Let's see how long it takes to resolve this mess! I had actually sent a message to Lisa Lizano at the beginning of the week, which she has still not answered. I sent messages to the guests I know were planning on booking this week. I spoke to membership reservations and was told that if my guests had the reservation numbers they could call there. SO, I am now giving out the reservation numbers?!? I was also given another email address for the supervisor, [email protected], but it bounced back as non-existent. Sadly, I don't know what to do about the people that haven't decided yet if they can come. Nothing tops feeling like an idiot bride!

Kathy, I already have 2 dresses from Monica Bridal on DHGate, one was intended for my ceremony and still will be unless I pull the trigger on another one, the second is a short one for my reception. Check out the thread on knock off dresses, you will see the quality on there. Glad to see I'm not the only one stuck at work on a Saturday!

Who is the manager? I am going to try calling membership services and find out if they can handle the reservations. It's really just the payments, because we already have reservation numbers.

greysgirl - Thanks for all your input, what type of signs are you going to buy? I haven't started working on redoing my tank, it's just mine I have to fix because I didn't do it properly. I am working a 10 hour shift today, so have to go pick up the stones tomorrow. I'm going to try and get plaques and do the vintage crackle Mr & Mrs signs for our chairs. Thanks for the tip about the maracas. I've been worried about bringing so much and really wanted them for favors. Now I will just have to make sure we have shopping time! On another rant, now that we are actually getting closer, FI is starting to ask questions about how everything is organized. He's worried that there won't be enough excitement at our wedding dinner if we don't do speeches. He's the one that didn't want them originally. He's also worried no one will dance or be able to hear the music because it's outside. If nothing else, I will be rocking the dance floor with my girls! Plus, it will only be a couple of hours, and then we have to move inside to another bar. I know he's only trying to help, but I warned him to stop postponing decisions because the time would go quickly.

I wouldn't worry too much about customs fees. I've ordered lots of stuff from overseas and never had to pay customs. They usually mark gift or samples on the package and it goes through customs. I received two packages from DHGate vendors, and both times no fees. If you are placing larger orders, they may value the item as customs and send a bill, but I wouldn't worry too much for a dress. P.S. I'm from Canada, so others might have U.S. input.

I think with all the beading on the top it is more balanced.The whole dress has a lot going on, which is better. And I can still use my crinoline for more pouf.

Kathy, I really hope I didn't negatively influence you to go looking for another dress. If you honestly did enjoy your dress when you picked it, then maybe you're just having an off day. For me, it's the other way around that I will have the odd day that I'm happy about my dress. The one you posted in very simple and pretty, but has some features that are original. If you're ordering from DhGate, choose a vendor with excellent (95-100%) feedback that can guarantee 95% as pictured. Otherwise, you might not get close enough to your expectations. I think I am going to order a second ceremony dress from DHGate, this time from babyonline. I found a couple that I really like. I'm going to make one more trip to a bridal salon for a final decision. But it's a toss up between these two: They are both designed by La Sposa. I prefer the skirt on the first one, but like the look of the satin on the second. So maybe I will ask for the second but with the skirt from the first? Time to play with photo shop!

Bonnie, I just think it's sad that she gave them a budget, and then they essentially doubled it and made suggestions to make major changes to a dress. Why not try to find her a more suitable dress within her budget? Is that not why they are there. Poor customer service I think.

I always think it's so sad when you go to a wedding and the bride is so thin and weak. Why would you want to like death in your wedding pictures? The most important thing to remember is that our FI's have seen us at our worst and still decided that they want us forever. And that they would always feel that way no matter how we looked. Change you eating and activity habits because it's better for your health and you will live a longer life with your true love, not so you look better in a bikini or wedding dress.

Great idea for some, unfortunately I have over 50 invitations still outstanding, I have valid email addresses for 5 people. So I guess I'm supposed to call all those people, plus the ones that have booked? Wedding websites are great, but only if your guests have internet access and actually go to your site. I feel like having Palace call each of my guests to inquire if they are interested in attending and will be booking!

That's horrible service. I hope you are able to get your dress made for a more reasonable price. It also sounds like the attendant was trying to take advantage of you.

Considering she was handling most of the member weddings, it's very disappointing. After posting my disappointment on the palace facebook site, they have asked for the wedding number, so hopefully, someone will apologize. I even have emails of her telling me that guests can only book through her! I do not want to have to deal with this.

Tenny, let's not forget we are really close to our wedding days and want our clothes to fit without major alterations! And I don't want guests to be whispering that I look sick. I weighed about 25 lbs less when my sister got married 10 years ago, and when I see the pictures it makes me sick. I was barely there! But that was back in the day when my metabolic rate was crazy, now I have hypothyroid.

Teira you have had a busy shipping week! That's great! I hope you love every minute of you BD shoot. Don't be worried, after having your hair and makeup done, you'll feel great and it will show in your pictures. Have fun and let your photographers guide you. What types of outfits do you have picked? I can't wait to see how someone else's shoot turns out. And I'm also glad to see I'm not the only one that's gone photo shoot crazy!

So here's my input... I'm also 5'6 and roughly the same weight. I did a cleanse at the beginning of January which involved changing diet and taking diuretics for 12 days. I think I benefited most from changing my diet to include more vegetables and eliminating processed sugars and breads. We were allowed whole grains and oats for carbs. I lost 10 pounds over the course of the diet. I think if you make a serious lifestyle change and eliminate most of the crap we tend to consume, you will be much happier with the results. But most importantly, take a serious look at your weight. It is a healthy weight, so maybe you just want to increase you activity to redistribute how your body carries the weight. Losing anymore than 25 pounds will probably put you into the underweight category.

We are flying WestJet and their rules are two carry ons which can fit in the bin, and one free piece of luggage. You can have two additional pieces for an extra $20. I was anticipating have my dress and his suit steamed anyways, so I planned on packing them as one of FI's carry on items. Kitty, how did you ever find a dress for $2? I would love to see it.

At the very least, why not put an out of office reply on her email?!? At least our Cancun WC does that.

We have one person from Miami that works for the head office of the resort handling the room reservations, she is the one that left. Thankfully, our on site WC is still there. However, the one in Miami told me that people could only book by contacting her directly, so that is what is on our invitations. And the resort still hasn't contacted me to let me know she is gone. One of my friends is trying to book and no one has called her back in almost a week.
