We were married there in May and the beach was beautiful. There was a tiny, tiny amount of seaweed and my husband and I kept saying to each other -- "Is this what they were talking about on TripAdvisor?" There was so little it was not worth mentioning.

We were married on May 23 and it was extremely hot. I bought a really cute pashmina and didn't use it at all on the wedding day or honeymoon. In terms of menu, we created our own. We searched TripAdvisor for what food people liked best and we offered our guests a choice of the duck from Chez Isabelle, sea bass from Chez Isabelle and mushroom risotto from Toscana. The food was a big hit!

We had our cocktail hour on the event terrace with the mariachi band, and it looked great. We missed most of it because we were taking pictures, but our guests loved it.

@cole379 Have them check out La Amada. It is literally right down the beach from EPM and they allow children. My parents had a view of the playground for kids at La Amada from their room at EPM...it's that close.

Hey ladies. I need to sit down and write a detailed review, but I just have to say that our wedding was amazing. Yamina is so sweet and helpful and the resort is beyond goregous!!! We got married on Monday May 23 at 5 PM on the beach and had our reception inside one of the rooms in the convention center. It was definitely hot so I'm glad we had our reception inside although the air conditioning could have been much stronger. We had 45 people. Our photographer was Sascha Gluck and he was wonderful. He made us feel so comfortable, and I can't wait to see the pictures. Feel free to PM me if you have questions.

Oh my goodness we leave in 2 days and we'll be married in 6 days on May 23!!! I can't believe it's already here. Any last minute advice?

SparkleSun Your wedding looks absolutely beautiful. I am hoping to get the same location for our reception and your pictures really helped me visualize how it will look. We're getting married on May 23 and arriving on May 19. It's coming up so quick! Does anyone have any recommendations on which officiant to use? Yamina gave me two names for possible officiants, but I'm open to other people too. We're not doing a religious ceremony, but I still want someone who will help us create something special.

I've got a random question for other brides getting married at EPM the weekend of 5/20/2011. Have any of you had to relinquish extra rooms in your room block early because of a group of 200 staying at the resort that weekend? I'm still having issues with my travel agent, and I am starting to doubt many of the things she told me. Back on December 21, she told us she had received a letter from the hotel asking us to give up any extra rooms within 48 hours because they had a group of 200 arriving on 5/20/2011. I tried to verify this with the hotel but they told me they have several people working in the group department so it would be hard to give me an answer. According to our contract, we had until this week to give up any extra rooms.

@KeraSmiley Our dates are so close...I'm getting married 5/23/2011. I had the same question about the photographer since we are doing an outside photographer too. We are actually doing a meet and greet on Friday so I wanted to see if Juan Navarro could come shoot that. @SparkleSun Please let us know what they say about your rehearsal dinner....if they will let use the 30 min then.

I don't want to post her name until we are done working with her, because I'm worried she will see it and be even more terrible. She works out of New Jersey so if any NJ brides are nervous about their agents message me and I'll give you her name.

I just want to offer a word of advice to my fellow brides -- be very careful who you choose to be your travel agent. We went with a local agent recommended by a friend, and it has been an absolute nightmare. She has broken our contract with her many times and now I'm convinced she has outright lied to us. I'm afraid we are going to have to take her to small claims court, and it's been stressing my finance and I out for months. We can't just fire her because all our friends have given her their credit card info already.

SparkleSun - Who is guitarist that Yamina recommends and how much is he? Are you choosing the songs or does he give you options to choose from? Also, anyone have a recommendation on which officiant to use?
