  1. JR14 - I don't have the swatches. I'm just going off the test dress that I ordered. Are the orange callas real or faux? I have real touch callas in orange and they are nothing close to the dress. I can try to take a picture tonight and post it tomorrow morning if that would help?
  2. Once you design the postcards you can choose options for envelopes, blank, designed, etc. The ones I ordered were plain, so yes, you can just use plain paper and an envelope. Depending on how thick the paper is, it may or may not adhere as a package. We cut slits in ours, but some people mentioned that the magnet was loose.
  3. The only reason why I included the traditional RSVP with stamped envelope was because we had so many people that don't use the internet. I think my mom is kind of mad that I put our address on the RSVP and not hers, now everyone will find out that we live together. But I think you should do what's best for your guests. Because it is a DW you are more likely to hear who has booked.
  4. We ordered matching postcards and magnets from vistaprint. I ordered the envelopes with the postcards and we sent them across Canada and the US without any problems.
  5. Here's a guideline for rose petals: Aisle, Path, Tabletop or Bed (To make a heart on a bed for a honeymoon suite) : 1 cup per square foot for light coverage. 1.5 cups per square foot for light plus coverage. 2 cups per square foot for moderate coverage. 3 cups per square foot for heavy coverage creating a "blanket" of rose petals. Flower Girl Baskets: 4-6 cups per girl Wedding Toss: 1/2 cup per guest if using cones or sachets. Wedding Toss: 1 cup per guest if using a basket for guest to help themselves. To decorate tables you will need from 1 to 3 cups per table. Reception tables: 5-6 cups per 60" round table For light scattering around just the center of the table use 3 cups or so. Path & Bath: 20-60 cups to create a path of rose petals to a candle filled bathroom and to float rose petals in the bath. Romantic Evening: 20-60 cups depending on the bed size & the coverage you are looking for...light to complete! I bought 60 cups just because they were 1/2 price and I want to use them along the aisle and for tossing.
  6. JR14 - Maybe you still have time to get them to change the color? What about #58? I wish they had names with the numbers to get a better idea of the true shade.
  7. Ella - As I was taking down the tree yesterday, I reminded FI that we were going to be in full wedding planning mode now. Especially since I hope to attend our first show together this weekend. A couple of our neighbors got engaged last month so hopefully FI will be more excited if he's not the only groom-to-be. I feel like I have a lot accomplished but I know that there is still so much more to do. I gave FI the deadline for picking out attire and he's already a few days behind. Brandy - I hope your dress turns out beautiful!
  8. Thanks - It was a lot easier than I expected. Now I just have to work on the boutonnieres and corsages. Then it will be onto the next project. I also managed to add some color to my crinoline over the holidays. I'm still not sure if I should dye the whole thing. Before After
  9. Proud to say that out of 90 invitations, only one got sent back with the wrong address. And everyone was really impressed with the invites, especially when they found out that I did them all by hand. Near the end, I was thinking that I should have just paid someone to do all the work, but now that I've had such positive remarks, I'm glad I did them. Now I just have to wait for RSVP's to come back. I mean, really, if you're definitely not going send it back! There's already a stamp on the envelope!
  10. So here are some pictures of my bouquets that I made. Do you ladies think I should add more color? Our colors are orange and fuchsia. Close up of my bouquet Close up of BM bouquet (I made three the same)
  11. Ginger - I would guess that your dress is being processed by customs. Usually takes a couple of days unless they think it is really undervalued. Don't forget that today is a federal holiday too, so it might not be processed by customs and certainly not by Canada Post. Don't worry too much. It will arrive!
  12. Lisa, I should find out this week when if my bridal shower is at the end of January and if my sister is attending. If she is, we can ship to her and then have her bring them up. That will make a huge difference in shipping. I got my real touch bouquets assembled today. I will post pictures tomorrow so you ladies can advise if I should make any changes. It was remarkably easier than I anticipated.
  13. I think they do the fireworks right at the end of the ceremony. Behind the table. There is a picture of fireworks on the my palace resorts wedding website. That was the main reason we chose to go without the package. The only thing extra we would get is fireworks and they almost seem like just sparklers. The ceremony fee is included with all packages, even complimentary. It's just an extra fee for a civil ceremony, which you won't need. I would check if you really want everything in the package. We found it cheaper to just buy everything separately since we are bringing photographers and flowers. Remember to read through this entire thread and the Moon Palace 2010 thread too and you will see why most of us chose the complimentary package with separate upgrades. Wow! That's amazing. The first 2011 MP Bride and only days away. Enjoy and congratulations!
  14. Depending on how endowed you are, you might want to make a special request for a wider elastic. I think it's called an invisible bra? Both my strapless dresses from Monica Bridal have the elastic strap but it is only about 3/4" wide so don't expect a ton of support. It is nice to know I won't have to wear a bra though.
  15. Lisa - How many are you thinking of ordering? I might be willing to split the order and maybe we can work out the shipping. I'm in Hamilton so we could even work out a spot halfway to meet.
  16. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year! The last one before we all become a Mrs!
  17. Happy Holidays April Brides! Hope everyone has a safe and healthy holiday. All the best in the new year when we can get back to focusing completely on our weddings hehe.
  18. Plated menus can be served in the ballrooms, but you can only choose one menu. If you tell Miami that you want to reserve locations and need to be in contact with Cancun WC they will give you the information.
  19. Our RSVP date is Feb 16th, 2 months before we leave, and the date that the resort wants final payment. I was so happy to get some back even though they were declines. At least then I know for sure who won't be changing their minds. So hopefully we will get more back sometime soon.
  20. The shoe thing is horrible. I love to wear heels and FI is prob about 4 inches taller than me, but sadly I messed up my feet a few years ago and can't wear anything with a heel for longer than about an hour. But I am still looking for something sexy with a little heel.
  21. Ella, I'm glad things are working out with your WC leaving. I'm going to try to have a wedding day to get away from Christmas shopping. I'm sewing fuchsia netting into my crinoline for extra color and then I will work on doing the iron ons for our OOT bags. Crazy stuff, yesterday I went to have my hair done and because she gets booked so far in advance, I scheduled my final pre-wedding cut and color! I can't believe it's that close.
