  1. The age thing is the issue for me too... I'll be 33 this year! So we should really start trying ASAP for the best results. FI is a couple years younger so he keeps trying to convince me to at least wait a year. I think I might like to do more of a rhinestone hair accessory.
  2. As an April 2011 Moon Palace bride, here is my word of advice. Once the contract is signed they will be very slow to respond. I try to make a list of several questions, at least 20, because I know it will take at least a week for a response. I also advise getting a TA to handle bookings, it might end up being cheaper that resort pricing. We're members so we're forced to pay a higher rate and now I worry I won't make the group numbers because it's cheaper for guests to book on their own. But at least I know I have enough for the free cocktail hour.
  3. Thanks for the info on pricing. I'm still debating pashminas. How long did it take for your order? Thank goodness for the internet for your wedding shopping and planning, my FI was working in Fort Frances for a year and it was a big deal to have the time to drive to the big city of Thunder Bay. It's great that you can ship to the border shop.
  4. I understand the now or never. My mom is originally from the Philippines and I have always promised my grandmother that I would visit. I really want to be able to go before babies, but based on my schedule it won't happen. So we'll plan our honeymoon to go there sometime next year maybe. My parents took my sister there when she was only three months old, so maybe we can manage the same?
  5. Laura you're puzzle book looks great! Do you mind sharing the website?
  6. We're not doing a honeymoon either. We're just staying a few extra days after the wedding. FI actually emailed me today that he will be out of holidays after our wedding I guess we'll be calling in sick a lot to cover the rest of the year. I won't complain though, because at least we will have 10 full days in wedding paradise not including our travel days.
  7. Wow! It looks like you put a ton of effort and thought into all your projects. Congratulations because you and all your projects look amazing!
  8. Erin I feel the same way. I'm trying to think of other stuff I want to research but I'm not sure what else to put on my to-do list.
  9. I think it's helps that you are so kind to post shoe solutions for all of us. Even if it does make me want to fill my closet with assorted shoes for one day.
  10. I really want to come up with something unique. I'm trying to find something that can be used to reserve a lounge chair in the morning.
  11. Wow! Time flies so quickly planning weddings. Are you going to do a planning thread before you leave?
  12. I'm have made real touch bouquets and will make each girl transport their own. I also plan on spreading a lot of stuff amongst them to bring along, other decor etc.
  13. Either watch the buy, sell, trade forum or check out the thread on knock off dresses. I bought my ceremony gown and reception dress from a seller on dhgate, Monica Bridal, for under $300 for both and they are great.
  14. I have my BD shoot scheduled for a couple weeks from now. I talked to photographer yesterday and he suggested light make-up. I was going to get my makeup done, but now I can just do my own. I guess that way it will be more natural? I'm still going to have my trial lashes done though. He also said I should bring a white shirt that belongs to FI, but FI rarely wears that type of shirt. I think I will bring a jersey from his fave team since I bought matching garters for the wedding. I tried to come up with a few ideas last night, but don't really have sexy lingerie?!? Any ideas on where to shop in Canada?
  15. Teira - I read on another thread that you were planning a BD session. Are you still or have you done it already?
  16. Too bad we don't have a list of 2011 MP brides that we can keep updating. I think I will send a request for spa appointments today. At least the ones for me and FI!
  17. Teira - they both look great, but I think I like the second one best. Glad to see I'm not the only one having problems with FI attire. He complains that I haven't asked for any help from him, but he hasn't completed the two main things I asked for; attire and music play list.
  18. I haven't even told my boss when our wedding is or that it's destination! I'm actually supposed to head to Regina at the end of January and told the project manager I was coming back home at the start of April whether or not the job was done. I figure it's his job to pass that message onto the general manager.
  19. Great info Alison! Just a few more, how many salons are there? I know there used to be just one in Nizuc section. Did you request anyone specific for your hair? I need to book my appointments soon and would appreciate some input. The guys are going golfing that morning so I don't want to run into them. We are staying in the Sunrise section.
  20. Laura - The tags look great. Can't wait to see the final product.
  21. I haven't booked my time off yet. There is a couple people from my office that are attending, but I didn't invite our boss, so I'm waiting a while so it's not so obvious, and so I don't have to listen to him complain about why he wasn't invited. He's creepy, that's why!
  22. Well Alison, since you are bored I will ask a few more questions: What kind of decor/if any did you bring? How much do they charge to set up your decor? Should I just ask a guest/friend to do it? Did you just have the cocktail hour and private dinner? Did you have a ceremony outline before arriving? Were you able to add anything to the ceremony? Like readings, etc. Thanks so much.
  23. Lisa & Brandy, I'm so glad that I'm not too busy at work either so I can spend all sorts of time on wedding stuff. Before we got engaged I used to spend all my spare time on house stuff since we bought a new house last year, and I'm already worried about what my next "obsession" will be after the wedding. I'm sure it won't be long until I start encouraging baby talk.
  24. Vettiebean - Here is the excerpt from the first page of the wedding contract: · Bride and Groom must arrive in Cancun at least three (3) working days (Monday – Saturday) prior to the wedding ceremony to meet with the wedding coordinator and submit all documents. Bride & Groom must be at the resort by check-in time (3:00 PM) or earlier in order to consider day of arrival as the first day.
