Lisa, your brochure and travel items look great! I have borrowed so many ideas from so many different brides on this site -I love it. When my party had to move suddenly from another resort about a month and a half ago, we all got pricing ranging from $99 - $170 per person (without airfare), per night based on what room category they chose. we used bookit.com but I just looked it up and the rates are higher now. I think that the rates are somewhat higher now because people like to get out of town during the winter. I found that the cheapest rates were over the summer regardless of what date you were actually booking. I don't know when you wedding date is so not sure if this helps you at all.

Question to anyone who has already stayed at Now Jade; how late does the Blue Bar stay open each day/night?

Michelle, thanks for the review. I am so glad that so many of the recent brides on this thread post such detailed reviews. It really helps to hear how wonderful everything turns out. Two questions for you; I am familiar with the pouring of the sand but what else does a "sand ceremony" entail? and my second question is about the two walls of windows in the bamboo room. I was thinking of hanging beaded curtains but I am not sure how many windows there are or how tall the windows are...can you estimate for me?

I know that there is a kid's menu offered for children under 12 -I don't know what they offer in terms of food options but I think that it was $20-$25 per child. Regarding different menu options; I am doing the Divine sit-down dinner. I am choosing the same 1st and 2nd course for everyone and Pilar is allowing me offer all three of the dinner options to my guests. the only catch is that I have to confirm what entree each person wants prior to the reception. Although.... this is not that different from traditional weddings -you could add the option of entrees to your wedding invitations. Or depending on how many people you have, you could do one of the 6 different buffets offered. I believe that one of the recent brides did this and was able to mix and match a few items within the buffet menu so that she liked everything on it. Hope this helps

Hanna, thanks for forwarding the wedding packet. I have some parts of the packet that Pilar forwarded to me but some if it is new to me. I had not seen the flowers or the cakes and I have not received the Now Planning Form yet. I should receive that soon though as I am still working out the exact details of times and locations for the wedding with Pilar.

Question to the brides who have (or are planning on using) the resort photographer and DJ -did you pay for a dinner for them? Also, can someone send me the wedding packet that I heard about? Can anyone tell me how many windows line each of the two walls of the bamboo room? About how tall is each window? Are there sliding glass doors on one of the walls to access the patio? How many doors were there?

Hi Ladies, I am trying to decide between the Bamboo room and Castaways for my reception location. I feel like I have more of an oportunity to personalize Castaways than I do the Bamboo room. Carly, how many people were in your party? I was told that I should have 80-100 people if I wanted that room but I didn't think that you had that many. Tracy, I am having a hard time visualizing the bamboo room. From what I have gathered, there are two walls of windows overlooking the courtyard and the ocean. the other two walls are lined with the bamboo and lights. Is the room set up as a basic square? Are there bathrooms located within the room? Where did you have the DJ set up? Thanks, Meg

snl2011 -thanks for the managers contact info. I ended up sending the email to Pilar last night. I have yet to hear back from her so if I don't hear soon, I will contact the manager directly. I am ;upset because I don't want to have to use 2nd best locations. this is my wedding! I have had so many problems with the overall planning of this wedding; from travel agents, pressure from family, the first resort blowing up, FML threatening to not come, and now this. Is someone or something trying to tell me something here??? sorry fro being a drama queen about this. I know that it is not the end of the world but I just needed to vent I guess. In the email to Pilar, I expressed my disappointment over the situation and inquired when the other bride's ceremony, cocktail hr and reception are so that maybe we can work with the times. I am not as worried about the reception location because there seems to be a few good options out there, but I definitely want to use the pergola and the blue beach bar. hopefully we can work out the times so that I can use the same locations earlier or later than the other bride. I would love to hear other bride's drama so I know that I am not the only one feeling this way...

Alright brides, I need some help. I just got an email from Pilar saying that another bride is already booked on my date and has the locations that I want!!!! I was previously booked at the resort that had the explosion and had to move my whole group to Now Jade. Pilar had originally told me that my date was open so instead of Now Sapphire (that had the date open also), I went with Now Jade because I liked the updated feel. Now she is telling me that I cannot have the locations that I want or I can change the date. I cannot change the date do to the days that people are coming and going and not to mention the fact that I already sent out invites and have custom travel bags and mugs with the date on them! I know I saw somewhere that someone posted the sales manager's email address. Does anyone have that address of know where it was mentioned? Please help Meg

good idea -my dad has one of those Bose Ipod docking stations too. This may be a silly question but does Mexico have the same outlets as us? or would we need a converter? Excellent contribution by your Dad!

Lisa, great idea to use your own music. I was planning on using my own song for the ceremony but really hadn't thought about the cocktail party...I guess I could use my own music during the dinner part of the reception too and then I would really only have to use the DJ for 2 hrs that comes with the package. Are you bringing your own Ipod speakers or are you renting their sound system for $150? I wonder how big the sound system is and if it could be moved from cocktail hour to the reception without a big hassle. hmmmm....another questions to Pilar I think.

Sorry, I'm Meg. yeah I had some last minute switching around to do. I was originally booked with my party at the resort that blew up from swamp gases. So I have had quite a time trying to find a different resort within the area because we had already booked our flights and that had my wedding date available. I remembered that I had looked at this resort when I was deciding over the summer so I checked it out again and really liked both resort options. I found good pricing on bookit.com and we all switched to Now Jade. Ironically, I feel more comfortable with my choice of resort this time around and I am sure that we will all have fantastic weddings!

I have Pilar for my WC and since I recently switched resort locations, I have not had too many email correspondence yet. However, I have already noticed that she responds the same day if I list out all my questions and group them all together (about 5-10 questions at a time). The few times that I have emailed only one question at a time, I am still waiting on those answers. I am only 8 weeks away from getting married there and only just started planning. Thanks to everyone who has posted information about the various policies, dinner locations and the pictures. Everything has been so helpful to me and I have already decided to switch to the buffet and am now considering the Bamboo room after seeing Tracy's pictures and hearing such positive things about the room. by the way Tracy, I got Pilar to get me the buffet menu and there was a few pictures of your setup as advertisement. Looked great! Is anybody planning on using the resort photographer for the pics? I hear that a lot of you are using Ivan Luckie as your photographer. What is the pricing like?
