    #1 is very goddess like. I'm going to suggest ordering a TTD from dhgate.com that is similar to your original wedding gown. That way you can have a similar dress in all your pictures and don't have to worry about trashing the original.

    Okay girls, I haven't even received my first dress yet and am already tempted to order a second dress for the reception. Based on the picture any advice on who to order from? I ordered my ceremony dress from Monica Bridal.

    They look fabulous.I'm working on ours a little at a time and will definitely be tired of trimming and folding by the end.

    Zelda - I like the centerpieces, those are our colors too. Do you think the candles will last all night though?

    Michaels has their shadow boxes on sale this week. Here's a good chance to pick one up. I bought a pack of three for $14.99. Not sure what I'm going to do about adding our picture to it.

    Ellabaja - I'm so glad to hear it's working out for you. It sounds like you're having a tough year and deserve to put you and your FI's wedding as a priority. It is so exciting knowing how quickly all our wedding days are approaching. The more we plan and get settled the more exciting it all becomes. For me it's almost worth being away from home and working so much overtime so that we can have our dream wedding paid for months in advance.

    I actually got my FI to go to Latin ballroom last year, long before we were engaged. I told him it was something fun we could do together that was active and indoors. I hate the cold so I wouldn't do anything outdoors. At first he was reluctant, but after realizing it was fun and a workout he enjoyed going. I know we could use a refresher now, so maybe I'll have to contact our instructor again. We did it through the city recreation center so it was only $60 each for 10 weeks. That was the other thing that persuaded him to go, it was cheap.

    How did the stapling go? Mine looked lined up and properly trimmed until I go to fasten them together. All of a sudden nothing lines up. Any hints?

    Kyndall - they never asked for additional deposits. Are you using an independant TA? Maybe if you contact Palace resorts directly they will allow you to book. Jenn - it takes a little time. It's not instantaneous. Soon enough you'll be able to open attachments.

    Anabrina, so sorry to hear about all the awful experiences. I sometimes doubt their capabilities too when it takes days to return a phone call or email. Especially when you are trying to book rooms and make payments. I really hope your guests chose to book through another route and still attend your celebration. Best of luck!

    I did the custom dress because I couldn't find anything that I liked and figured that for the price I could take my chances. If I need any other alterations, I will bring my dress to the bridal shop I visited last night. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that I like the real thing.

    My custom dress was released from Vancouver customs a couple days ago so it should arrive at my house any day. I won't be able to see until I go home for a visit in a couple of weeks though. I'll make my final decision once I try it on, but it certainly helped to have an unbiased opinion. Especially since she knew how much I was willing to spend and told me not to buy another dress even if it was from her.

    We are probably only having about 35 guests as well. But you only need to have 15 room nights booked through a group/wedding contract to qualify for a free private cocktail hour so just with our room and my parents room we already qualify. I don't think it would be any problem and might actually be fun for your whole group to just take over one of the many bar areas.

    Thanks Lua - I am working in Regina right now. So most of my wedding planning and discussion is being done over the internet. Poor FI. I had a really good experience shopping last night. The bridal shop manager was fabulous and really helped a lot. I didn't find a dress, but showed her the dress I had made and she told me to stop worrying because I would love that one.

    Thanks Brandy and Lua - It's very frustrating. Especially since I am away from home and don't have anyone to go shopping with me I went a few times before I left home, but didn't have much luck there either. Most of the dresses I have tried on would have one thing I liked about them but that's all. That's why I decided to have the custom made one just in case.

    Kyndall and Blue&Starfish Bride, All I did was tell my contact in Miami that I wanted to reserve private functions and she had the Cancun WC send me an email. I then requested the sites from her. I'm glad I did it since my first choice is already taken. Kyndall - what is your date?

    Brandy - I've been to about 10 different dress shops. I can't find anything that makes me feel excited about getting married, so I keep looking. I ordered a custom dress from China, but I haven't seen it so I don't know if it will be the dress. I figure it will be good for the reception or even TTD. But I am still looking for a special "wow" dress for the ceremony. Tonight, I am going to a dress shop that agreed to stay open late just for me, so hopefully....

    Skadow - I'll probably invite everyone to everything but I've already decided that everything except the wedding day will be tagged as optional. Almost like a "Here's where we'll be if you care to join." I don't want our guests to feel like I am planning their vacation, but I also want to do some special things so that the celebration is more than just one day.
