  1. JR14 - My dress was actually from another vendor, but I figured the swatch colors would be the same. I ordered three dresses from Monica Bridal, a vendor on dhgate. They were all made quite well. I had sizing issues with the first two but for the third I sent in measurements done by a professional and the fit was perfect. The only dress that wasn't like the picture was the one I picked off their website, I sent pictures for the other two. When I talked to the vendor they were even surprised it was not a halter like the description. I still wonder if there was a mix up somewhere. Maybe you can ask on the knock off thread about big day dress?
  2. Brandy - I think I like the first ones with the rosettes the best. But since you'll be on your feet all day, I think it's a good idea to have a couple standby pairs.
  3. Laura, how are you protecting the luggage tags? Are you laminating them?
  4. Brandy - For the static on your dress, trying rubbing a dryer sheet in between the layers? Also, maybe if you try on your dress with a smoothing undergarment it will slide over your hips easier? I have that same problem and sometimes even wearing control top nylons helps. TLGnhci - It was me that had the pink crinoline. I was originally going to dye it, but I first attempted to add hot pink netting between the layers. It was a lot easier since I just used the iron on fusible webbing to attach it. Basically, I just threaded the top of the netting so that I could gather it nicely, pinned it into place and then ironed it with the no-sew hem tape. That would probably be your best solution if your crinoline is already attached. I finished the boutonnieres last night. So now I just have to figure out the mother's corsages and I will be done all the flowers. FI thinks I'm crazy every time I ask to go to Michaels to pick up something for DIY. But then I tell him how much I saved and he's thankful I figured these things out.
  5. Alison - Thanks so much for posting that information. It's amazing how much more you can find out from previous brides. It's almost like MP wants to keep everything a secret. Vettiebean - In the contract we received from MP it states that arrivals before 3pm count as first day.
  6. I ordered a soft cover book from snapfish with our engagement photos to use as a guest book. I'm also going to include mini envelopes for private wishes. I wanted something that was easy to transport.
  7. I really like that dress, but my sister is paranoid about swim suit straps and my moh is plus size. So tough....
  8. I wanted more orange than pink... and certainly not red. The hunt continues.
  9. It makes me so sad to see all these gorgeous shoes. A few years ago I managed to do permanent nerve damage to both my feet while dancing barefoot at a wedding, so now I mad to pre-medicate before I wear heels for more than a couple hours.
  10. Here's the picture. When I put the callas on the dress they matched pretty closely, but overall the dress is too red for my liking. It is a yellow calla on the left, and orange on the right.
  11. Did you get an answer on this? I'm also wondering if we can just provide a notarized photocopy?
  12. Erin - Working out and getting active is the hardest part. I think it's probably best to spread out your eating throughout the day so you don't send your body into starvation mode if you're not getting enough nutrients. I know if I don't do that I get headaches and can't think straight. FI wants to do a cleansing diet but I'm scared so I think I will do the diet but not the supplements. Really don't want the cleansing to kick in at this weekend's bridal show.
  13. Yay Brandy! Thanks everyone. My sister gave me a pair of silver Gucci flip flops that I am wearing in the picture, but they are incredibly uncomfortable and slippery. So I guess I will keep looking, but probably something flat for comfort. My FI complains that we spend so much time watching wedding shows that now we have to trade time while he plays COD. Funny thing is we have about 5 five tvs in the house so we don't even have to share.
  14. I think it all depends on what you put in them. Like you, our AI provides most things that others are including. I have made bags with our logo on them but haven't decided what to put in them. I figured if nothing else, it will be nice to have a small tote for day trips. It's also very difficult to decide until I have more accurate numbers. I'm trying to think of helpful items that would be unexpected and appreciated. A couple of items that I want to include; sarongs for ladies, nail files, laundry soap, emergen-C, and aloe. Except for the sarongs, I figure these items may be harder or more expensive to obtain.
  15. Congratulations! Yes, it is possible if your future in-laws fly out of Canada. I think it's fine for whomever you choose to walk you down the aisle. If Bio family is attending, that's great and they should understand. I had my dresses custom made in China, so you could potentially pick a design and they will make whatever you want in any colour.
  16. Brandy - I really hope it shows up today. Teira - Glad to hear that you at least like 2 of them. I can't wait to see how they turned out. Here's a picture of me in my reception dress. It's not the greatest because FI was in the middle of playing CoD when I asked him to take it.
  17. Too bad you can't choose where to lose extra weight. I already had my dress altered but wouldn't mind dropping a few more pounds in certain places without needing any additional alterations. I keep telling FI that I'm not dieting for that reason.
  18. Tris - Since you're in Winnipeg, I have two suggestions for turquoise ties. First - I think Le Chateau usually carries brighter colors, and secondly Walmart actually carries silk ties in vibrant colors.
  19. That would be so helpful to see the swatches. I still can't decide if I'm going to order BM dresses online or from a bridal store or even try to find something from Macy's or Nordstroms.
  20. I'm sure you will look beautiful even if you are 20 pounds heavier. After all, they all proposed marriage before the gorgeous hair, dress, makeup and body toning.
  21. Brandy - Oops... it's your TTD so I think it's fine. Plus, you'll need him to take the pictures to post on here hee hee.
  22. I have tried it on. I'm really happy with it, but haven't taken pictures. I will try to remember tonight. Thanks so much. I tried on my reception dress for my FI and I think he wanted it to be a surprise, but was happy to see it. I appreciate his opinion and advice. After all, he will be watching me wear it all night. I fell in love with the look the first time I saw a fuchsia crinoline. And don't worry, we all have long lists, that seem to get longer each day. I think you should be able to find someone at the resort to do up your dress, even if it is your WC or someone at the salon. He might not want to leave your room once he sees you in your dress.
