  1. Hi Girls, I am ...ahem..."working" right now, but have somehow had a hard time concentrating. So instead I wrote a cheesy poem for our Coronas/OOT items that we'll have in the fridge for each guest: We are so glad that you’re here Sit back, relax, and have a cold beer. The sun is hot, and there’s love in the air You’re on vacation, so release every care. Enjoy the small treats and kick up your feets, As you step on the sand of the beautiful beach. Lose your watch and forget about time As you make your first toast with Corona and Lime. It has a border and our logo at the top, but if anyone wants to borrow the template, I've posted it. Yay Cabo! 2. I just got my white boards at Staples -- they are pre-framed and look awesome. Thanks for the idea!
  3. Oh my gosh can you believe how quickly time is passing?! We leave in 15 days. We still have a ton to do too... two more dress fittings decide on final bridal accessories buy blue HankyPankies that say i do (that will be my something blue) get something special for my mom and dad/MIL/FIL??? break in shoes figure out how much tip we should give each vendor/planner update website Welcome letter Just found out from resort that I'll need to do place cards at each seat as well as table cards, so I am doing those today Figure out programs (mom is working on those) print menus hair cut/highlighted wax buy a few more clothes (extra flip flops!) Try to figure out how to pack Call Virgin America about hanging my dress finalize playlists for DJ buy extra ribbon for centerpieces/OOT gifts I'm sure there's a ton more -- what am I missing? Thanks for posting your to-do list, June11bride, that helped me realize that I had more to do than I thought. Your list is very doable! Good luck! And wishing all of the early June brides a great wedding! Don't forget to come back and tell us how it went!
  4. Wlugrrl, It's always great to hear from another Cabo Azul bride! Congrats! It sounds like you are ahead of the game and you still have lots of time left -- that is awesome. How was the tasting? We have almost the same food choices as far as entrees go, but did you by chance try the Javier's salad? We were debating that and the Caesar... Great idea to have wine charms as favors. Very cute. Good luck with your planning!
  5. Everything looks amazing! Loved how you gave so many details -- I was on the Stella and Dot website for an hour! Thanks!
  6. I have a love/hate relationship with OOT bags. I really wish I could find a way to do 150 OOT bags. I really love the idea, and I really want to honor my guests that are coming, but how could I a) transport and afford 150 OOT bags?! However, we are getting creative! With 36 days to go, we've finally made some decisions! I did get $2.50 beach bags from Target for each family that is bringing kids. I've included: $1 beach balls $1 squirt guns (a little worried about these going through airport security) $0.30 bubbles sand toys pool dive rings (I think these came out to about 0.25 each) When we get to Cabo, we're making a big Costco trip. For each room (not person) we are getting: Coronas tied with ribbon limes (which are also part of our wedding theme) bottles of water small snacks picture share postcard (Vista print, free!) brochures/welcome letters Our big "splurge" was making personalized koozies for each guest ($200 for 150). If we can find them in Cabo, we'll also get really cheap bottle openers for each room. Our resort charges per bag to deliver to the rooms, so instead we are having family and wedding party members hand deliver them as each guest arrives. Hope this helps someone just starting out and stressing like I was!
  7. Love it! I have to tell you -- you are right about the floor length with the heat. I just went in for my first dress fitting and I was sweating inside with air conditioning just trying it on. I think DWs are the perfect venue for something a bit lighter, airier, and shorter! It looks amazing on you (and will look even better when it's fitted) and will be perfect with a fun pair of heels. Good luck!
  8. Those are great! I printed my logo onto round stickers, and then sealed the envelope with those. I was going to do ribbon too, but then the post office said it would be $1.20 instead of $.62. The stickers were perfect. When you do send them, don't forget that you can get the post office to "hand cancel" them for free (instead of running them through machines). That way they will come out perfectly through the mail. They'll roll their eyes at you because it's more work for them, but it is part of their service when requested.
  9. Thanks to proti007 for originally posting this!! Green Wedding Shoes featured a CAR wedding: http://greenweddingshoes.com/real-wedding-ellie-leslies-cabo-wedding/
  10. THANK YOU for sharing this! I am going to repost this in the Cabo Azul Brides! thread. There aren't that many resources/pics for Cabo Azul yet, so this is huge for CAR brides!
  11. Hi BandP2011, Wow, that's not how I understood the signature cocktails -- I haven't heard of an extra charge, but maybe they are counting them as part of our consumption bar? Weird that they need to know the exact number of cocktails. That's kind of like the wine -- they need to know how many bottles we need. If we order 20 and need 30, we're out of luck. And, if we order 20 and only use 15, we pay for 20. Georgina told me that wine is not part of the bar, but the way Bertha explained it made it seem like it was. We are talking to the manager about this. Anyway, she said there wouldn't be a problem with the dance floor. We could use the free one if we want, or people can just dance where they'd like. I'd love to see your photos! I will email you today. Thank you!!! By the way, once you're at 90 days, time begins to truly fly. We are already at 50! So exciting!
  12. Hi Girls!! I just wanted to check in since we are a little more than a month away!!! What does everyone still have to do? For me, it's: engrave the rings decide on BM and MoB/MoG gifts Finalize contents of OOT bags (might have to do this when we arrive because we have 130 guests) Confirm final flowers Decide play list for the DJ Confirm pic list with photographer Buy dresses for rehearsal dinner and possibly a short white reception dress (my dress came in and I was sweating in the shop just trying it on! It looks light and airy, but the corset makes it HOT...) Decide on shoes. Having such a hard time finding ones that I love!! Buy bracelet to complete bridal jewelry Gift for DH?? I'm sure there's more... How about you?
  13. Quick update: I ordered these (the Vistaprint postcards for our photo-sharing website; see above post) on 4/18 and chose the 21 day shipping. They got here today, 4/25, two weeks early! They turned out way better then I thought they would -- great quality and great color.
  14. I've slacked on posting here lately! How's everything coming along? After speaking to Georgina, we have made a few decisions. Hopefully it will all go well: Cocktail hour will be at El Patio between the beach and pool. I changed it from the fire pit because I didn't like the idea of the guests being able to see the reception area prior to the reception! I like the idea of having the two separate spaces. Plus, then we can do a margarita bar and set up our guitarist more easily in that open area Cake is decided -- instead of paying Jennifer Hatton a ridiculous amount to do a cake for 150 guests, we are replacing the dessert option with... cake! We'll cut a very small cake made by CAR right before everyone else is served their dessert/cake. I don't think anyone will notice that it's not technically "wedding cake". All flowers from the ceremony and cocktail will be moved to the reception area. Dance floor is no longer a problem! I'm going to ask about late-night s'more making at the fire pit... I am definitely still on top of my own vendors and will be confirming times with them. I don't want to leave anything to chance. Has anyone done a site visit? I am dying to see more photos of the resort!!! Good luck CAR brides!
  15. Great suggestions! Thank you for all of your comments and feedback. I love this site!
  16. Wow. I am blown away by all of your DIY projects -- you should do invitations professionally!! You have so many great details. Your guests will be so impressed! I agree... one of the best planning journals I've seen. GREAT job!
  17. So excited -- I had originally ordered my dress a size smaller back in November. It finally came in this week, and I was super nervous to try it on because although I've been eating really well and working out 3-6 times a week, I've only lost five pounds since January. I tried the dress on and it fit perfectly! I don't even need alterations except for the length! Hope this inspires some of you who, like me, have worked hard but feel like they haven't seen results. It does pay off, so stick with it! It is VERY true that it's how you fit in your clothes, not how much you weigh.
  18. Hi Ladies, I am so indecisive about centerpieces -- I need some help! Which do you like the best? They are all completely different. My colors are navy, emerald green, and white with a touch of pink. Table cloths will be either white or navy. ANY feedback is appreciated -- I need to decide soon because we are less than eight weeks away from our wedding! Thank you! #1 #2 #3 #4 #5
  19. I absolutely love this bouquet: But I will probably add some callas to it. Here are a few more of my inspiration pics:
