  1. Just read through your photographer review.. wow, sounds like such a mess (and thanks again for posting the review for other brides to know to stay away). Your album turned out so beautifully though!! Great job putting that all together!
  2. Wow, I'm so sorry for your experiences, but I have to say a huge THANK YOU for posting your review! I had come across his company and it was on the list for consideration, since the prices seemed right. I'll definitely mark that one down as a big fat NO!!!
  3. Great thread! I'll be bookmarking a lot of these sites for sure!
  4. Oh no, sorry to hear about the bad weather and flight cancellations! Hopefully the weather is all clear down there now and that you get your beautiful sunny wedding day!
  5. Dinner out with the girls : martinis!
  6. Wow, $3000?!?! That's insane! I've seen other Canadian brides talk about this same topic though.. Some have said that the place to get a new ID didn't require the translated version, whereas other brides have said they did have it translated, but it was no where near that expensive! Their posts said somewhere in the $30-60 range depending on where you go. Sorry, I'm not from Canada, so take this for what it's worth!! Just thought I'd pass along what I had seen others discuss. Good luck!
  7. I'm still kind of considering the DR, and it seemed that November to early December is a good time to go. The prices were still very affordable (seemed to start going up around Christmas and stayed up through April or May), but the chances of rain are a LOT lower since it is a little removed from the official hurricane season. I don't have the website with me since it's on my work computer, but you can do a search and find the average rainfall for each month. September and October were still pretty high, but it dropped off in November. However, my sister lived there for about a year and a half, and she said even if it did rain, it would be a short 5-10 minute rain/downpour and that would be it for the day. As for which resorts are the most affordable, I think it all depends on what 'affordable' means to you and what you're looking for. Like Aumiller said, I would suggest just doing a search on Orbitz or something and then seeing what comes up! Agreed, it's a tough decision and all the info can be soooo overwhelming!!!! Good luck!
  8. Exciting!! I can't wait to get to 150 and see all the great templates and downloads
  9. Not a former bride so I don't have any advice, but I will say that when I read what the legal wedding script had to be, it definitely convinced me to do a symbolic ceremony! That way I can tailor the sayings/readings and sand or stone blessings to how I always envisioned my day going.. Something to consider at least! I have heard other brides who did the legal wedding, and also recited their own vows as well. Surely they will allow you to at least do that at some point in the ceremony. Good luck!

  11. Ooh awesome! Even better that it's free I always see their ads to win a free dress.. nice to know that someone actually does win!! Might go sign up right now
  12. Wow, Ginger, you went through a lot!! Sounds like everything turned out beautifully though. Congrats and thanks for all the info!!!
  13. Thank you so much for the info! I just sent off an email to her.. Let's hope they can get us all price lists soon!!
  14. Agree, I really like the first dress!!! Such a great idea to post here.. All the people are super helpful! However, I would say that you should go with what you feel the most confident and comfortable in. We can't really tell that part of it, and I think that makes a difference in your big day. You'll be more relaxed that way and your pictures will show that!
  15. How exciting!!!! You'll have to take lots of pics and let us know how it goes when you get back!
  16. No kidding!!! Especially not at $22/person plus service and tax. I understand they treat it as a set menu kind of thing, but that just seems crazy when you're at an all-inclusive!
  17. I was wondering if someone could do me a huge favor... I emailed the hotel from the website, but not sure if it was a general email address or actually went to the weddings area. Could someone send me the wedding coordinator's email address, please? Or better yet -- send me the wedding package and extra services pricing & details?? I've been waiting for weeks to hear back, which makes me think I got the wrong area.. I need to make my resort decision soon, and really liked this one from what I've read of it. PM me and I'll send you my email address. Oh, and anyone know if the tent is just an option? I'm not a big fan of how it looks compared to the image I've had in mind all this time.. Thanks so much!!
  18. Hm, good question. I was thinking about getting those, but if people are going to lose them it may not be worth the hassle! I'd also love to hear input from those brides who did use these in their OOT bags.
