell me the date was gone. In that short of a period fo time? Really? I sometimes would think they would work the wedding times around what was comfortable for their schedule! So I would strongly recommend that you go back to them and just check. What about another week? They can't have the entire month of May booked up already for next year! The alternative that we looked at was Lady Hamilton. The price point was about the same, and it's a really nice resort as well. The reviews were good, but I'm going back a few years (early 2011) so I don't know if anything has changed. The other one that has appeared on this site is the Royalton White Sands. Brand new resort. Looks really nice in the photos. They seem to have a few kinks at the moment, which they will probably work out before next year. It's in Falmouth so not that far from MoBay. Take a look on line and see. Then if you do a search in the search bar at the top for the resort, there is someone that posted there that attached all of the menus, wedding packages, requirements, etc. Might be worth a look. I'm a GBPJ bride as well and we absolutely fell in love with the resort and Jamaica! I don't know how much flexibility you have as far as your wedding date, but if you can be just a little, I think it would be worth it for GBPJ! Good luck and happy planning!!!

Dress Shopping
acw271011 replied to kellymiller's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
the other thing too, if you watch SYTTD, the bigger the posse, the harder the final decision seems to be just because there is so much disagreement on what the bride should be wearing! lol -
Oh I love this! We met on a dating website too! Quest. Almost 13 years ago! We had both been separated over a year. The funny thing is the first comment he made, lol he made me mad and I fired back a real angry message! It turns out he has a picture of me from a year before we met! We were both at a Nascar race in Michigan (we're in Canada so it makes it even weirder) and he took a pic of the section where I was. If you enlarge the photo I'm in it! We chatted for 3 weeks before I would give in and go on a first date. After talking the whole night, it ends up we went to rival high schools and he split from his ex 3 days after I split with my ex, only we didn't know it. The second date was 3 days after the first, and we've literally been together ever since. We've been through some really rough times together, especially with health stuff. We're both older and have been trying to blend 4 kids together into a family. It hasn't all been easy. But we have 7 beautiful grandchildren and we've made it through the tough stuff. In the beginning I kept asking him where he had been all my life and he said that if we had met 20 years before it probably wouldn't have worked. We both needed to go through everything we had been through to get to where we were. Now we hopefully have just one more hurdle to get over, and maybe life will give us a break for a little while and we can celebrate our vow renewal next year!

Newbie! Grand Palladium Vallarta Bride 2015 :)
acw271011 replied to DoubleD2015's topic in Newbies!!
Congrats and welcome to the site! You will definitely find a whole lot of planning information and tips here! You've picked a beautiful spot to get married! Don't hesitate to make use of the resort and vendor review sections where past brides have posted their experiences. You'll find everyone here is more than willing to share their ideas! Good luck and happy planning! -
Yes. The Dreams resort that is going to Hyatt is the Dreams Cancun. It can be confusing since the names are so similar, but the Dreams Riviera Cancun will continue to belong to AMR! Someone made a comment that they had heard that the sale of Dreams Cancun to Hyatt was in doubt, but I haven't been able to find any release about it. No worries ladies on Dreams Riviera Cancun.

I've never heard of anything being superstitious about Tuesdays so go for it if that's what you want! We got married on a Thursday and the only bad part of it was that we had to fly home on Saturday. I would have preferred a Monday or Tuesday just to have some time at the resort after the wedding. Nice thing is if our vow renewal goes ahead, it will be on a Tuesday!

March 2015 Grand Bahia Principe (Jamaica) Brides!
acw271011 replied to Cam2424's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Congrats and welcome to BDW! This site will be a huge help to you in your planning! I'm also a GBPJ bride! I would suggest you check out the other larger sites for GBPJ. There is a virtual TON of information from current and past brides that will most likely cover everything you're looking for! From florists to menus, photographers, videographers, locations at the resort. It's all there. A few things have changed since I was married there. The outside vendor fee is now $800. There are two florists that will work with the resort that are both very highly recommended for different reasons, and depending on what you want. I went with Tai Flora and really liked them. Other brides have gone with Jan's. For photographers, I would recommend Merrick Cousley. He is wonderful, and a joy to work with. Other brides have had good experiences with other local photographers so you'll have a full range of choices. There are also a lot of gallery images as well, so definitely do a search through those and see what's there. There is a gazebo photo on my gallery and a couple of others that may help. Good luck and happy planning! -
Congrats and welcome to the site! You'll definitely find tons of information here that will help you with your planning, and everyone is very willing to share! That being said, you've asked a tough question that I absolutely don't know the answer to! Hopefully someone that has a bit more experience with that will be able to chime in and help out! You didn't say what country you're referring to - the rules may be different from one to the next. You could also try doing a search in the search bar and see what comes up. There have many so many thousands fo brides on this site that someone may have posted something along the way that will give you an answer. Good luck and happy planning!!

It's sad, but as soon as the word "wedding" gets attached to anything, all of a sudden it becomes part of a money grab. I'm sorry you've been caught in the middle of this type of thing. The other sad part is that they know brides will still go, and will still pay because it's what they want for their wedding. Maybe if business starts to go elsewhere for weddings, it might make some of the resorts realize what they're losing. Good luck! I hope things work out for you and that you still have a wonderful wedding!
-
Would absolutely recommend Merrick Cousley. He is a sweetheart to deal with, quick on the emails and his photos are beautiful. His website: www.merrickcousley.com He's also on facebook so you can see his work. A lot of brides rent the gazebo on the beach. If you go to the large forum for this resort you'll have a TON of reading and ideas and tips. I don't think I would recommend the resort disco. It's kinda lame so I don't think you'll get much in the way of dancing there. At least we didn't. Some people enjoyed it but we didn't find the music was too great. Good luck and happy planning!

show us your rings!
acw271011 replied to NABUMBAH's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
ok. I couldn't resist. here's mine... lol boy is it ever hard to take a picture while you're wearing them! lol but I still love it. it's a solitaire inside an embraceable. the catch is I still haven't allowed the jeweller to have it long enough to take the holders off and solder all 3 together! maybe after a few more years when I won't mind it being gone for a few days! lol -
Post your bouquet and inspiration pics here
acw271011 replied to EDYTA's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
This was my bouquet. My mom died when I was 15 but I have a couple of pieces of jewellery that belonged to her. It's a bit hard to see under the bow, but the brooch that I attached to the front of my flowers was hers. It became my something old (it was my grandmother's too) and my something blue because the face of it is blue.
