  1. Yep, I guessed too on the number of people. I, too, didn't want to be stuck a month out and scrambling to get things done. I've made extra of somethings, and others I may have to top up, but at least the majority of the work will be done! I never dreamed how much work a destination wedding would be, but I really want to make it my own. My dining room table has looked like a bomb went off for months, so I'm looking forward to getting back to normalcy!
  2. Fi loved this idea too when he saw it in the Hangover 2. I wanted to do something fun for the guests, and I think this would be great, and much less $$ than hiring entertainment.
  3. This is my dress too! Funny, I wanted a button back, but I loved everything else about it. Plus, I think the lace up will be more forgiving!
  4. Yep it's true! I never pay full price at Michael's anymore. This past week they did have 40% off all items (including sale).
  5. I think yours look great! Hers are obviously different flowers, and they are grouped closer together, which gives it more of a "bouquet" feel. What do yours look like lit up? I wonder if Martha's are vellum so the light shows through nicely?
  6. If anyone sees any recent deals in Canada, please lemme know! I really don't want to pay $5 each.
  7. I know! I just saw it the other day by accident. It's over by Ashley furniture and some other furniture store. It's a pretty good one too!
  8. Hey ladies - I went to the Deerfoot Meadows location and - success!! Thanks so much!
  9. I have no idea what to get my BM's. They all have pretty different tastes. I'm thinking maybe a monogramed robe and simple earrings, but I like the horseback excursion idea too! I wish I had an unlimited budget!
  10. I thought it was $100?!?! I was never told this by her, but I thought it was listed somewhere in this thread. $300 is ridiculous!! I might as well just pay for the photographer to stay overnight - it'll probably be cheaper!!
  11. Glad you all liked it. I thought it really captures "true love".
  12. Thanks ladies. Funny, I went to Dollarama this morning (before I saw this post) looking for them and they didn't have them!! I will have to try a different location I guess.
  13. Does anyone know if they allow synthetic rose petals, or if you have to use real ones for the isle runners?
  14. We have exactly 25 right now, but we're expecting about 35. MrsAlmaquer - $300??? I had heard $100. We are also having an outside photographer. Dear god I hope it's not $300 - that's RIDICULOUS!
  15. I would just tell him what you're telling us. It's your first dance song as a couple (not just his), it should be a song you both love and feel comfortable with!
  16. Does anyone know a good place to get travel-sized Advil in Canada? Walmart has them for $3 each, but I don't really want to spend $60 on travel Advil if I can avoid it. Thanks in advance!
  17. Cupcake you're daughter is ADORABLE!! LOVE the outfit!
  18. I didn't know where to post this. I came across it on a wedding blog, and had to share this amazing, sweet couples story, told in their own voice. Be forewarned, if you're a softy like me, you will likely be in tears by the end!! Watch the video here: http://vimeo.com/12562270
  19. It is a lot, but we figure our entire wedding will cost about $10,000. That's probably what it would have cost us to get married here (at least), but this way we're also getting a 2 week vacation out of it. All the "nickel and diming" at an all-inclusive is hard to swallow though. I am bringing tons of decor, and giving a bit to everyone to bring down to lighten the load we have.
  20. I'm getting married the day before you! Are you doing a wedding package? Our package includes 25 ppl, private reception on the Mexican Terrace. As far as I know, we only have to pay extra for any one over 25 people. She hasn't mentioned anything to me about drinks, so I'm assuming it's included. We are also skipping the DJ and using the bridesmaids bouquets as centrepieces to save costs.
  21. Price - and what they charge for extras (some places charge for EVERYTHING) How many weddings do they do per day? Some places pump them out. I chose a resort that doesn't do more than one each day.
  22. I just copy and pasted most of these ceremonies to use for ideas - 158 pages!! lol. I've got some work ahead of me! Thanks to all the brides for posting!
  23. Does anyone know what the setup is like for the head table? Veronica told me we will have round tables of 8, but is it different for the head table? I've seen a photo (can't remember where I saw it) where they had a sweetheart table for the bride and groom on the Mexican terrace, facing the fountain but the bride and groom had their backs to their guests. I'm trying to figure this out so I can start on escort cards.
