  1. Gorgeous detail! DO you mind me asking what it'll run you to have a dress like that made? I haven't considered having one made but maybe it's the way to go. This is my favorite so far (a fellow BDW bride):
  2. Can't wait to explore and keep up with this thread. I'll share any ideas/deals I come across!
  3. A couple hotel-related questions for the recent brides: * Did you end up going to the Teen Club any of the nights you were there? Is there dancing and a DJ like they say? * Is there poolside food/beverage service? * What pool had the most space to hang out at/best swim up bar? I'm just trying to envision where everyone can meet... * Room service...can you order alcohol to your room? * One more alcohol related question (sorry!!) - was there Grey Goose? I still have NOT received an actual answer. Claudia said there was when we were there on our site but Angie was never able to confirm. I'll stop bragging about it if it's not available. Thanks guys!
  4. Fair question! For me, I had done months of research on this site before ever choosing the resort and I had read a lot of good reviews about Doremixx at other properties. Then, when I read a horrible review about the DJ provided by Azul Sensatori, I was scared into requesting a quote from Doremixx. Even with the $500 fee, I'm saving something like $200 so it was worth it to me. The communication I've received has been professional, thorough and quick which makes me more comfortable, even though in a perfect world, I would have sat down with and interviewed multiple vendors before choosing. And don't be overwhelmed by this site if you can help it...I was when I started and I'm an event planner (almost 7 years at my job)! What has worked for me (and I'm still technically in the beginning stages) is doing not more than 2 or 3 things at a time. First it was about the location/date/time/photographer. Once I had gotten those elements confirmed, we moved onto website/save the dates/colors/theme...and we're almost done with that stage. Next I'll focus on scheduling showers/bachelorette/dress shopping...it's kept everything from becoming overwhelming and in all honesty, it's kept things FUN. Since this process is taking a year of my life and will only last a weekend, I better have FUN with it. Sorry that I've rambled on, blame the wine I had tonight! Mine and my FI's families had dinner together tonight which is always a good time! Everyone is in a food coma and I'm on this site, ha! 5. I just came across this thread , can't wait to read through and get some good money-saving ideas! Thanks!
  6. Awesome pictures! I love your dress and your shoes are PERFECT. It looks like a gorgeous wedding. Congrats!!!!
  7. I'll definitely let you know what Erika says about the fireworks. I'm signing Doremixx's contract today. Good luck with your new coordinator (and DW agent. I have Gayle and she's been great so far - she's who pushed to get me a new coordinator I think)
  8. bryteyedbride - I haven't ordered the dancefloor even though it looks awesome. It wouldn't be big enough for our group (80ish expected) so we decided to skip it for now. I REALLY REALLY wish they'd allow the cold fireworks. I asked my new coordinator again just in case she gives me a different answer. Do we know if Angie left?? I sort of told my DW.com TA that she wasn't getting back to me about things but I was actually pretty nice about it!? TLGnhci - oh good! Glad you like Erika so far!
  9. Happy Update: I got a new wedding coordinator (Erika in for Angie) and she approved Doremixx as a vendor. Whoo hooo!
  10. Congrats, Natasha! I'm glad to hear it was amazing and I bet it was hard to come home! Enjoy being newlyweds
  11. Thank you! Do you have the hi res version of this one? Do you mind if I try to use it? Quote: Originally Posted by JaimeCF2BR Check out my album and let me know if you like any of them. I can then email you the hi-res version.
  12. Help! Does anyone have a really pretty HI RES picture of the resort pool and beach that I could use in our invitation booklet? It's being held up in production because every picture I've found isn't "big" enough and the pictures I took on my site visit aren't the best b/c the weather was so-so. My email is [email protected]. I'm going to email my WC too but I have a feeling that you guys might be quicker .THANK YOU!
  13. I was told yesterday they weren't allowed and was VERY disappointed. This is one of the few things I really wanted at the reception. Does anyone know if they allow hand held sparklers at least? Of course my WC isn't getting back to me on it.
  14. I have Angie. She's super nice on the phone but even MORE selective when it comes to the responses. She replies to 1 of 4 emails I send She also just told me Doremixx is not allowed at the resort but I've seen numerous brides on here who have booked him/them. I'm going to fight it!
  15. LOVE your dress, it looks gorgeous already, I can't imagine how awesome it'll look once you get it custom fitted !
  16. Are you KIDDING ME!???!!? I wanted to get an outside DJ. Good thing I already negotiated my outside photographer! It's ridiculous. UGH.
  17. Yep, I'm working with a travel agent (haven't mentioned the welcome party to her though). I like the idea of doing it on the beach too...hmm...$12 per person isn't bad. Ok, I'm gonna consider that...I just really wonder if they'd let me set up for a slide show in a "public place" if we're not paying per head to be there.
