  1. Denee, I chose Monica Bridal because they were easy to contact and actually responded. I sent a request to gianinar over two months ago and still haven't heard anything. They were very willing to make my requested changes, are sending pre shipping pictures, and are including a veil.
  2. She is working on samples. I just thought you might remember.
  3. How much was your shipping and customs fees? I might have them delivered to the US if it's a big difference.
  4. Teira - yes, I keep checking here and also on other websites, but no luck. Brandy - Those are so cute.
  5. I am really trying to find inexpensive real touch bouquets as well. I just can't rationalize some of the prices people are charging. My whole bridal party might end up getting very simple bouquets so that I can DIY and save a couple hundred dollars. I requested a quote from watermenot.com and she's going to make some sample bouquets. We'll see how her pricing is relative to DIY. The seashells with the orchids look beautiful. And it prob wouldn't be too hard to make the seashell bout yourself.
  6. terilina - congrats on finding your design! I think it is the difference in the fabric and seeing it on the mannequin. So many dresses look completely different once they are on your body. I think it will look amazing as long as you have the right proportions for the dress. I would definitely take the advice of prettypigpig and get your measurements done by a professional. With a dress like that, you want to ensure a perfect fit!
  7. QScibberas, I got in touch with Kelly @ watermenot. She is going to create some samples for me. She was really quick to reply which I appreciate.
  8. lil_miss_frogg - so sorry to hear that. I wish you all the happiness that you dream and wish.
  9. You guys are amazing! My MOH and FMIL are both trying to lose a bunch of weight but I keep telling them we can't wait too long to order dresses. I figure if they haven't even started yet, they probably can't expect anything dramatic before the wedding. As for me it's not losing it's redistributing! Damn deck job is making all my curves head south to my hips and thighs. Good luck to everyone! I also tried to convince everyone that it was okay to look bad now because then when we look at the pictures in 25 years we won't be sad about how we used to look, we'll be proud and amazed at how we look then.
  10. skp1 - I'm away from home for work and my FI is coming to visit me this weekend. He has no idea that most of the weekend will be making wedding decisions. I even want to go do our registry and neither of us live anywhere near here! I've also been trying DIY monograms and can't decide. I like your last one the best.
  11. QSciberras - Your flowers are beautiful, how much did they cost?
  12. My guess would be that if you lose (or gain) so much weight that the dress requires extensive alterations, you would be one the hook for that. And if the dress cannot be altered you would be responsible for paying for a new dress. What would be the sense of measurements if you could just reorder all the time? And you might not be able to get the dress you want in the remaining time. My BF bought her dress off the rack and had to postpone her wedding. When it came time for the new wedding date, she had gained so much weight that the dress had to have a corset added to fit her properly. She also had a girl in her wedding party that went from a size 2 when we ordered to being 9 months pregnant. Thankfully, she was able to get her original dress altered to fit. I guess it all depends on how talented and determined your seamstress is?
  13. Bree - it looks gorgeous. I think it looks even prettier without the straps. Can we see a preview of your actual dress? I'm so glad that everyone has been getting their dresses delivered. I just wish it wasn't so long before someone else gets their dress.
  14. Alisa, I've been working on our monogram too, and trying to get input from the FI. Same thing, "you decide, you know what looks good." But sometimes it's easier if they tell you what they want.
  15. Sebita - The original looks gorgeous on you, and the replica looks like a really good copy. The only I would ask is that it be more gathered across the lower midsection, towards the flowers. Bree - I ordered from Monica Bridal, I just want to be able to see the corset detail, I don't want it to be bunched up. Hopefully, I will get to see pictures shortly. It's been a week since I ordered and one of the dresses had a turnaround time of 7 days.
  16. That is definitely a gorgeous dress, especially on you. I love the bow! I like your idea about different coloured BM dresses. I think it will look fab in pics.
  17. You have me worried now. I ordered a corset just so that I would have the extra room to tighten the dress if necessary. I did my own measurements and really hope they make the dress a little smaller.
  18. Those flip flop jewels are super cute and cheap too. They would look so sweet.
  19. I've also been shopping around without too much luck. I really want to avoid spending over $100 on my bouquet plus all the other flowers. It's just not in the budget to spend $400 - $500.
  20. It is a really pretty dress. I like how they did all the details. Did you send in your own measurements? I think if it was altered more to your size it would be better. But I think it looks a lot better than some Maggie originals. Good luck! Btw... I asked if Monica Bridal would send pictures before shipping and they agreed!
  21. If anyone is sharing an order with Murmel you might want to check out the website she is using... they have "Just Married" flip flops for $7.50! And tons of other cute stuff for great prices.
  22. Lisadias, Sorry to hear about your loss. We will wait patiently for your safe return and hopefully your amazing pictures.
  23. You can buy clear labels at any office supply sotre, and probably even Walmart. All you have to do is use the templates in MS word and then print it out on your printer. You don't need any special ink or anything. If the bags are fabric, you might even consider buying iron on transfer paper. Same thing, you just use your computer to design a label and print it out with a regular printer.
