  1. Hey ladies. Our video is up on my thread. Would love to know what you think. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/78874-acw271011-so-this-is-not-a-planning-thread-but/page-49
  2. We received our highlight video today! Woohoo!!! Made both Doug and I cry! It's just what we wanted. If anyone has any problem seeing it, let me know and I'll try to find another way. I have to give a shout out to Mike Cantarell. He is absolutely awesome to work with and so easy to get in touch with. He was responsive and super sweet! Thanks Miguel!! https://vimeo.com/151660598
  3. @. We just got ours today!!!!!! We LOVE it!! Made both of us cry! I'm going to try to post it. It's the highlight, so just 4 minutes but Cantarell is awesome!!
  4. Woohoo!! Can't wait to see everyone since I missed the last one! Now to just stay healthy..... @. Do you have your photos on something that you can bring? Like a tablet or something the way Rebecca did with hers? It would be so awesome too if Steph has some of hers. @@snswedding2016 Anxious to hear how it all went!!
  5. @@deecol Ashley said she wants to try to make it this time so I think 8 should be ok @ashtayy does this work for you too?
  6. @@claczko Wow it all looks beautiful!! And you were a gorgeous bride!! Where did you have your reception? Is that Pisces? I'm still in love with that gazebo. It was done in pink for us. I love your colours together too. Congrats on being a Mrs!! Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
  7. @@deecol I know right? It makes things SO easy!! I'm waiting to see what they're bringing out for Valentines Day this year.... should be soon so that I can drop hints!! Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
  8. @@deecol @ @@krystalball. Ladies - how do I say thank you? Joe Bidalis is a great idea. I'm always up for Italian but the fact that it's closer to Union means a lot. It will still be an hour for me too getting there but if anyone wants someone to be there earlier to hold space I can do that since I'll be heading down from home. Has anyone heard from Rebecca about being there? Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
  9. Oh Vegas dice! That's cool! I also saw the passport. That would be neat to add. Yeah - I love Pandora too. I'll take a pic of mine tomorrow and add it on your own thread since we've effectively hijacked Dee's lol I can't wear the bangle style. It's just too uncomfortable on my wrist. It's what my sister originally got me but I swapped it out for the serpentine instead and the next one I want the lobster claw clasp. I find the one I have is so hard to open and close. I got the little chain and added it because every time I opened it everything would go flying off. I tried stoppers right at the clasp and they were uncomfortable. The chain isn't much better but at least when I take it off everything doesn't go flying all over the floor!!
  10. @@cruisebride2016 I remember I looked at them, but I can't remember what for. Invites I think. If they have a good sale I would say go for it if it's in your budget. Any wedding vendor that has a good sale is worth following up on. They get you any way they can with pricing!
  11. @yycbride2016 I have one word - Wow!!! I had to go back to about the beginning of October to get caught up!! That's when we were getting organized for Mexico so I was totally AWOL!! Sorry about that. You have done an unbelievable job with everything! Your dress is absolutely STUNNING!!! The veil is beautiful and I love the shoes!! I'm glad it all goes together for you! The groomsmen/groom outfits are super smart! All of your decor is gorgeous!! We did an AHR too, two weeks after we got back from Jamaica and the timing was perfect. I know it's a lot of work, but at least you have help to get it together and I think you'll really enjoy it! We did, mostly because there was no pressure. It was just a fun night of getting caught up with everyone. We did a slide show too of wedding photos that ran for the night since we were just two when we got married. I LOVE the taco idea. One of my favourite foods!!!! lol Your gifts are beautiful and very generous. Love the cufflinks, especially the golf ones! Have you checked out Lulu's online for dresses? You're so tiny you'd have an easy time having something fit and they have some really pretty stuff there that might work for you. And super inexpensive too!! (Bonus!!) Love your cake decision. It's so pretty with the starfish added. My vote is for bouquet #2 and second choice would be #4 but they're all gorgeous!! I'm with you - I love fresh flowers. Another bride to be that is so crafty!! Everything you've done is amazing and will be absolutely gorgeous!! The countdown is on..... Not long to go now!! Judging from the other reviews I've seen going with Lancelotti is a good choice. That's the first time I've heard of a photographer not giving the photo rights to a client so good move to stay away and make another choice. We took a really short video in Mexico and I'm glad we did. I'm hoping we finally get the highlight one this week since it's nearly 3 months. We only had him for 90 minutes and we get a 30 minute video so that worked out perfectly. He missed a lot of stuff because it meant extra vendor fees, and we would have lost a bunch of time in travel but he got our renewal ceremony and our photo session afterwards so I'm anxious to see it. I don't think you'll regret it at all and even more so if parents have stepped in and offered to pay. That will make it even more special!! Oh yes - listened to your first dance song and I love it!! Definitely fits! I've added it to my Spotify list!
  12. @Jennal412 I would go with those reviews. That says a lot more than people complaining on trip advisor. And yeah what Kim (@calgarybride2015) says...
  13. Ha ha! I just added the Mexico charm to my wish list!! I swear I've never seen it before and don't know how I missed it! Ok so you have the Together Forever scroll charm. I like it. I found that one and then the little heart that says you and me. Yep - I have the same pink "Love" plus I also have the pave crystal love one and the matching heart. My bracelet is getting too heavy now. I told Doug I'm almost ready to start a second one... He wanted to know why! lol Me too @deecol Sorry for hijacking....
  14. @deecol Dee you've probably already done this but because we were offsite and dealing with so many different details I made a binder of everything and took it with me. I had emails and photos all put together (not all quite as organized as I wanted but at least I had them) just so that I had the communications and details with me in case anything wasn't the way it was supposed to be.
  15. @Wafflesmom I love your shower pics! it looks like it was a ton of fun, and from what you said about it.... lol Good times and good memories. That's what's important. Happy your dress fits but there wasn't any doubt lol You've done so many great things. The ring bearer outfit is too adorable!! Definitely with the bowtie it wlll be too cute! I love your table numbers, your Mr & Mrs sign. Your OOT bags are so great!! They turned out perfectly! I agree with Kim and would add the tums if you have time. Between drinking and eating in Mexico plus the water.... definitely tums. We found little individual packs of Immodium in the US that I added. Not sure if you can get them here or not but you could always buy a big box and divvy it up. That was definitely something that came in handy. I like the "Come fly with us". Makes your bags more original compared to all the others. Your guests will love them! Oh my gosh you're so close. Counting down.... I can't wait to see what Sam does with your photos! They'll be beautiful, I know it!!
  16. @@deecol Geez you'd think with so many of us downtown it would be a lot easier to come up with locations!!! lol I can't believe it's this hard! I'm trying to think of all the events I've either been to or coordinated downtown and am drawing a blank for a group our size!! I've done stuff for 60 plus which is easy to get private space for but for a smaller group our size it's a lot harder.
  17. What's this??? There's a Mexico charm from Pandora???? Do you have a pic? I swear i've been through their website I don't know how many times.... and I've never seen it!!! I love the palm tree. It looks nice on the bracelet. I already have the "Love" charm and the pink heart from the special last Valentine's Day but now I'm going to look for the "Together Forever" one. Geez..... how do I miss this stuff?????
  18. @deecol I love it and totally agree with @ - it has sentimental meaning. Me too - I say go for it. Doug bought me the palm tree for my bracelt as an anniversary gift and gave it to me in Mexico so definitely something like this would really be special!
  19. I'm a GBPJ bride too (October 2011) and we loved the resort. We had a wonderful experience there. Just as an FYI, there is a huge thread for the resort here: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/44634-any-gran-bahia-principe-runaway-bay-brides-out-there/ It's definitely worth a read even though its' long. There are recent reviews as well as the ones from several years ago. Happy planning brides to be!!
  20. @deecol Where is the King W location? Is it way out?? Not sure about others but @@diadiamond and I are both on the GO (same line) so Yorkville makes it a bit hard from Union. Italian sounds awesome! Just wondered if there is something easier to get to???
  21. @@cporitz Congrats on your upcoming destination wedding! I'm a Jamaica bride from 2011 but I'll admit that when we were looking at group travel, we thought the US would be a better location for us so I looked at Florida, the Keys and also Charleston South Carolina. The one thing I didn't find was an all inclusive resort. Everything was either breakfast only or no meals at all. I'm not sure why. I would definitely get in touch with a travel agent. They're the best ones to recommend resorts while working with your budget and what you want and don't want. Everyone's idea of a destination wedding is different. The owners of this site are destination wedding specialists who I'm sure would have access to information that would help you make an informed decision. You can contact them through this site - Wright Travel - and you can check out their reviews as well in the Vendor Review section. Good luck and enjoy your planning!
  22. @Jennal412 One thing I'll add.... and a lot of the brides here have had the same concern - I would take what's on Trip Advisor with a grain of salt. it's a simple fact that you can't please all of the people all of the time, and some people just have nothing better to do with their time than complain. Unless every single review is absolutely horrible, then I would ask your travel agent if she has sent any other wedding groups there and if they would be willing to provide a review.
  23. The only ones I can think of are country songs! lol Sorry about that. Tim McGraw does one that's pretty special and some people don't consider him to be totally country.... What about "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle I don't think that's a country song. Good luck!. Let us know what you finally decide!
  24. @SunshineDreamKay Congrats and welcome! I'm sorry you need to move your wedding date. Planning a wedding is stressful enough without dealing with that. Having said that, I've been through it myself but we went the opposite way - from November to October and it was Jamaica, so the holiday wasn't a concern. I agree with Joyce - wedding professionals are used to working around holidays. The only complication might be if you're planning to do a legal ceremony in Mexico rather than get married at home first and just do a symbolic ceremony, which many brides do. Some resorts will not count a holiday as one of your "required" days to be at the resort ahead of time for a legal ceremony. The wedding coordinators are around almost all the time so it's highly possible you would still see them around the resort on the holiday! Good luck with your planning!
  25. Wow! That's so pretty! Good luck with getting it sold! I'm sure you won't have any trouble - it's gorgeous!
