Tris - You'll have so much fun. I didn't have any friends there, but the photographer's assistant is his wife, so she helped me relax and even demonstrated the poses. I'm glad I didn't have a bunch of people watching, it would have made me nervous and self conscious.

Just finished my BD shoot... it was fun and exciting. I was a little nervous but I think it went well. I can't wait to see the results! We did a few different outfits and poses. It was pretty relaxed. I used the same photographer that will be doing our wedding, so I can't wait to see how they turn out. We even did a few shots with my veil and flowers.

It's tough to tell with the color coming off the tv? Maybe you can bring the pillow shams to the paint store and have them do a computer match of the silvery color? It really is gorgeous bedding though.

I thought you still had to do the blood test for a Catholic ceremony? The only ceremony without is the symbolic, so you either have to get married at home before or after. If you do the Catholic, it is part of the sacrament to attend marriage prep classes, have the marriage announced in your home church etc.

We're getting married at MP this April. We put the prices on our website and on the invite, since not everyone uses internet. The big thing to consider is that if you book through the resort, the price includes all taxes and fees. Take a look at booking through a tour operator and you will see taxes upwards of $400. We kept reminding people that even though the room was $2800 for a week, that's for two people and there is no additional taxes. So basically, it's $1400 per person, plus your flights, which we managed to get for $500 per person incl. taxes. When you look at any other decent resort, the price is very similar. Sure there was people that complained and said they couldn't afford it. Some even suggested we find a more affordable resort so they could attend. But in the grand scheme of things, I was not going to settle for a crappy wedding at a 3-star resort for a price difference of a couple hundred dollars. Decide if the most important people will be able to afford it, or if you might be able to help them out. And remember, MP is an amazing resort, where everyone, no matter what their age or activity level, will have an amazing time! There is very few resorts that can provide everything that MP does.

Char - It sounds like your half-sister is a very supportive and wonderful person. If anything, she would appreciate that life is so fragile and continue to be happy for you and your FI making your wedding dreams come true. Sure it is tough enjoying something when someone else is going through rough times, but you also have to treasure your special moments. Even if she can't be there, I'm sure she will still be sending her love. Maybe you could start sending a separate message to those that aren't coming with encouraging thoughts? I know a girl who survived breast cancer in her early twenties and if nothing else, she celebrates all the little moments of happiness that happen around her. I hope her treatment goes well and that your relationship stays strong.

I don't think I would ever order a replica of a dress that I tried on and had access to. For sure, you would be disappointed because many things would be done differently. I'm really pleased with the quality of both my Monica Bridal dresses because I never saw the originals. I liked the pictures and Monica Bridal simply recreated the pictures. They don't have patterns of the originals, they don't have access to the originals and most of time can't see most of the details. So if you want something exact to what you tried on, save the $200 and buy the original. It's the only way you'll be happy. Rule #1 of gown shopping is, don't shop out of your price range.

Lisa - I just feel bad for my parents. I told them I couldn't understand why she is so rude to others when that wasn't the way she was raised. But I think it might be for the best that she learns that not everyone will let her make all the decisions, and that her money can't buy everyone.

Laura - Best of luck! When we bought our house, FI had an hour commute, now it's only 5 minutes and I am so jealous with my 1/2 hour drive each way! Lisa - I might go with these ones, or make my programs double as fans. I still haven't spoken to my sister, I'm waiting for an apology. She's flying here this weekend for my shower, so we'll see how that goes. lsmith - Gorgeous rings! FI was asking today if he could wear his ring before the wedding.

Try buying some sheer fabric at a craft store or fabric store. Check with your resort how much it is to rent from them, and even how much to add it/set it up for you if you bring your own.

Thank you. The e-ring is Tacori. We considered getting the wedding band made elsewhere but it is the same price to have it made by Tacori. So now I will have my, always dreamed of Tacori set. I have to rush home to do it, so maybe I will just be high on adrenaline. I'll try and post some pics when I get them back. I wasn't sure but figured it would be a cool surprise and totally unexpected. I'm sure I'll appreciate them even more in 15 years! Yay for being down to double digits! It's such an amazing feeling. Here's the ring we bought for FI over the weekend. So glad we found it, Birks had it on 50% off but now the sale is over. Next week, we will go order mine that matches my e-ring.

Greysgirl - I am actually doing the BD shoot tomorrow. It's a mix of excited and scared. I feel so bad sneaking around trying to organize everything without FI finding out. I haven't decided when I will present it though, probably before we leave. Would love some input for ideas from anyone. Brandy - It will be so exciting for him to see you on your wedding day that no memory of another person wearing your dress will remain. Tris - Those are gorgeous! I love all the colours. I have a cousin that works in graphic design in Winnipeg, I wonder if you know each other.

Mel2010 - Ever since I saw a picture of or orange callas I have been determined to have them in my bouquet. Since I made my own bouquets, I got exactly what I wanted.

We also had a successful day yesterday, finally managed to find and order a suit that FI likes, and we found him a ring for 50% off! So that is being sized and hopefully next week, we can go order mine.

I have to say that this is exactly why I ordered my dress in October. That way I would have plenty of time to find and order a replacement if necessary.

When we did our group contract she asked which section we preferred, grand, nizuc or sunrise. I initially chose Grand so we could have the bigger rooms, but there is limited ocean views so we asked to be moved to Sunrise. The reservation number changes based on section...
