Hotel signage is down, 100% official. This hotel is undergoing a transformation. We know the former director of marketing and sales who moved on to open another Playa Mujeres hotel, very near to La Amada and Exc Playa Mujeres hotels. As a hotel is taken from the non gay crowd, a new hotel opens to "any crowd"... http://villapalmarcancun.com/villaSuites IN fact, we had a meeting with Villa Palmar and was told that soonish (i bet now) they are selling rooms at discount pricing as the hotel does some transformation during the building out process. They will be doing weddings there, hopefully soon! Angela, the former Blue Tulum coordinator is also one of our personal friends. At breakfast last week, she told us she still lives in the hotel and they are under opteration for the full switch, the Gay community is now their new target demographic for sales, confirmed. This hotel is going through a very expensive process of branding change and demographic change, its like a rebirth. Problem is, Blue has done this like 3 or 4 times in the last handfull of consecutive years. Dang yall, can you get something together so the folks don't loose our minds Espero algo bien Cheers! matt

I think there is an outside vendor fee, for sure likely to pay in most cases. Palace has a big "no outside vendors" policy, however out of the dozen of personal experiences with palace resorts the client has done a few things: Â 1. Purchase daypasses (most of the time, this works). Â 2. Purchase rooms (several times in Moon Palace). Â Good luck! mateo

I totally agree! We have preached from the start, know your photographer, know the style, know the customer service and set ALL EXPECTATIONS from the start, otherwise its a tough gamble. Â Whenever possible, we send FULL wedding slideshows to all of our inquiring brides showcasing folios of certain hotels and if possible, matching whichever photographer they are interested in so they can really visualize what is happening! Â Regardless, there going to be a NIGHT and day difference between hotel vs non hotel photo outfits. Generally, the hotel concession photographers do not use lots of lenses, they do not bring backup equipment (i'm only speaking about the hundreds of weddings i've witnessed these kinds of photographers working at" where they use one camera body and one lens. If their camera breaks, they have to run back to the photo shop to get a backup or replacement...doh! Missed moments. Â Good luck! cheers,

The biggest thing to consider here (and this directly affects pricing at times) is that MANY WC's actually may get a commission based on the vendor they are recommending and this can have an impact on the rates they are getting for certain products... Â I have heard from WC's (specifically our own wedding coord yazmin de lamora), that there are vendors who often supply more like "Wedding decor suggested" above in their post, so discounted rates are offered as well.
