So the 20 people requirement is for the beach reception. I think restaurant is 40 ??? But they ended up letting her have it with 17 after a bit of "back and fourth"

Pastor York is the only English speaking Pastor. He is officiating my ceremony and I am thrilled. He is so nice and prompt to respond. He does English ceremonies. He sent my FI and I our ceremony right away for us to review and make changes if needed. He does a traditional wedding sermon with a message and sand ceremony. It was really good and we have yet to think of any changes to it. I would recommend him.

Just for fun... Here are what my bridesmaids dresses look like except they are black. I have a couple of friends who have large top areas that they like to flaunt, so I thought, not only will these look beachy, but they will keep everyone "in tact." The are going to have them shortened to right above the knee. Is it ok that my MOH is wearing the same as my maids? I only have 3 girls total.

Suggestions....Would there be a word other than "confirmation" use?

I think I will start my planning thread this weekend. I feel like I am all over the place right now so hopefully that will pull everything into perspective. I just placed my first Vista Print order woo hoo! I did the 21 day free shipping but hopefully it will come sooner. I made door hangers, welcome letters on oversized postcards, business cards with our name & date which I figure I will be creative with and use for luggage tags, key/tip holders, etc. Plus I got lots of freebies of course including "invitations" with envelopes which I made into a stationary card with my new name. Figured I will be writing lots of special little notes to people. I did the free car magnet with "just married" and other fun things! I know I will now be officially addicted like many of you.

Wedding nightmares are starting to increase. Last night I dreamed that my photographer totally showed up late and missed ALL the getting ready shots. He showed up as I was walking down the aisle! yikes! On the good side, I was in my actually wedding dress in the dream and it fit perfect and I felt really good and didn't even seemed to be bothered by the fact that the photog was late. I really hope I'm that easy going the day of the wedding.

I will talk to the FI and tomorrow and let you know. They are really cute. I would want it to say Punta Cana, Dominican Republic or Punta Cana, D.R. or something like that. I like the palm tree. "Paradise in Punta Cana" would be cute as well.... How long does it take them to come in, my wedding is in May.

There are several posts on here about girls going with Photo Souvenier off the resort for their TTD and have been pleased. They are highly recommended and I have hired them for my May wedding in Dominican. We are doing a TTD and we will probably try to stay at the resort and do the shoot if its not too crowded because I will probably be hungover that morning (morning after the wedding) and very tired. I get HIGHLY car sick so I don't think I will feel like getting in any car that morning (even if it is a short ride). Plus we may want some "jumping in the pool shots" I have to discuss with the FI. We got engaged in the DR last Summer and we LOVED it there which is why we wanted to get married on the beach there. We never felt scared, ever, and we didn't want to leave. We stayed at the Excellence which is pretty far out so we saw some "towns" and still didn't find anything to be unsafe. We have both traveled the world, so maybe that helped and I lived in NYC for several years, but I feel Dominican people are very nice and all should be fine.

I have hired DJ Mannia for my May wedding at The Grand Palladium. They fill up VERY fast so I would contact quickly. They have a page on here as they are a BDW vendor. They come highly recommended by all brides on here that have used them.

You are going to be a beautiful bride. Very pretty dress. My FI, not groomsmen have their attire either. He's totally dragging his feet and I try not to "nag" but I know he wants to look good and he just can't wait until the last minute.

She still hasn't sent me the menu (even though I guess I've pretty much gotten it from this site though not detailed), she hasn't answered me on how many other weddings there are on that day, I still don't have a "real" confirmation on if the beach party is confirmed...she states "reserve" but follows by it must be 20 people, so do I have it for that evening? I have told her over and over again that I want a private dinner...I don't mind the $1000 I just want confirmation so I can plan accordingly I think that is fair enough and other brides don't have an issue with this at there resorts...Notice that she is emphasizing the 40 people again for a private dinner which shouldn't be a problem for us, but what if you have 38? Not too be mean because I've heard she is wonderful once you get there, but I believe she has told everyone different things OR she is confused about what we are asking and she is giving us incorrect answers. She didn't mention anything about minimums for a beach party (which we have over 20 anyway) and I THINK she has reserved it....still unclear to me but I hope that she has because I already have a deposit for DJ Mannia down with dancefloor set up. Also, she told me that there can be no speeches or toasts at a "semi private" dinner and to have a "private" dinner you must have 40+ guests. They also will not budge on the "menu options" even after I was willing to pay more to have at least 2 entree options. Geez...for $1000 you would think you could get at least 2 entree options for guests especially at an "all inclusive." I will look through my emails and send you our conrespondance to see if it is the same thing she has mentioned to you guys. She STILL hasn't confirmed that we have a private dinner even though we have discussed it and I've told her I wanted a private dinner since we booked the resort.

I ordered pink heart bubble tubes from theknot and several of them were leaking when they arrived which made me really nervous about traveling with them. My mom cleaned the tubes up and poured all the liquid out. She is going to bring these down and bring a sealed bottle of bubble liquid down as well and fill them once we get there....just something to keep in mind.

That's very sweet. My FMIL has no clue what my dress even looks like. She is so sweet and I love her to death and she wants to be involved with things, but she is ALWAYS so busy!! Maybe I will invite her to come to my next fitting... Hopefully she can make it
