Hi Everyone Josietoms - How exciting!!!!! Before you know you'll be on plane on way to becoming a Mrs..... Loving the flip flops :-) I have spoken to Thomsons and I don't know what to do after the explosion they are not taking any further bookings for this year but bookings are normal for next year.... They say once the hotel is rebuilt they will send their own inspectors to make sure it is safe.... I'm not getting married until Oct but I have people who would like to book but I don't know what to do???? I can change resort and even country which I know some people have but they will charge me an admin fee!!!!! Any advice anyone... I really want to get married here but I am getting really stressed over it..... Maybe I should wait until after Christmas... Am I being a bit neurotic as I have got nearly a year to go?????

Hi My wedding is also in October 2011 and I am with you as I don't know what to do whether I should be looking at changing resort just yet???? I was going to wait until after Christmas and make a decision then.... it all depends on what they confirm the cause of the explosion was....

Yeah I am getting married at the Grand Princess, I couldn't believe the news my thoughts are with everyone out there at the moment and all the families that have lost loved ones....

Hi there I have booked for Grand Riviera Princess for October 21st, however I have just seen on the news that there has been a natural gas explosion in the hotel lobby. 7 people have died and 2 are critical... Check the news your end.. I am in the UK and have checked bbc.news and skynews. :-(

Hi everyone I have just found out that the hotel we have booked for our wedding has just had an explosion in the hotel lobby so far 7 people dead and 2 in critical condition am so upset I cannot believe it. It was a natural gas explosion in the hotel lobby it is on the bbc news and sky news. I feel for the families who are there now and the families of the deceased. I have phoned Thomsons and they didn't know anything about it. They do now !!! They are going to update me tomorrow because obviously they are concerned at the moment with the people in resort..... I don't feel safe going there now as I do not want my children to go there.... I thought I found the perfect place to get married :-(

Know how you feel it is really difficult.... We looked at going to Rhodes but it wasn't that much more expensive to go to Mexico...... So we decided that we would go where we had our hearts set on which was Mexico and I am really happy we booked Mexico.....

Good idea about having a photographer at the party, not gonna have it at home tho (couldn't take the mess lol) we have booked a hotel locally and they have said we can have the room from 4pm at no charge but my FI thinks it is too early but I like the idea of having it longer as it might feel more weddingly???? What do you think????

We are thinking of having a party when we come home from Mexico for our friends and family who can't come with us. Is anyone else having a party???/ If so what time are you thinking of having it cos I am thinking of about 4ish as I want everyone to have a few drinks and be more relaxed for the evening but my FI thinks this is too early. What do you think?????

Hi Guys - What have you sorted with regards to photographers have had a look and had prices from Claudia Rodreiguz, Moments that Matter and Del Sol they all look fantastic, have any of you booked any photographers?? If you have how much notice did you need to give them to reserve them??? Am I too early cos my wedding date is Oct 011? Any advice you could give would be fab..... Thanks..

We are getting married at the Grand Riviera Princess in Playa del Carmen.... Haven't really thought about a colour scheme yet,,,, Your hotel looks fab had a quick look at it... All I think about is this time next year I will be there in Mexico with only 2 days to go to the wedding. God I am wishing my life away!!!! I am driving all my friends mad cos all I talk about is the wedding and all I do on the internet is look on trip advisor and this website LOL Think I am obsesssed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi We are getting married in Playa del Carmen in Mexico we have booked the Grand Riviera Princess, flying on 16th October and wedding is booked for 21st Oct.... Am really excited :-) My FI and decided not to buy each other christmas prezzies this year so we are going in mid Dec to buy our wedding rings instead..... Where in Cyprus are you getting married we went there a couple of years ago and a friend got married there about 5 yrs ago in Protaras. It is a lovely place...

Wow you are really lucky to be able to visit before you decide where to book we've just had to go by the internet and travel brochures, Azul Sensatori looks lovely and we were considering going there to get married. Have now decided to stop worrying about the weather cos I think I am getting on everyone' nerves at the mo LOL and am going to enjoy the day no matter what the weather and I also thought that end of Oct was the better option. How long you going for? We flying out on 16th Oct.

Hi there we have booked the Grand Rivera Princess. Where have you booked??? Still really worried about the weather though it is good that they seem to predict more rain than actually falls. Also I have heard that the rain out in Mexico isn't quite what I get here at home. I am really excited about everything :-)
