Hello! It seems like it has been some time since anyone has posted on here but I thought I would say hi. I was previously booked to have my wedding in Mexico but due to some family concerns about traveling there we decided to move it to Aruba! It was very stressful to organize everything all over again in a new location but I am confident everyone will love it there. I am getting married at the Manchebo on June 11, 2011. I have been to Aruba once for a wedding and I loved it. It truly is a beautiful island and you definitely feel safe going out and about there. My wedding planner/coordinator is Lissy Lampe who comes highly recommended by 2 of my friends who have used here there. So far she has been excellent with communication and being very specific about what everything. I think we may stay at the Hyatt for a few nights, but not sure if we will be moving to another hotel/resort from there. I also want to try to stay at the Bucuti or Manchebo the night before the wedding so that it is easy for me to get ready from there and then walk down when it is time for the ceremony. I am so excited and can't wait to get some inspiration from this board! Marisa

So my Dad called me and is now saying that he does not feel comfortable going to Mexico. I am freaking out. I have deposits paid, guests have paid deposits. I honestly don't understand. I realize that their has been some violence in the news about Mexico but we all know it was not in these areas, it is a lot more dangerous near the U.S. borders if anything! This terrible explosion is just making people freak out more even though it was a freak accident. I am really stressed and have no idea what to do

Well it looks like tons of my friends and family are really freaking out over this explosion. I have no idea what to do. I'm starting to get really nervous that people are not going to come because of all the bad press and stuff going on.... My mom is trying to get me to move everything to somewhere else.... Jess- YAY!! So glad you had an amazing wedding!!! Can not wait to see your pics!!! All of us were thinking of you on Friday

Ladies, I have a dress but I bought it when I thought I was going to be having a wedding here in MA. Now that I am not, I just am not sure if I love it for Mexico... Soooo..tomorrow I am trying on a dress that I found online at a bridal store near my house. Here is a link to it: http://www.bridepower.com/Liv-Harris/Aline/4612/gd.aspx I really love the one shoulder look and hope it looks good on me!! Unfortunately, if I love it then I can not buy it right away because I definitely need to sell my dress first We'll see how it goes!!

Hi Maritza! Yay another June bride! I had very similiar Save The Dates made too! I"ll have to post a pic so you can see. Very cute I had my bridesmaids buy dresses from J.Crew. They have a bridal line. When I found the dresses I wanted them to buy they were on sale so they got them for like $150 which I thought was pretty reasonable since they are really nice quality and don't neccessarily look like a bridesmaid dress. Unfortunately they were discontinuing the color I wanted so they all basically had to buy them right then. I felt really bad asking them to buy them right away and so far in advance ( our date is June 12) but at least they got it out of the way haha. I would take a look on there or I know David's Bridal has some very reasonably priced dresses too. Happy Planning

Msglave - Would you mind adding me to the list? I would do it myself but not sure how to go about that....My date is June 12, 2011. Thanks!! New ladies, please feel free to quote and add yourselves! After the wedding we are moving to Cozumel for a few nights, then heading back to the Royal after everyone is gone to finish out our honeymoon there!! I wish we could have traveled to different island/country after but this will be a lot easier for us. We will probably do a trip to somewhere else when our anniversary comes up

I hear ya Lisa...we have 3 dogs and are fostering another one right now ( we are super dog lovers) so we think we will probably have someone who can't make it to the wedding house sit for us...even though we feel so bad for the person taking care of 3 dogs!! We have a few friends who do it for us often so I am sure one of them should be able to. If not then I guess we can find a service to doggy sit. I highly doubt we can afford to board 3 dogs!

Jess - You look GORGEOUS!! OMG your pics are seriously stunning!! You look like you should be in a Maxim magazine!! Damn girl...I need to work out hardcore before I do this for my fiance!! Lisa - I am so sorry to hear about your hives Try to drink some tea and relax and just trust that everything will be amazing and wonderful! You are so close to your wedding day and once you get down there hopefully all this stress will just melt away! I bought an eliptical for my house online off of craigslist actually. A guy was selling one for a great price and to me it was way more affordable than buying a new one. I don't use it as much as I should but I plan on working out HARD before the big day!!

Runningbride/Nikki - What was the open bar/liquor situation like for the Luxury package wedding? Is it in fact open bar? I can not believe I never asked my WC or anyone about this, I just assumed that since it was an AI resort that all the liquor would be included for the wedding. Did they have any specialty cocktails or just an open bar?

Lisa - I was just looking at your wedding page ( so cute btw!!) and I realized that we are moving onto Cozumel also!! Where are you guys staying when you go there? We are actually staying at this tiny little hotel that I found on TripAdvisor. It is like the exact opposite of the Royal, but I think it will be super romantic and I am excited!

I would prefer to just do flower petals as well, but I am worried that walking in heels, it may be easier to walk down the runner..? I might be way off in that assumption, I just thought that when I looked at the pictures of the walk way it looked kinda cobble stone like..? Either way, I am with you Lisa...I am not really into the red. I know they have different color runners because the pictures I saw of the beach set up for a ceremony they have different colored runners there....I think I might either bring my own or ask for a different color.

Ooo I love both of those!! I really love the 2nd one! I think both are super pretty...depends on if you want to go for a more glamorous look ( the Brianna one) or a more romantic, destination look ( the 2nd). I have not tried on any Maggie dresses, but I hear they are a really great fit. Honestly they are both beautiful dresses and it depends on which you think fits your style best. I am really lovin the 2nd one though!
