  1. I think even if you've been living together or had your own homes, there is always things you need. For example, it's always nice to have new towels and bedding. It's also a good opportunity to select fine china and glassware. Plus, double check if it's time for a new coffee maker or toaster. You don't even have to register for expensive items, there's always new kitchen gadgets. And yes, Lua, you can register for a new tv or dishwasher, and gift cards. Just walk around the store and I'm sure you'll find things to add.
  2. That's for translating from Spanish to English, which I don't think is necessary. I'm asking about our English birth certificates to Spanish.
  3. Thanks everyone! I got about half done yesterday, and then my hole punch broke! So back to Michaels for a a replacement tonight. I'll post some new pictures tonight.
  4. Does anyone know what MP charges for translating documents? Or is it included in the civil ceremony fee? I know that the civil fee covers blood tests and the minister, but what other costs should we anticipate?j
  5. Michele your flowers turned out beautiful. Our photographer had her destination flowers done by enchanting memories and they looked great both in pictures and person.
  6. Because I had a horrible time finding a dress I liked in the bridal shops, I ordered a custom made dress from China that is based on a picture I sent. I'll get to see it and try it on for the first time this weekend. I figure for the cost, it will definitely be worth it. I'll let you know how it turned out. We're registering this weekend. I'll be having at least one shower so I want people to have an idea of what we need. If we weren't having a shower I probably wouldn't register.
  7. I'm just glad that I was able to print them at work so I didn't have to pay for the ink. All I had to do was buy the paper and design the inside. I started with one of the templates but ended up only using one page from the template and did the rest on our own.
  8. Hi ladies, I would really appreciate your input on what you think of my DIY passport invites. These are just a mock-up. The actual invites will be printed on tiffany blue metallic card stock and not at all smudgy and smeared.
  9. The extra costs that I know of are: $300 for the blood work and about $25 each for us to obtain our birth certificates. I don't know how much, if anything, we have to pay to translate our birth certificates. If we do, I estimates that would probably be another $100?
  10. I'm starting to think we should just do the symbolic there and the legal here after we return. I'm not sure how my FI will react if I suggest it though. Any advice? I'm also worried about all the extra costs that might be involved with the legal ceremony in Mexico.
