  1. I posted my complaint on their facebook site too, complaining that they can't take care of their brides.
  2. Maybe the stress of not being able to be with FI during our engagement is finally getting to me. Oh, and now I just found out that our reservation WC has left and no one has been answering or returning her messages. And I found out on here, not even from the resort!
  3. OMG Pilar is gone! Our wedding is in 2 months and my guests have been trying to book and I haven't been getting a response so I sent a nasty message on Monday telling them how mad I was that people were booking through other sources because no one was returning calls or messages! So now all the contact info on my invitations is wrong? No one is taking over her email? And I have to find out on a forum! And I was also told that my guests could only book by contacting Pilar directly. Because I was initially upset that they could only book Mon to Fri, 9 to 5. Yup, this definitely deserves a huge font!
  4. The posts got bumped. Maybe we are posting so much they think it's spam? I promise to go look at that other dress again and make a final decision this weekend. Oh how I envy the girls that fell in love with the first dress they tried on. I still haven't even had that "I'm a bride" feeling so hopefully that changes now that we are so close.
  5. Brandy, thanks for understanding. I never really get too excited about things because I know in the end it will work out. And no one will ever know the drama behind the dress. As for the post numbers, I think we all remember struggling to hit 150, now we can almost do that in a day!
  6. I got both of my dresses from Monica Bridal as well. The ceremony gown was made well with a few errors that got fixed with my alterations, the reception dress is pretty well made too. Most of the vendors are closed for Chinese New Year, but should return mid Feb. So it would be close. You can ask them to rush the shipping, I know my second dress arrived in less than 5 days after shipping and that's because the courier screwed up and had to put it in the mail.
  7. Tenny as long as you know that they are just making something based on pictures and provide them with professional measurements I think it is money well spent. Just make sure you pick a vendor with good feedback.
  8. Laura, I'm not coming back home until 2 weeks before we leave for the wedding. Brandy, I know I settled. I wasn't finding anything great in the stores or online, so I just picked something that had most of the aspects that I wanted. I knew I was running out of time and had exhausted all my options in town so I would have to pick something. So I took a gamble, got a nice dress, just not exactly what I wanted. I knew I was settling because I had no other choice. I stopped looking online because I didn't have any other options when I picked the one I ordered. I figured I would like it more each day, and I did, but in my heart I know it's not the right one. Lisa, I would have been happy just liking any dress. You really did want that dress from the beginning and once you have it in your size you probably will feel better. I know I tried on at least 200 dresses. It's almost like I picked the best of the worst?
  9. Wow! What changes did she want to make? I understand the other costs, but she wanted changes?
  10. Lisa, we both waited a long time to find the perfect man, he deserves to see us in better than "meh" dresses.
  11. Somewhere in Manhattan? I watch it too, hoping to one day see a dress I love.
  12. Well, my reception dress is a knock off of Pnina Tornei.... maybe I should have made time for a trip to NYC! I'm sorry I'm so frustrating...
  13. Just plan it all for Moon Palace, provide lots of inspiration pictures and maybe even some of your own decor and you can have everything you want. You can customize your wedding as much as you want to get the desired look.
  14. I guess this is why I wanted a custom dress, I like the skirts, the tops just don't have enough shimmer.
  15. Laura, that's because Brandy is trying to help me find a dress that I love, so I don't have to settle for one I only like.
  16. I forgot to tell you ladies, I was sending pictures on my BB to FI and I accidentally sent him a picture of my dress. Thank goodness it was just a small thumbnail so he couldn't really see it. His coworker deleted it for him and she said it was really nice.
  17. Lady Sapphire, I think that is over priced for a replica that doesn't seem to have a lot of extra fabric, just more embroidery. How much is the original?
  18. Pretty close, but I want the top to have beading. I wear jeans and work boots to work and it kills me. I think when I walk into a bridal store in my work clothes they don't realize that I want over the top and are surprised when I start pulling those dresses.
  19. I would gladly do that homework, but that's the big problem. With my work schedule everything is closed by the time I get home and nowhere is open on Sundays. Even the one shop in town with decent dresses only has about 30 in total! Thank goodness FI continuously tells me I'm beautiful in everything.
  20. Seriously, something like this would be good:
  21. Lisa, I think that dress would be great for TTD, it also seems similar to your other replica dress. I think I want something over the top, that's why I ended up with ruffles. Because you're right it's our day and I deserve an amazing dress.
  22. I don't mind a few pickups, it's the dresses with pickups like on the capri that I don't like.
  23. I never could decide if lace was in or out. So not totally against it. The Maggie that I liked was Daphne.
  24. Brandy I really hope your new koozies arrive quickly and on time! If I can find a picture of something I love, I would totally order another replica dress.
  25. I think a lot of it has to do with my work schedule and where I am working. We were only engaged a month before I had to leave for work to go to the middle of the Prairies. I work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, in a city with six bridal shops with only one that has decent dresses. I was only home for a month at Christmas, for two of those weeks we were occupied with Christmas. I have tried looking online and never saw a dress that I loved. So Brandy if you would like to send me pictures of dresses you suggest I'm all for it. I want a sweetheart neckline, preferable dropped waist or fit and flare, and I don't like a plain skirt but also don't like the gathered pick ups. Maybe someone else can find my dream dress?
