Oops lol.. guess I should have refreshed the page.. would have seen you already had your question answered

I'm in the Midwest, so central standard time, and when I saved the invitation to my Outlook calendar it came through as 11:30-1 pm.. So for EST I would think that means it will be 12:30-2 pm for you.

Thomasjsgirl -- I thought the same thing about all-inclusives! I think things could easily be more in the end if you have to factor in drinks and food for an entire vacation. That's our one main requirement - an all inclusive resort!
-
Thanks for the extra ideas. He has a spunky younger 'friend' who I think could help convince him to go, and between her and my uncle I think he could manage pretty well. I guess we'll see!

Very nice, thanks for sharing!

Not sure if everyone saw this, or if there is still any open availability, but Tammy put together a webinar with the Now Resorts which is this coming Saturday. The presenters include Now Jade wedding coordinator Pilar, so if anyone has questions, this might be a great opportunity to get them answered!
Â
I will for sure be participating, so if you aren't able to make it and have some questions, please send them on to me, and I'll see if I can get them answered. It's pretty early in planning for me, and I haven't yet decided which resort, so I don't think that I know all the right questions to ask!

Hi Kristie,
Would you please also send me Ivan's price list? [email protected] Thanks!
Â
And that's awesome your wedding will be 11.11.11! I'm still in the deciding which resort phase, but planning on a wedding right around that date, too
Â
thanks!

My sister lived there for a while, and brought home a few of those faceless dolls. Amazingly beautiful and intricate work!

Beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing.
I haven't decided on my location -- Riviera Maya vs Punta Cana -- but have already decided if we go with Punta Cana that I would definitely want HDC for the photography!

Thanks for the article and tips! I have heard from some family members that my Grandpa won't go if it's out of the country, so we'll see.. maybe if I just talk to him and ease any concerns he will decide to go!

Not sure how helpful this might be, but I stayed at the Samsara resort in Negril, Jamaica with a few girl friends. It was January, so not sure how it would be around March and Spring Break time, but you could ask them. Anyways, they had an option for all-inclusive if you wanted, but we didn't do that (nice that they do have the bar and restaurant if we didn't feel like wandering around though). It is in the cliffs part, so definitely a different feel, yet they had a sister hotel right on the beach, with free transport between the two. It was very affordable, although I don't know if the hotel has any wedding coordination services.

Good luck! Choosing is the hardest part, so I hear. I still haven't picked after looking around and researching for the past couple months...

Congrats! Loved your color theme and how you put it all together! I've been toying around with that color combination, and might just go with it knowing how great yours turned out!

I will be there! Excited to learn more about wedding details.. I am still deciding on the resort location for a November 2011 wedding. I just recently came across these resorts and have liked what I've seen so far!
Thanks Tammy for setting this up!
Â
Questions I have so far:
- Is the wedding decor set up included with all wedding packages, or only the Divine package? Mainly wondering about chairs (need to pay rental per chair?) and if the beautiful wooden arch shown in the pictures is included?
- Are trades or credits available if we do not need/want some of the extras (i.e. dinner on beach, airport transfer, massages, hair/make-up, etc)
- What are the back-up options in case of rain?
- Are outside vendors, such as photographer/videographer, allowed? If so, any fees related to that?
- How do we go about booking a wedding? Is a deposit needed to hold the date? When is the final payment due?
-
I am struggling with the exact same decision myself!! Riviera Maya vs Punta Cana...I go back and forth. The prices look about the same based on my research so far.. just having problems narrowing down the resorts. I've done lots of reading of this awesome forum and it sounds like picking the location is the hardest part!
Â
As far as the violence in Mexico, I was concerned with that, too, but in looking at the US State Dept's website, there doesn't seem to be any problems at the Cancun/RM area related to the drug trafficking issues. Just your normal be safe in foreign countries kind of thing, like don't go out late at night esp by yourself, etc. So I wouldn't let that stop you from considering the area.
Â
I don't know much about Dreams, but all the wedding-type reviews I've read say that they do a GREAT job with destination weddings. Do a search and you'll find LOTS of Dreams brides' posts.
Â
Seems to be great AI resorts at both places, just a matter of what works best for you and your guests!

The photo prices I was given was 45 photos (6x8, printed or on cd) for $400, 90 6x8 photos and 2 12x18 photos (printed or on cd) for $750, 120 6x8 photos and 3 12x18 photos (printed or on cd) for $1000. There are also bigger packages that included digital books, etc. if you'd like me to send you that information. I also have Nicola Bisogni's email address.

Do you have pricing information for HDC just so I can compare the two? We had looked at photosouvenir but decided we don't think we want to spend quite that much money....
Hi Andilynn,
I found HDC's photo prices on his website (under "The Experience" link, there is a hyper link in the first paragraph). Anyways, his package prices as listed are:
-- $690 (3 hrs coverage, DVD with photos, slideshow, set of prints -- 50-100 depending on the size you choose, and online gallery),
-- $990 (3 hrs coverage, DVD with photos, slideshow, set of prints -- 100-200 depending on the size you choose, plus 30 prints 8x12 size, online gallery, hard cover coffee table book)
-- $1350 (5 hrs coverage, DVD of photos, slideshow, 150-300 prints depending on size you choose, plus 30 prints 8x12 size, plus 5 prints 12x18 size, online gallery, larger hard cover coffee table book
-- $250 for TTD session (1 hr session, DVD with pictures, slideshow, 50 prints)

Overall very reasonable I think! Still deciding on where to get married, but if we go with Punta Cana, I definitely plan on HDC doing the pics!

Nice pictures! Thanks for sharing. I have a friend getting married there in April, and it's definitely on my short list as well!
