Eskie, Wow! This is a brand new issue with Palace Resorts. They are always changing the rules to make sure people can't take advantage of the full $1500. We were planning on using part of our resort dollars to get the video. We just got an email from the photography department this week, but since our friends will be taking professional photos I never replied. I will send a message now. We are less than a month away, so we would be in an even more desperate situation.

Nobody will ever pay to shorten a dress after they have worn it as a bridesmaid. That is a myth. When I selected B dresses, I tried to pick something that was affordable just because I knew it was highly likely that they would never be worn again. I'm still trying to figure out why we keep them in our closets after the wedding?

My FI started doing it 6 days a week about 3 weeks ago and loves it. He wants me to start but I am super un-athletic so I am afraid I might have an asthma attack just walking through the door. I did promise FI that I would give it a try though. (And probably walk out crying.)

Thanks Bonnie... I definitely need the good vibes. And I totally agree about ordering a dress too small. You can always have a dress altered to be taken in. If it's too small there's a slim chance of any seamstress being able to make it fit. It is definitely harder for most people to lose weight, and nothing looks worse than trying to squeeze into a too small outfit. I actually considered adding a little because I know I will indulge the days before our wedding.

Jenn, how do you think the bride would feel if some of you had the dress shortened to tea length? It might make it a little more comfortable.

You said it yourself, if you had your way, you would choose Le Blanc. Check out the prices. It's two years away so maybe you can start a payment plan for family members. With 40 guests and a group contract, you would probably end up having your room credited, so you could use that money to supplement his family. It's your day and you will never make everyone happy, so pick your personal favorite. You may also want to check into a Palace membership wedding. The rates haven't been released for 2013, and they are usually very close, but you get more perks. The only sacrifice is that you have to act as the TA to get people booked, organize transportation, etc. And from my personal experience the Miami office is horrendous 95% of the time.

Meggers you definitely don't have to worry about looking silly, you look amazing. I feel so much better now that the book has arrived and FI seems to really like it. I asked which was his favorite pose and he named them all.

Lisa, I'm changing my fans once again. I didn't find any paper I liked, and last night I saw one on here that is just one page fan shaped. So that was, I can still use the grommets as a decoration to thread ribbon through. Do you have a picture of what you are trying to accomplish? I just got an email from one of my neighbours. Some of the girls want to take me out when I get home to relax and destress. Exactly what I will need to kick off the wedding preparation bonanza.

Meggers, I think you will be safe as long as they provide tracking. Theresa, they look beautiful. Where did you purchase your flowers from? I made some but FMIL bought a mauve dress so that will look horrible with orange callas.

Leigh, I guess that is just another one of the lies that they tell us brides. It is Geraldine Flores. She told me she just started a few weeks ago. I guess now I have one more thing to write in my complaint. Before this wedding, I had only experienced vacations at Moon Palace and so I knew that everything in Cancun would be wonderful. Based on all our experiences, Cancun is so wonderful because the Miami office is so disrespectful that anything feels like a vacation!

Angel I would return the dress and have one custom made to measurements. It's not so bad to alter a dress up to two sizes, but it sounds like major alterations, and the length may not be repairable.

Kim, if your wedding group is that small you can just use a restaurant reservation instead of the private event. You could even rent out the Caribbean Terrace because the per person fee would be much more affordable. They don't provide music for the cocktail party, but if you provide it, I don't see why you couldn't break into dance. I considered doing our traditional dances at the cocktail party.
