  1. skp1 - Not sure what you mean about positioning, but I did find that changing print quality had a huge effect on picture resolution.
  2. Shootystar - I think the holiday is about a week, but you should check with them. Ginger - You probably feel so attached because you were more involved in the construction of your dress. I had the same sizing issues, the first time I did it myself, the second time I had a professional. Funny thing is the numbers were really close, maybe only off by an inch or two. Lisa - I'm sure you'll be able to find someone that can fix it for a reasonable price.
  3. Brandy - That's a great jacket, too bad my FI is a 46. I think we might just bite the bullet and order black tuxedos from studio suits but they'll probably never wear them again. There was a special show at Costco where they had black suits for $139.99 but FI wasn't sure if he liked it. I would love to start shopping for OOT bags, but we still don't have firm numbers I'm trying to figure out what I can work on that doesn't need guest numbers.
  4. Tenny, Convertible dresses from Avon. Brandy, I had mine altered at the beginning of December because it was just so big. I'm worried I might have to get it done again. Plus I need the length fixed. But it only took a couple of weeks and I think she could have done it quicker. I guess it depends on how busy the seamstress is?
  5. Really tempted to change themes to include turquoise because now it's marked down to $22.99! Too bad I already have chair sashes.
  6. I love those convertible dresses! I just wonder how they would look on someone that is curvy? I think even Avon sells one now for about $35!
  7. With 35 guests, you should easily reach the 75 room nights. Your TA should arrange the group contract that is signed with Palace resorts, you do it direct only if you're not using a TA.
  8. Shooty Star - Don't offer them more money to get it done. They are quick. When do you need the dress? Maybe they could have it done after New Year's and still have it in time for your wedding? I don't think adding tulle will make the skirt more opaque, but it will make it closer to the original. The problem is that the skirt/train overlay is longer than the underskirt, when it should be the same. I hate to say it, but they only offer a replica, so because that dress is very complicated, it is harder to make it exact. kristie - If you post a pic of your dress we might be able to give a better suggestion.
  9. Oops... http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/65294/finally-posted-pics-of-my-finished-diy-passport-invite-mocha-makes-3
  10. Oh yeah, I forgot, with all of you talking about fill ins. My third BM has told me that she might be preggers and if she is, there's no way she can afford the trip. Is it bad/too late to ask another friend? FI & I were actually joking last night that I might end up with just MoH in bridal party and I was cursing him for having 3 best friends that had to be included.
  11. Lisa - I was actually just going to send you a message. I had a huge blowout with my sister last night. Apparently she feels the need to run everything and doesn't think anyone but her can make a proper decision. She was very disrespectful to my MoH and when I politely asked her to be nice she started getting all defensive and crying. So right now I'm not speaking with her until she grows up and apologizes for treating my best friend like a servant. Which means I have put a hold to my US deliveries. I'm going to ask some coworkers about mail box delivery though.
  12. For that many invites, it certainly is doable. I did 90 passport invites for our DW and will probably do about 50 AHR invites. This way you can have exactly what you want, especially if you want to follow the same theme throughout. It is cheaper to buy the supplies, and some ordered invites still require assembly. You can use Word and even find templates specifically for word. Check if your computer has Publisher, part of MS Office. I used it and it was much easier for rotating text or changing the color of images.
  13. Laura, I'm so glad that they turned out beautiful. If you want to add more blue to the ribbon, maybe do a crisscross layer over the one that's already there? Did the green already have the blue rhinestone? I bought some stones to add to our bouquets but not sure where to put them.
  14. Wow! Lots of work for some really beautiful stuff. Do you have a template for your guest tree?
  15. Be persistent. They will help you out. If not, tell them not to send it and cancel the order. It would help us if you post the inspiration too.
  16. Teira - I'm actually trying to figure out tables today too. Last night, I played around with vellum table numbers in either a cylinder or cube shape. Unfortunately, this morning I realized that it might be too windy outside? So far, we have satin chair bows in pumpkin (orange) and fuchsia. We plan on ordering orange maracas as favours, and that's where the settled details end.
  17. I still watch the show, I don't love my dress, but I'm not looking anymore. I'm sure FI will think I'm gorgeous no matter what I wear and I will be happy.
  18. That's so funny. FI used to change the channel to that for me just to keep me on the treadmill. Until I started just standing there to watch it. Got the best wedding gift so far today, my boss is giving me an extra week of paid vacation!
  19. Hanna, FI & I are started doing the 12-day Wild Rose Herbal D-Tox last Friday. It consists of supplements and a sugar-free, gluten-free, dairy-free diet. So far, I've lost about 5 pounds without any extra activity and FI has lost about 8, but runs 5 km a day. I didn't want to lose much weight, just redistribute it.
  20. Thanks for the link. I still can't decide for sure if we should do the legal here or just keep it as legal there. My MoH's parents spent their first week of marriage getting married in different European countries, and that just sounds so romantic reaffirming your commitment over and over. I think the symbolic will be more special than the legal. You'll actually be sharing vows with family and friends, not just signing papers.
  21. Thanks for the picture. That's actually pretty similar to what we planned, including rose petals and maracas!
  22. Laura, You should be able to find a notary for $15-25 per document. I know we do that for invoices at work. I know our legal ceremony in Mexico is valid in Canada. Lisa, what did you have to send for your marriage application. We were just bringing our long form birth certificates with us.
  23. Glad to help. I couldn't decide either and when I saw this one, finally decided that it was the way to go.
