Sorry, I meant to put my MOH had NOT even put her deposit down. She hasn't paid a thing! My mom called to push the process along yesterday. Thank God for my mother who alleviates most of my stress!

Well, I found out yesterday that my MOH had even put her deposit down own her room which she said she did 5 months ago! Plus I'm stressed because everyone keeps waiting to book their flight thinking they are going to get it cheaper (HA!) and now the issue is not only the fact that the flights to Punta Cana, DR have nearly doubled, since it is such a small airport there aren't anymore flights available on the days most guests are arriving and leaving so ??? Stress city!!! To top it off, we had dinner with the FI's parent's last night and the FMIL informed me that I need to send another invite out to one of her friends who I have never met! My wedding is in May! really!?

Thanks for the input girls! I was leaning towards Hemingways so that's what I will go with. I am thinking cocktails around 6:00ish so people can mingle and then go to dinner. Most of my guest are coming in on Thursday (a few Friday) & we are getting married on Saturday, so I was thinking of doing the welcome cocktails on Thursday night and maybe meeting at the Royal lobby bar or something for drinks on Friday night because it is my mom's birthday.

Well, at least at see fuschia pink in these so that is what I am going to use for the beach ceremony. I wanted black sashes and table runners for the reception so I just ordered those. They were on sale and really cheap at http://www.tableclothsfactory.com/Default.asp?Redirected=Y and I figured I could use them again. My mom said she is going to make sure that I get everything I brought back since I've read that sometimes they will keep things. I can't decide if I want to do my "welcome drinks" at Hemingways or the Sports Bar (our group loves sports)....I don't know what the times are on the sports bar being open. Any thoughts? Doesn't the sports bar have an outside area as well?

Congrats Meggers on the BD shoot! That's awesome! Can't wait to see! I've decided that I am going to wait and do it for our 1 yr anniversary.

Well, plus, all of my guest which is 30 - 40 are booked in the Royal Suites Section with Honeymoon suites, Romance Suites, and Deluxe Swim ups, so that should account for something too. I really thinking it is not going to be an issue once we are there...fingers crossed.

I have my final dress fitting today, so I "hopefully" can bring it home with me! yay! I think my TTD may still need some work, but I may be able to bring it home today as well!

I also got my pink glow bracelets for the beach party ordered, as well as, my reception table runners & chair sashes.

I bought them at walmart, but they also have them at the dollar store. They are very inexpensive little photo books. I am going to post a thread once I have them complete.

Hi girls! Got a lot accomplished this past weekend! Worked on my passport welcome books, my first aide kits, my centerpieces, my bouts, and got all my bridesmaid luncheon stuff taken care of! Plus I got my table runners, sashes, and glow bracelets ordered woo hoo! Plus, I am going for my final dress fitting today, so hopefully I will be ablel to take it home. Now to finish my luggage tags, menu cards, programs, groom/groomsmen attire, parent gifts, oot bags, koozies, veil and the list goes on....

Here's the funny thing, they are not real touch. I got them at Hobby Lobby in the wedding section and I think they are plastic but soft. They were only $0.99 so the whole thing cost me under $2 where the resort was going to charge me something like $10. I get 2 real ones included in my package so the FI may wear a real one, but I don't trust these boys not the be rough with them and flowers are fragile, so I figured these are a safe backup as well. It was fun making them. I have always wanted callas incorporated in my wedding but wasn't sure if this would be an option once I got down there, so I figured for 99 cents it was worth getting.

This past weekend was very productive for me finally! My FI was out of town so mom and I were able to work on alot. I decided on centerpieces, got my welcome books and first aide kits started, got my bouts made, and got all of my stuff for my bridesmaid luncheon taken care of. Yay!

You are so lucky. When I have tried to call Carolina she has been unavailable. I wish I had a TA handling it for me Especially one that speaks Spanish.

Trust me, I am not worried about my photog (PhotoSouvenier), DJ (DJ Mannia), or Pastor (Pastor York)...I am just concerned with the reception mainly. I also want a cocktail reception, which has also NOT been confirmed. I can't get Carolina to write the word "confirmed" at all. Yes, I am dealing with her directly. Their policy when I booked and all documentation I have says 20 guests plus for private beach party and private dinner, however, now she is telling everyone it is all of a sudden 40. Just make sure your beach party IS 'confirmed" for sure since you have under 40 guests.

Teira - Love you table decor. Where did you get your pink frames from? Are they heavy? I found some like that but they were heavy.

What are the colors for the beach towels. Do you have any pics you can post? I might be interested in the key card holders, the wrist whistles, and the aloe.

Suzie - Welcome and congrats! I have read some wonderful things about the weddings at the Grand Palladium which is why I chose the resort and I am very excited about my wedding. With a party of your size you shouldn't have any issues, but just be prepared for Carolina to give you conflicting information and you don't confirm anything until you arrive. I plan to write a VERY throurough review with beneficial pictures when I return which will give you plenty of time for your wedding to prepare. My wedding is in May so I will be happy to answers all of your questions that I can.

Well Roxy & Richarsd, my overall planning is moving right along, but you know my feelings and frustrations with getting no answers from Carolina regarding confirming anything! If we don't have 40 guests, we will be really close, and I will be THE BIGGEST Bridezilla if I don't get a private recpetion. I have spent a lot of time on my centerpieces and decor for the reception and I want it to be intimate and private. I alread have the DJ hired for the "private" beach party which I hired back around August when the policy was 20+ guests. I already have a deposit down and I am not giving up the beach party! AND I've yet to see updated documentation with this new policy she is coming up with on the 40 guest rule. Also, she hasn't responded to an email I sent her about 2 wks ago asking about the size of the dinner tables so I can make sure my table runners are appropriate, and whether or not we are able to use vases from the resort as I didn't want to travel with glass. Sooooo frustrating. Also, I want to "upgrade" my beach set up for the ceremony to the picture that looks like a chuppah but since the only picture I've seen is a "stock" photos with the models that is used for all resorts, I don't know what a "real" wedding using this upgrade looks like. I am planning on bringing some of my own fabric for this, but again, little to know information is provided. I haven't seen pictures from any past brides who have used this upgrade. She still want send me a menu so I can print my menu cards with the "formal" descriptions versus just "beef medallions." I know there has to be a vegetable or something served with it. Vistaprint is having a great sale right now and I got some good freebie offers in my email & it is frustrating that I can get these completed! ugh! Which also means that I haven't been able to get my wedding day outline completed for my welcome booked since nothing is really confirmed. I am a VERY detail oriented person who has planned many events and I have never had this experience where I couldn't confirm anything or get answers. It is stressing me out! I have also asked her over a month ago how many other weddings are on the same day as mine (mine being in May, she should probably have a good idea), and I haven't gotten an answer on that either. I figured if I at least knew that information, it will ease my mine on how flexible the planning would be as far as the beach party, private restaurant, etc. if I'm not competing with a bunch of other brides for the spots. Anyway, other than the unresponsive resort, I have accomplished a lot on my list and I am very excited!

I am kind of nervous about leaving the resort for the TTD, but this seems to be the best option. Do you have a link to your photos? I will be using them in May.
